Katya Ragica Nikolaevna was born in 1949 in a small town of Sortaval, Russia. It was one of the harshest winters that had hit in at least fifty years. The winters in Russia were already harsh, but this one was bad. The house shook as she was coming into the world. After her birth, the weather seemed to calm down a bit. Katya had one sister and one brother and her parents.
Her father was a member of the revolution. Their goal was to help the Russian people not be under a communist state of ruling. After world war two so many things were happening in Russia, and not all of it was good. As Katya grew older things got worse in her country.
But she was raised in a loving family. By the age of five she had shown she was quite the little rebel herself. She didn't take no for an answer, and she was incredibly intelligent. Compared to all her other lives (not that she knew about them) this life was harder. Her family was beyond poor, there were days when none of them could eat because of how poor they were.
Her father worked hard for little money, there were days when he'd work for hours and only come home with a small amount of money. It only got harder as Katya got older.
As her seventh birthday approached Katya wanted to try and help her family. So, when her mother and father went to work, and her siblings got distracted Katya would sneak out and do small chores for people in exchange for money. She always gave the money to her father who always felt awful about her having to help.
This last time had been the last straw for her father. He left and went to go with the protestors to wreak havoc. It didn't take long until they were all arrested. Sadly, all the protestors after being arrested, were publicly executed.
So, when her father did not return Katya went looking for him. A small seven-year-old all alone, wandering the streets of Russia. Katya got far, and then went further than she had ever gone before.
Then fate decided to intervene, the storm hit so fast and so hard that poor Katya never saw it coming...
