After Katya and Gio went to bed Anatoly and Natalia stayed up talking. “So, are you going to tell me what's really going on or keep it a secret?” Natalia asks him quietly.
Anatoly lets out a sigh, “I'm not sure you’ll believe what I tell you, but I can try to explain.” He tells her running a hand through his shoulder length dark brown hair. He had grown a beard out that he kept nicely trimmed and although his body was the same his face was slightly different.
Natalia nodded, “I have no reason to think you'd lie to my Toly. So, whatever you say I will take as truth.”
Anatoly nodded, “Well this isn't the first time I met her, her name was Bastet she was the daughter of the Pharaoh. The second time we met her name was Constance she was a famous artist. Third most recent time her name was Annalisa, she was the daughter of a Don. Giovani is her younger brother. You see she is my soulmate, every time she turns twenty-one, she dies and then she is reborn. I knew she had been reborn again; I just didn't know when. What confirmed it for me was Ankanah. The pendant I normally wear was hers.
Ankanah only comes to life when she had been reborn and when she’s near. That's how I knew Katya was Bastet. Ankanah took life and is now with her. She is Bastet reborn. So now it’s a waiting game until her memory returns, she won’t remember any of this.”
Natalia looked at him, what he said was hard to believe but one could see that he wasn’t lying to her. “So, what do you plan on doing, waiting around until she remembers.” Natalia asks.
Anatoly runs his hand through his hair again. “I don't know all I know is I want to be near her to help keep her safe.” He says.
Natalia lets out a quiet sigh, “How do you think she’s going to react when she remembers?”
Anatoly looks down, “The last time she did was hard, I found out that she had been told something about me from the person that killed her. I don't know how she’s going to feel when she remembers everything.” He answers.
Natalia was curious, “What was it that she found out?” She asks.
Anatoly let out a long breath. “She was told that I know how to make people immortal. My friend was all the proof she needed that it was true. I had helped make him immortal and he told her that right before he killed her.”
Natalia didn't get it at first. “Why would that upset her?”
Anatoly smiled at her, “Well think about it if you could be spared from another horrific death by becoming immortal and the man you love and who loves you knows how but doesn't wouldn't you be mad?”
Natalia thought about it for a few moments,” So then why would you not do it to save her?” She asks.
Anatoly sighs, “A few reasons, first it requires the sacrifice of an innocent , two if the gods don’t feel the sacrifice is good enough they could punish her and finally, I don’t want to be so selfish that I would have her someone just to stay with me.”
Natalya nodded once and then after a few moments she says, “That’s a choice you need to allow her to make. It needs to be her decision Anatoly not yours. Tell her the truth and let her decide for herself if it’s worth the risk...”
Anatoly nodded, “I guess that’s the only thing, I can do. Is give her the choice and all the warnings that come with it.”
Anatoly had made his decision he would tell her the truth and whatever she decided would be up to her. Either way she would either die on her twenty-first birthday or she would piss of the gods and die from them, but there was that chance that she could become immortal. And that was the hope that Anatoly held onto.
