Chapter 6

Estelle Juniper’s pov: I got to be honest I was happy about the idea of my mate trying to rescue me. Like I was a damsel in distress and he was my knight in shining armor. But, I also heard around the town, that it might be vampires around the town, and I know that is not good news. Even though I haven’t seen a wolf before a couple of months ago, I have run into a couple of vampires, and they weren’t the friendliest. Vampires are loners that don't usually stick together, but when they do, it’s not a good day for werewolves. “Are you sure you smelt a vampire?” “They haven’t been around in years, why are they popping up now?” “I don’t know alpha, but we are trying to figure it out.” I over heard a coversation in the hall outside of my room. I really hope that it wasn’t vampires, even though this isn’t my pack, if there is vampires around it is going to be dangerous for all packs. “You know it could’ve just been Vaycane.” I chisled my way into the coversation. “Werewolves are known to sometime carry some to give off the aroma of a vampire.” Vaycane is a herb that harms vampires, and can also smell like a vampire. “Go back to your room.” Flint shot back. The guard that Flint was talking with looked aggrivated with Flint’s response. But, I still slinked back into my room. The guard and Flint continued to debate about what happend. I heard some bits and pieces about the possiablty of Vaycane, but my idea was pretty much ignored. Alpine walked in right after Flint and the guard left. Flint storming off in defeat. “Was waiting for them to go.” “I think it is about time that we let you get back to your mate and pack.” I motionlessly agreed, I was ready to get back. “So you are just going to let me go? Won’t Flint be angry?” I asked, frowning. “Flint doesn’t control me, and who said anything about telling him that I was the one that let you go?” Alpine said, her hands on her hips and swaying. “No one.” I chuckled back. She gave me a backpack full of all the stuff I would need when traveling to my pack. “Thanks, I am eternally gratefull.” “Oh, it was no problem at all.” She smiled back at me. Then I left. I could hardly contain my excitement while journeying to the Crescent Pack. I am going to be able to see Steele again, and I couldn’t help but get excited about the idea. I now have distant memories of hating him, which I think was reasonable at the time. Now all I have for him is a deep, ussaturated love. Right when I went around one of the bends of the winding river that seperates the Blood Moon and Crescent Moon Packs, I saw it. The giant fir tree that is in the middle of the Crescent Moon Pack’s grounds. I immediatly started running towards it at the sight. It was dark, but I could see the outline, and it was marvelous. The warriors guarding the enterance to the pack were surpiresed by my frantic running. I stopped abruptly infront of them, heaving from my excursion. “Estelle?” The guard on the left questioned. “Yup- that’s me.” I answered, still catching my breath. They automatically let me in at my response. Once I got into the grounds, I tried to mind link Steele, but it seems that I am not offically in the pack yet. I was standing infront of the packhouse, getting ready to go in. When I heard footsteps and voices behind me, I swiftly turned around. Steele and I locked eyes for what felt like an eternity, I was fully enveloped by the deep blue of his eyes, piercing mine. I ran into his arms and tightly embraced him, and he passionatly kissed me, a devouring, intense kiss.
