The next 24 hours move in a blur, as our friends and allies convene upon us in Death Valley, arriving first are those from the Black Hills and Dark Moon in a caravan of SUVs. Travis steps out of the first, with Sarah, Trystan, Chad, and Jenni. I hug my family tight and thank them for coming.
“Of course, Jaessa. We will always come when you need us.” Sarah beams at me.
Trystan ruffles my hair as I swat at his hand. “Oh shucks, I didn’t realize I’d be putting up with you too.” I tease.
