Daniel POV
I had to get out of there. I found myself completely captivated by Jaessa and I had to fight the temptation of grabbing her into my arms and claiming her as mine before my entire pack. I’m now pacing in my office and Miguel enters without announcing himself, and just stands there quietly watching me as I continue to pace.
After a long moment, Miguel speaks, “Alpha?” I ignore him and continue wearing the rug on the office floor thin. “Daniel.” Miguel says firmly. I finally stop and turn to face my Beta. “Mind explaining what has gotten into you? Or should I make my own assumptions?” He says, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the wall.
