Jaessa POV
After a long, uncomfortable journey back to Death Valley pack’s territory, we finally reach the packhouse and I am quick to clamber out of the SUV.
“Where’s the fire, little assassin?” J smirks.
“In your loins.” Tara quips in response, thankfully her words reside only within my mind, however I can feel the scarlet warmth to my cheeks.
I glare briefly at J as he chuckles, in a smug, knowing sort of way.
Daniel approaches me, uncomfortably, and our eyes are locked momentarily before he clears his throat and says, “Um, let’s go to my office.” I nod and follow his lead, with Westley and J right behind us.
Once we reach the Alpha office, I realize he must have mind-linked his Beta and Gamma, as both Miguel and Johnny are already standing along the wall when we enter.
