Captured Fate

Chapter 8

    The next couple of days flew by faster than I had thought, Brian and I marked each other last night and the pack decided it was best to execute Lana and Shelby so they would not cause further damage. After their bodies were beheaded and burned the elders told me about a man that was very close with my parents before they were killed. They wanted me to meet him the day of my Luna ceremony, I agreed and thought to myself, maybe it would be good to have someone in my life who knew my parents, maybe he could tell me more about them. Today was now Thursday and we were overwhelmed with preparations for my luna ceremony, over the last week Amber and I have grown close and Natalie and Skyler welcomed her slowly but surely. We were currently all in the rec room going over designs and ideas for Saturday when I heard a voice, KEEP HER SAFE, it made me startled and I looked around the room. 

Leigha, what was that?

I do not know, who is 'her' it spoke of?

I dunno but let's keep our eyes and ears open. 

    I looked around the room at the girls and figured it would be best if I told them what Leigha and I just heard. "Hey, guys?" I asked, not sure if maybe they heard it too. "Yeah Mar?" they all asked in unison, "did any of you hear a voice just now? Like not your wolf but something or someone else?" they all looked at me with confused expressions on their faces. I will take that as a no then, I told them what had just happened and they looked baffled. "None of us heard anything, maybe it's the fact that you're a royal?" Skyler asked. "I mean maybe, but what does it even mean?" "Obviously it means to keep her safe, duh," Amber said making us all laugh. "Yeah but who?" I asked while calming down my laughs. After I asked that everybody's faces fell and went silent. Natalie perked up, "Who knows but hey we will all keep each other safe, right?" She looked at all of us lifting our spirits. 

    "We should get back to the designs for my Luna ceremony." I looked at the girls, who nodded back in agreement. I looked back down at the work we have done, we're going to have silver and black balloons, maybe a couple of white balloons in honor of my parents and pack. I have no idea what my dress will be because Maggie and Mrs. Jones are making it together, I should get to see it tomorrow so we know it fits and if they want to put any last-minute touches to it. As nervous as I am, I also am really excited. Not only will I become the official luna of the Silver Mountain pack, but we can also finally tell them who I am and Leigha will get to run free finally. She's been itching to get out since we first shifted. I'm also a little curious about the man who was close to my parents, I wonder what he'll be like.

[Kaden's POV]

    Today was going to be hectic, it's the day of her luna ceremony at Silver Mountain, and uncle Apollo is going psychotic because of it. The elders invited him because he was close with her parents or something like that and he can't seem to calm down. I looked up into the hallway mirror and scowled when I saw my reflection, that b***h Apollo can't seem to get over took out my eye a few years ago, granted I get why but still, I'm a one-eyed freak because of her. "KADEN!" I could hear my uncle shouting at me from down the hall, "Yes uncle?" I turned my head to look at him. "I'm going to go alone to this thing if anybody calls to ask or drops by pretend to be sick or something." I rolled my eyes but nodded in compliance. I don't get his obsession with her but that's all on him. 

    I walked out of the packhouse and started up the car for my uncle, he would be gone for a few days so I could finally relax a bit. He walked out with two suitcases and I put them in the trunk before turning to say my goodbyes to him. "Be smart about this, don't get caught because you let your emotions control you and you act out on impulse." he nodded and got in the car, sometimes we could have civil conversations and confrontations, but the rest of the time he treats me like s**t. I get the fact that he doesn't want to deal with me but we are family he has no choice. As soon as he started to drive off I let out a deep sigh, finally, I get to be alone.

[Skyler's POV]

    "Amara, calm down, you look beautiful so stop worrying." Mar sniffled as I wiped her tears away, "You can see my scars, what if they all laugh at me?" I scoffed at her, "Are you kidding me? Everybody out there will see that their luna is a fighter and they will be proud!" that made her smile and chuckle a little bit. "Okay, then let's do this." She sat down as I started to do her makeup, I chose to do a black and silver smokey eye with a rosy pink lipgloss. She didn't even need anything else because her face was flawless, and besides, she hated the feeling of makeup on her skin. When I got done I smiled at my work, "There, all done. You will be the best luna." I spun her around in the chair so she could look into the vanity mirror. "Thank you sky, this looks amazing and I love it." she stood up and gave me a long hug.

    "We should get going, people are going to arrive soon and you need to greet them." She nodded and we walked out of my room and walked down to the first floor. She is going to be an amazing luna and I cannot wait to fight by her side. I left Amara with Brian and I walked over to Natalie who was in the hangout area by the rec room. "Hey girl what's up?" she asked as I was coming to sit down. "I just left Mar, she's so nervous and I feel so bad for her. The elders still haven't found out who had her and it's driving her crazy and making her overly stressed out." I shrugged my shoulders as I plopped down on the couch across from Natalie and Derek. "Today is stressful for all of us, but hey at least we will finally get a Luna again," Derek said with a confident smile.

[Amara's POV]

    Last night I became the luna of the Silver Mountain pack, When everybody's minds were one by one linking with mine it felt so liberating. They were shocked when Leigha came out before the run, but they all bowed and ran by my side around the pack territory. The fact that I finally had a family again, a pack, makes me ecstatic. I met the man who the elders were talking about and he seems kind, his name is Apollo and he is the alpha of his own pack, the Red Moon pack, we didn't get to talk much last night but he and I have made plans for the next few days to get to know each other and he promised to tell me stories about my parents. In all honesty, I cannot wait to hear about them from someone who was friends with them. 

    Brian has been really sweet to me, he even temporarily moved into my room since I don't want to leave this bed for his bed just yet. I slipped on some sweats and gave Brian a kiss on the forehead before heading downstairs to the library, I've come to find that the library is my favorite room in the packhouse, it's quiet and honestly, it's f*cking massive. I never knew there could be so many books until now. As I walked into the library I went over to the electric fireplace and turned it on, I then grabbed a book called 'War Horse' and sat down in a cozy chair, and began reading. 

    I had no idea how much time had passed until Amber shook my shoulder, "Are you ever going to eat? It's lunchtime and you never came out for breakfast." My jaw dropped, had I really been reading for that long? I picked up a bookmark and placed it between the pages I had left off in. We walked into the kitchen to grab our food before sitting down. "Well, it's about time! I tried ming linking you earlier but you had a block up, you sure do love reading don't you?" Brian teased as I took a bite of mac 'n' cheese. I just shrugged my shoulders, "Anyways what time are you and Apollo going to meet up?" Dominik asked me while stuffing his face with smoked sausage. "We were thinking about sixish maybe, this way he gets settled into his room and gets to know the place." 

    The rest of our lunch was just chit-chat about everything going on, by the time we were done eating I had started to ignore everybody and just zone out. I stood up to clear my place and walked into the kitchen, just as an omega was taking my plate a little pup came up to me, "Luna how did you get your scars?" he asked me while tugging at my pant leg. I let out a little laugh as I got down, "Well, some very bad men used to hurt me before I came here but I'm okay now little one." I said as he looked at me full of wonder, "When I grow up to be big and strong I will find those boys and make them pay." he said as he formed a small frown.

     "Boys?" I asked wondering why he would call them boys, "Yeah, my mommy taught me to never hurt a lady and if they hurt you then they will never be men." He let out a huff of air. "Little pup, your mother has taught you well, thank you for making me proud and I look forward to seeing you grow up to be a fierce warrior." I ruffled his hair, "You should go play with the other pups now mister..?" "Jude, my name is Jude Luna." He giggled, "Well mister Jude, do be on your way and let me know if you ever need anything." I smiled as I shooed him off. Seeing such a young pup who is so sweet and fierce almost makes me excited to have my own pups someday. I smiled as I walked back to the library to finish my book. 

[Brian's POV]

    I told Amara she could relax for today and that is precisely what she's doing. I know that she is still healing from her trauma and I just want her to feel safe again. Last night after the run she kept having nightmares that they would find her again and take her. I had to soothe her back to sleep so many times until I finally was unable to stay awake any longer. She's my angel sent from the moon goddess and I just want to protect her, I want to rip the troats out of everybody who has ever hurt her, but I can't we don't even know who they are.

Something doesn't feel right about that Apollo guy

What do you mean Chaos?

I just mean I don't like the feeling I have when he looks at our mate.

    Chaos was right, I didn't like the feeling we had any time he looked at Amara, but that could just be the fact that he is a man, and an unmated alpha at that.
