Jason’s mom and dad picked him up on Sunday to drive him home. By Tuesday he was able to limp around the house. On Friday he went up to Shepherd’s to hang out for awhile. On Saturday morning, Betty Jean came by his house. He took her out to sit on the porch swing. He told her that he would be leaving for school in a few months, and that she needed to find a boyfriend her age who would be around for two more years. She cried and begged him to date her until the end of the school year, but he told her that wouldn’t be good for either one of them. She left crying. Jason felt like a jerk.
