Eirina
I wake up in the afternoon. My stomach hurts. I want to eat. I look next to me and I see that John has left... I sign... it was good. s*x was soooo good. He is better now than years ago... I guess after me, he had a lot of women in his arms... I stand up and I see my phone... I have 20 missed calls... all from my family... I sign again... I call my mum... in the third ring she answer
“Hi mum...”
“Eirina...? We are in the hospital... your dad wasn’t feeling well, so we came here...” she says and I sense that she is a bit worried
“Is everything ok mum?”
“Yes sweetheart, the doctors will just examine him and we will return at home... don’t worry”
I worry... I hung off and I get dressed. I tell a maid that I am going out and to call a bodyguard. I choose to take my car and I am driving to the hospital.
Outside the hospital I see some paparazzi. s**t! How am I supposed to get inside? My bodyguard stops the car in the entrance area and helps me get out of the car. I look down and head to the hospital entrance.
“Eirina, how is your father?” “Eirina, tell us about the baby.” “Why did you marry him now?” “Will you manage to have another baby? Is there any gynaecological problem?” I hear them ask... oh my god... I never knew that they would be so rude or they would ask me so personal questions.
The hospitals staff guide me to my mother...
“Eirina...”
“Mum? How is dad?”
“He is good, sweetheart. He needs to rest... he is ok.”
“Ok...”
“Eirina darling... we read the newspapers... is it true?” She asks worried... what should I tell?...
“Yes mum... I was pregnant with John’s child... but I lost it...”
“Honey? Why didn’t you tell us? Why? Was it when you lived with your friend Anna for a couple of days?”
“Yes... I lost the baby when I was almost one month pregnant. I went to the hospital and later I stayed at Anna’s apartment... I didn’t want to worry you mum...”
“Is it true that he abandoned you?”
I sign and shake my hand
“Yes...”
I seems worried... and angry...
“How did the reporters find out?”
“I don’t know mum... but John will soon know... but we have to be very careful from now on... I mean, they hunt us...”
“Yes, I know... we will honey... we don’t want to cause you or John any problem...”
We stop for a while... and then I hear whispers in the corridor... I look and I see in front of me John... me and mum stand up...
“Hey...”
“Hey, how is your dad?”
“Good... they have taken him for some exams...”
“Ok... so we are waiting... Mrs. Black...” he greets my mum
“Hi honey, how are you?”
“Fine mrs Black... I contacted the cottage in order to speak to Eirina and they informed me that she came here... I didn’t know that Mr. Black was here...”
“Don’t worry honey, my husband is a strong man, we will get out of here in no time... he just... we just” she hesitates “we read the newspapers and he didn’t feel good”
John nods... we don’t tell anything else for a couple of time. The doctors said he needs to rest, so he will stay at the hospital tonight. We leave all together. We accompany my mum to her house and we head to our cottage. We don’t talk. What should we say? I mean... yes, we had s*x. Good sex... but what is the status of our relationship now? Should we talk about it?
We stop by the door, we go inside and I am heading to my apartments. After some minutes someone knocks
“Come in...”
it is John. He has changed his clothes.
“Let’s go and eat something..”
“Thanks but I am not hungry...”
“Eirina... you have to eat something... they have informed me that you haven’t eaten anything all day”
“I didn’t have time..”
“Yeah, but now you have... so, join me in the dining room...”
“John...”
“Please...”
I sign
“Ok... just give me some time to change clothes...”
He leaves. I take a shower, change clothes and go downstairs to the dining room.
We eat without saying anything. I don’t know how to start a conversation... we finish our dinner and together we head to our apartments. We stop outside mine
“Goodnight John...”
“Eirina... will you sleep?”
“No, I don’t think so... I will probably read a book...”
“Would you like to play with me monopoly?”
I am a little surprised
“Monopoly?...”
“Yes... don’t you remember?”
Remember? Remember what? And then... yes... he is referring to a promise we made sometime... if we wanted to argue, we should just play monopoly and discuss it... but we aren’t arguing... so, he is proposing to talk about the past? The future? About everything?
“Do we have the monopoly?”
“I will go and bring it.”
“Ok, I am waiting for you.”
Sometime later we start to play
“Eirina...”
“Yes John?”
“I have my man searched everything about the newspapers story... so far we know that a man who worked at the hospital and had access to your records approached the newspapers and sold the story”
“How is he?”
“His name is Antony Mc Denialo. A Spain doctor.”
“I see... and now? Can we sue him or the newspapers?”
“We can both but this is going to be hard... I mean, will for sure publish the sue records and inform the country about the trial...”
“And right now we don’t want that... right?”
“No honey... I believe... my lawyers believe that the best way to win them is to remain silenced.”
“Mmmmmm, I see”
“Also.... maybe you should inform your parents and your brothers family... maybe the paparazzi will go ask them or chase them... we have to be really careful this time Eirina... I have my men searched this Antony. When we will find him, we will learn why he did this...”
“Ok, John. Thanks.”
He comes close to me, he hugs me and kiss me on the cheeks...
“I am so sorry Eirina... for everything”
“Don’t be John... everything is at the past... I just wish I had my baby... I wanted that baby”
“I know kitty... he or she would be a lovely child...”
I start cry and he wipe my tears...
“Come on baby girl... you will be pregnant again... everything will be alright.” He comforts me and he kisses me gently on my lips. We continue to play monopoly.
The next day I wake up and John is by my side. He didn’t let go of me. He just slept next to me, without even touching me. He is a gentleman, for sure...
I think about this Antony... why on earth he did this? I think I don’t know this person... why did he want to hurt me with this way?
