Brooklynne's POV:
It's been a couple of weeks now and today is now my first day of school. I've managed to pretty much stay away from Mr. Hawkins. He was home for a week but last week he went back to work and has been getting home pretty late like he usually did. His being at work made it much easier to avoid him.
I got up pretty early and took a shower and got dressed. I was so nervous about starting at a new school but what I'm mostly nervous about is getting treated like an outsider since I didn't grow up here. They will know as soon as I talk since I don't have their accent. It's weird if you think about it. You love hearing others have an accent but when you are somewhere where you are the one that sounds different, it makes you feel out of place.
