Brooklynne's POV: I hated the idea of looking for an evening dress for dinner. I always imagined those as long dresses and those never fit me. I'm too short for them and I'm not about to go to the child section to find something that fits. That on its own is too embarrassing. Yet here I am, standing in this gorgeous red dress as Mr. Hawkins tries to get me to pick out some shoes in hopes that it will make me tall enough. Never works. It's not like I've never tried.
