The Mission Had Started Counting Down
First Day...
[ 'Chance Encounter' as the First Mission Strategy to Approach the Devil ]
~~*****~~
'Oh my, the Devil is coming! She let out an inner gasp.
Badum! Badum!
Racheal's pulse raced during the brief encounter with the Devil's gaze. To her ears, it seemed too loud. She was baffled as to why her body was responding in this way. It seemed improbable that she would experience fear and intimidation from anybody.
But the guy in front of her had the power to influence her feelings. She questioned if she was the only one experiencing this towards Rhea Sparks or whether it was the normal response of the body's original owner.
Did she feel nervous that Rhea might recognize her? She was unsure about the precise response.
Come on, please. Don't blow this chance. "Stop worrying," Racheal told herself. She relaxed by closing her eyes and inhaling deeply.
She heard footsteps approaching. She could see little Yung and his dad approaching. As soon as she opened her eyes, she was met by two attractive men—a kid and a man.
The kid next her was staring at her sternly, but the little one was grinning endearingly at her. His penetrating glance swept over her face and then across her body, going from head to toe and back again.
She raised an eyebrow as if to query him, "What are you looking at?," momentarily forgetting her intention to win his approval."
Yung called out to Racheal, "Miss Rac!" with a lot of enthusiasm. Just as he moved to take her hand, Rhea grabbed his son's shoulders to stop him.
Rhea said directly, "Who are you and did you approach my son on purpose to get some rewards?"
Rac scowled in frustration at his behavior. She couldn't blame him, however. All Rhea was doing was exercising caution and guarding Yung. Her present outfit, which included a black mask and a hat, gave off a very ominous vibe, as if she was planning something sinister.
Only three hours had passed since her awakening. Racheal's body was taken over by Elara's spirit, and she has chosen to adopt this persona. She was on her unique assignment, and it was Day One of a hundred-day countdown!
Drawing on her experiences and the details she had learned about the Supreme Leader of the Lyra Mafia, she devised a strategy for approaching Rhea Sparks in a way that would not raise suspicions. A 'chance meeting' that isn't real may work!
She searched her mind frantically before devising the winning plan! To the best of her memory, the lady she killed two years before had an extramarital son with the Devil. Yung sparks
In all honesty, the Devil's intuition was correct. She had a personal reason for contacting them, and she was in fact plotting something against him. But all Racheal would have to do to seem innocent to this father and son pair would be to pretend.
"Oh Sir," Racheal said, covering her lips as if she was taken aback by his charge.
Her question was accompanied by a foolish grin. "Are you sure you are the father of this charming boy?" she inquired.
"Your son doesn't look like you. He is an angel while his father is a devil," Racheal said. Rhea's visage became unpleasant and bitter as he heard her comments.
Whoops! Racheal, unable to stop herself from making fun of Rhea, lightly struck her lips. It was only a verbal mishap!
Oh no. I'm expected to attract his attention and get his appreciation! Not to irritate him,' Racheal reprimanded herself quietly. She bit her lip, bringing her head down out of Rhea's lethal look. Her muttering continued, "I'm doomed!"
It was quiet for a while. Racheal did not look at him, but she could still feel a shiver go down her spine since Rhea's eyes were locked on hers.
"Why am I feeling like this? Is the owner's physique tense with males all the time? She persisted in attributing these strange and ludicrous emotions to the original occupant of her borrowed body.
Elara never showed fear. But for some reason, at this moment, Rhea's domineering presence was getting to her. Perhaps she was still getting adjusted to her new physique.
After some while, a little boy's sharp giggle broke the tense stillness between them. Finally, the two realised they weren't alone. It had been a long time since they'd nearly forgotten about Little Yung.
The two turned their attention to the little child who was glancing between Rhea and Racheal.
Little Yung had chosen to step in because he was worried that Rhea and Racheal would get even more tense.
Little Yung brightened the situation with a joyful, "Miss Rac, believe it or not, this is my real dad. Though our appearances don't have a strong resemblance, he is as handsome as me, isn't he?"
With a sardonic look, Racheal could neither affirm nor reject Little Yung's assertion. Rhea, on the other hand, kept his demeanour neutral and icy. By now, he would have returned to his office if it weren't for his son.
Little Yung used his charm to persuade his father to accept. "Dad, this is the Lady whom I mentioned to you a while ago. She is coming with us tonight to Grandpa's birthday party! I hope you don't have any objections." His cute face and puppy eyes were fixed on him as he stared at him.
With bated breath, Racheal only remained quiet, waiting for the devil to answer. This crucial event was the first step towards her mission's accomplishment. She needed to spend more time with Rhea and her family. And this was your first chance to accomplish it!
With her eyes fixated on his, Racheal swallowed hard and said, "Please say yes."
God knows how long it took, but at last Rhea responded to them. Not bothering to disguise his disapproval of her present appearance, he said, "Fine. We can bring her. But she had to wear proper dress."
Little Yung leaped and gave his father a hug on his right thigh, saying, "Yey! Thanks, Dad! You are the best."
Indeed! Racheal was able to breathe regularly again.
