Infidelity

The alarm sounded and Alanna turned it off. She turned around and kept sleeping. Then another alarm sounded. The services for the officers who died in the Main Street crash were starting that morning. Alanna was still sleepy after coming home late the night before. She struggled to get out of bed. Alanna covers her head with a pillow. Then she feels Matthew’s hand caressing her back.

Alanna jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. She took a cold shower to wake up and got dressed. She left her hair down to be quick. Alanna left her black suit and blue button-up shirt ready the night before, so she just put it on and walked out of the room. She left the house before Matthew woke up.

Alanna stopped at a 24-hour diner on the way to the funeral home. She picked up a milkshake and rushed to the funeral home. Alanna arrived before Carol. She turned on the lights, set up the cafeteria, put on the coffee, and inspected the bathrooms.

Carol arrived with a wreath and a box of pastries. Alanna was sitting in her office drinking her milkshake when she saw Carol struggling to open the front door. Alanna forgot to unlock it. Alanna ran to the door. She grabbed the handle to open it. As she turned it, Carol loses the grip on the pastry box and they fell all over the floor. Thankfully, Carol manages to hold on to the wreath.

Alanna apologized by grabbing the wreath. Carol smiled and said, “I’ll pick up more. Thank goodness the services don’t start for half an hour. Alanna told her, “I’ll take care of this. Can you please pick up more pastries? Oh, and can you pick up three boxes instead?” Carol nodded and rushed back to her car. Alanna looked at the wreath. She admired its beauty while she took it to the room where the younger officer's service was taking place. She ordered a wreath for him because the young widow didn’t have the money to do so and she didn’t know if his family was going to help her.

After Alanna set up the wreath, she rushed to the cleaning-supplied closet and grabbed what she needed to clean the mess at the entrance. Alanna worked fast. She had the front looking great before Carol got back with the pastries. Carol arrived but this time Alanna was ready, waiting for her with a rolling car. They placed the boxes on the cart. Alanna asked Carol to take a seat and relax before people started arriving and she took the pastries to the cafeteria. Alanna set the pastries. Then she stepped back and took a good look around the cafeteria. Everything looked great. She left the door open and went straight to her office. Alanna washed her hands and her face. Finally, she was able to relax a little before people started coming.

Alanna sat at her desk and turned on her computer. Jack’s smile brought a smile to her face. Her phone rang. Jack was calling her. Alanna looked at Jack’s picture on the computer and said, “not right now.” She clicked on the keyboard and Jack's picture was gone at the same time that the phone stopped ringing.

Alanna took a deep breath and opened a document that she was working on. Alanna had been thinking of raising Carol's pay. Carol was a trustworthy employee. She works so hard and never complains. Alanna had been looking for a way to compensate her for all her hard work, but all she could come up with was, to give her a race. However, today she saw Carol go through so many problems without losing her smile and it made her realize that Carol loved that place as much as she did. Alanna called her accountant and asked him to give Carol 50% of the funeral home. Then she called the lawyer to make it official.

People began to arrive for the officer’s services, so Alanna opened her office door. She could keep an eye on the lobby from her desk as she wrote a letter to inform Carol about their new partnership. She finished the letter. Then she printed the paperwork and grabbed a folder to put it in. She taped the letter on the front of the folder. Alanna grabbed the stack of papers from the printer and sat down with it. She went through the papers and signed everywhere her signature was required. Alanna finished signing all the papers. She placed them inside the folder when she was startled by the sound of her office door closing.

Alanna looked up and found a tall man locking her door. She was going to shout at the man when she recognized his back. Jack turned around and smiled. “Good morning beautiful,” he said, walking towards Alanna. Alanna became extremely agitated. She wondered what he was going to do. As Jack got closer, Alanna’s heart began to beat faster.

Jack saw the fear in Alanna’s eyes, so he stopped getting closer and told her, “ Please don’t be scared. I just wanted to see you.” Alanna walked around the desk and stood in front of him. She looked at his eyes and took a deep breath, “What are you here?” Jack walked closer and said, “I needed to see you.” Alanna couldn’t handle having him so close. She turned around and asked him to leave. Jack moved closer to her. his body pressed against hers. He fixed Alanna’s hair to the side and shoved his face between her collar and her neck. He sniffed her neck and then brought his face up her neck slowly, rubbing his nose and lips against it. Alanna felt his warm breath on her neck. She left a soft moan as he stopped on her ear. Jack whispers, “close your eyes.” Alanna does as he says. Then Jack wraps an arm around Alanna and kisses her neck.

Alanna shouts, “stop” and pushes away. Jack follows her and traps her with his hands on the wall. Alanna stands still between his arms and tells Jack in a soft voice, “we can do this.” Jack uses his right hand to fix her hair again and whispers into her ear, “I won't touch you. Just close your eyes again.” Alanna closes her eyes again. She stays still listening to Jack breathe next to her ear, smelling his cologne, and feeling his body press against hers. As Alanna’s breath became agitated, Jack whispered into her ear, “slide your hand into your pants and I’ll do the same.” Alanna didn’t do as he said, so Jack opened her pants and gently grabbed her hand. Alanna leaned against Jack as he slid her hand into her pants. Once her hand was inside, Jack slid his hand down and whispered to her, “It is not bad if you are doing it yourself.” Alanna began to rub herself softly. Jack moaned into her ear, “Oh, my love.” He slid his hand into his pants and began to stroke himself softly. Jack placed his left arm back on the wall for support and kept his face next to Alanna’s face. He breathed heavily as he stroked himself faster and Alanna moaned as she touched herself. Jack’s breath became stronger and warmer. Alanna turned away from his face to avoid the temptation to kiss him. As she became more aroused, she dug her face into his arm and drowned her moans in his black jacket. Jack presses his face against her neck and moans as he gets closer to finishing. Alanna turns her head and presses her forehead against Jack. Alanna’s legs shook as she was about to finish. Then they both finished together as they had done before. Alanna takes a deep breath and Jack sighs. They held their position until their breath went back to normal. Alanna pulled her hand out of her pants and zipped them up. Jack kept his hand on his pants and asked Alanna if he could clean up in her bathroom. Alanna nodded quietly.

Alanna turned around and watched Jack walk to the bathroom with his hand inside his pants. In another time she would have laughed, but today she wanted to cry. She looked at the man she loved closing the bathroom door in front of her like a stranger. She wrapped her hand around herself and asked herself, “Why am I doing this? I want Jack, I need him, I can’t lie to myself anymore.” Jack came out of the bathroom with his suit straightened up. Alanna looked at him as he walked slowly close to her. They stared at each other seriously, with a guilty look. Jack got to Alanna and grabbed her hand. He interlocks their fingers together and brought them up to his face. He closed his eyes and kissed her hand. Then he opened his eyes and looked straight at Alanna. Alanna blinked and looked down.

Jack let go of her hand and apologized and began to walk away. Alanna rushed next to him and exclaimed, “let me get the door.” Jack stopped by the door and watched Alanna unlocking it. Alanna stared into his eyes as she slowly opened the door. Once the door was unlocked, Alanna caressed Jack's face and left the hand on his face looking at his eyes. Jack placed his hand on top of Alanna’s hand and pressed it against his face and took a deep breath. He let go of her hand. Alanna took hers off his face and they opened the door. Jack smiled at Alanna and walked away.

Alanna stared at Jack walking away with a big smile. Then Carol interrupts her, “You look too happy to be at a funeral.” Alanna stops smiling immediately and hopes nobody notices. Then she turned to Carol and said, “I have something that will hopefully make you as happy as I look.”

Alanna rushes back into her office and Carol sits at her desk waiting to see what Alanna has for her. Then Alanna approached her desk from the front and handed her a folder. Carol read the letter on the front of the folder and looked up at Alanna with tears in her eyes. Carol asked Alanna, confused, “Are you sure about this?” Alanna smiled and nodded. Carol jumped out of her chair and hugged Alanna. People began to stare, so Alanna told Carol, “We celebrate later. For now, just sign up the papers and send them to the lawyer to make it official.” Carol tried to keep her excitement under control and rushed to sign the documents.

The next day, Alanna called Jack early, but he didn’t answer, so she left him a message. She asked him to call her back because she needed to talk to him. Alanna received a call from the daycare asking her to come over because there was a problem with one of the pipes. Alanna asked Carol to take care of the funeral home and she went to the daycare.

Alanna arrives at the daycare and Daisy informs her that one of the children’s bathroom sinks was clogged. Alanna took her jacket off and went to the basement to look for the snake to unclog the sink. She tried the snake, but she couldn’t get it in. Alanna went to her office, grabbed an apron and rolled her sleeves up. She took the pipes apart and found a toy stuck. She pulled the toy out and put the pipes back together. Then she tried it and it was working fine, so she cleaned up and went to the bathroom to clean herself up.

When she came out of the bathroom, she found Jack waiting for her. He was wearing a gray suit with his dad’s tie. Alanna recognized it from the Smith trial. Jack looked worried. As Alanna walked towards him, she asked, “Is everything okay?” Jack nodded with a smile. Alanna walked towards Jack. She caressed his chest where the tie laid and said, “you dad’s tie?” Jack smiled and nodded. Then Alanna guided him into her office.

Daisy and Jenny watched Jack and Alanna behave as if nobody was around. Daisy looked at Jenny with her eyebrows raised and said, “She has no shame.”

In the office, Alanna locked the door and walked toward Jack. She caressed his face and kissed his neck. Then she began to kiss his chest and took his jacket off. Alanna loosened up Jack's tie and took it off. Then she began to unbutton his shirt and kiss his chest. Jack was in shock at first, but once he realized what was happening. Jack grabbed Alanna’s waist and picked her up. He sits her on top of her desk, and he begins to kiss her passionately. They opened their mouths widely, desperately tangling their tongues and barely leaving any time to breathe. They bit each other’s lips, sucked them, and almost ate each other’s faces off. Jack pressed his body against Alanna and unbuttoned her shirt and pulled off her bra. They embraced their naked bodies while kissing desperately. They moan into each other’s mouths as their hands explored their bodies. Alanna began to unbutton Jack’s pants and Jack held her hand. The kissing stopped and Alanna looked at Jack confused. Jack caressed Alanna’s face and began to dress her up. Alanna grabbed his face and asked, “what happened?” Jack continued dressing her without looking at her eyes. Alanna became uncomfortable and jumped off the desk to finish buttoning her shirt. Jack buttoned his shirt back on and picked up his tie and jacket from the floor. Once dressed, Jack grabs Alanna and kisses her. Then he tells her, “I want you, but not like this. This is not the place.” Alanna kissed him passionately. Jack holds her tighter and tells her, “I love you.” Jack lets her go and walks away. Alanna embraces herself confused.

As Jack walks out of the building, Matthew arrives. Jack felt horrible, so he approaches Matthew and tells him, “I’m so sorry.” Matthew looks at Jack sadly. His eyes were red as if he had been crying. Then Matthew tells Jack, “Don’t worry, this is nobody’s fault. The heart wants what the heart wants.” Jack shook Matthew's hand and padded his back. Matthew thanked him. Jack continued to his car, wondering how Matthew was so calm.
