Katrina unbuckled the seatbelt as Collin pulled up in front of the house. She turned to thank him for saving her after Yasmin disappeared. “You live here?” Collin asked, checking out the house from the windscreen. Katrina nodded, “Just for a while” she affirmed. As soon as her mother is well again, she would move out of the Holloway mansion and forfeit the inheritance. Collin turned to her and smile with a nod. “Can I have your number? It’s just for calling to keep you well-informed about your Mum” he added quickly, looking a bit nervous. She nodded and gave him her number mumbling another words of appreciation before getting down. Collin did not drive away immediately, he watched her for a minute until she had disappeared into the big gate. Just as he ignite the car, someone grabbed his door and opened it. Yasmin stood outside, staring at him. He stopped the car and waited for her to enter. “How did it go?” she asked impatiently. “What did you expect?” Collin said, his nervous face gone and replaced with arrogant confidence. A smirk spread on Yasmin’s lips. “Just help keep her busy and distracted until I get Jace Holloway” she stated and Collin paused. “You’re going to hurt your friend because of a boy? She seemed like a good kid who really trust you” he said but a scowl crept on Yasmin’s face. “She’s not as innocent as she seemed. That b***h always steals the heart of every men I want” she said with too much spite in her gaze. “You should be careful too, do not fall for her” she warned but Collin chuckled. “She’s not my type. Too young” he told her and Yasmin breathed out relief. She got out of the car and Collin drove away in seconds. … Katrina took a slow pause as her eyes caught Jace’s door, she wondered if he was in there. She was still quite shook from his forced kiss and wished she could push the thought out of her head. After waiting for about a minute, she grabbed her door knob and entered her room. Inside the shower, her mind went back to the kiss and her body shivered a bit, her face flushed. She placed her palms on her cheeks, as if to conceal but it was all useless. She could still feel it, the taste of his lips, hot and demanding against hers. The way his breathes hit her skin, sending adrenaline rush through her spine, and making her dumb in his presence. ‘Gosh, why didn’t I punch him?’ she thought frustratingly. ‘Or pulled away from him?’ She shook her head to push It all away but it was impossible. His words lingered in her ears. ‘Does it taste familiar?’ his voice seemed to be in her head. Katrina ’s expression furrowed slowly. She could not understand what he meant by familiar, ‘Has he kissed her before then?’ She also remembered him saying that he hasn’t been able to forget her, ‘does that mean that they really have met before now? Katrina ran her fingers through her wet hair trying to see if she recollect any encounter with him in the past. She remembered the first time he saw him. It was when her mother had brought her to eat dinner with Morris Holloway for the first time. He had walked out of the room in a fist of anger that made Katrina so frightened she couldn’t say a word. So when her Mum asked her to move into the Holloway mansion she refused because she was afraid of living with someone like him. She never thought she would be forced to live with him now. When she starts to feel a shiver because of the long hour under the shower, she switched it off and changed to light clothes before grabbing the pillows. As she lay down, Katrina could not stop the thoughts from coming. But soon, sleep found her and she drifted away to dreamland. ... Katrina wake up early and apply a light make-up to her face before carrying her bag and hurry out of the room only to be met y Margot and few maids waiting for her downstairs. They all bowed politely. "Breakfast is ready" Margot informed. Katrina stared at them, she has been trying to let herself get used to this sudden unusual treatment from Margot. Ever since the night Jace kissed her, she hasn't seen him. Probably because he didn't want to see her face. But it seemed he had given Margot an order before leaving to take good care of her, like she was some child that needs to be taken care of. And for what it was worth, she was being treated like the real owner of the mansion. "I'm running late for my first class" she informed but Margot stopped her before she could make a move forward. "You still have forty-five minutes before your class, the driver is ready to drive you to college. You need to eat something on the first day so you won't get so tired" Margot respond. Katrina was astonished, wondering how she knew what time her classes started. She nodded and walked to the dinning table to eat the meal prepared for her. After she was done, she stepped outside and a car pulled right in front of her. The driver came out, looking quite hefty, more like a bodyguard. It seemed like Jace was putting her under watch and control. Katrina did not fight it but got into the car instead. The ride to school was too quiet and boring but it gave her time to prepare for the first class. When Katrina got to the college, everywhere was bustling, different people walking around, dressed in different fashion that made her feel overwhelmed for a second. She looked down on the casual white top and jeans trouser she was putting on and wished she had a dress and boots on instead. Taking a long nervous inhale, she approached the lecture hall, trying to find her first class. The first room she found was already filled with students and she stood confused for a moment not sure who to approach. As more students hurry in, she was pushed inside and found herself standing in front of the class. She tried to go back but she was pushed around until an arm grabbed her shoulder. A bit flinched, she turned around to see Collin standing behind her. "What are you doing here?" He asked, a questioning flicker passed through his eyes. "I'm...finding my class" Katrina stuttered a bit. Collin let go of her shoulder "What class is that? Maybe I can help" he asked, putting his glasses up a bit. "Communication studies" she replied, and brought out her class schedule to show him. Collin took the piece of paper and looked at it for a second before turning back to Katrina with a bewildered countenance. "You're a freshman?" He asked, clearly surprised.
