Jace froze for a moment there, unable to move, unable to look away from her ocean blue eyes which was looking cute despite the anxiety in her gaze. It made him remember that night, two years ago at the club house. She was looking just as innocent and anxious as now. He remembered how she flinched whenever he gets closer and how hypnotizing her smile was, when she slowly let it out nervously. The image had been stuck in his head all these while. He was still lost in his memories when Katrina suddenly forced her body up in a rush. Jace slowly get out of his trance and also got up, his once hard face was a bit soften up as his heart seemed melted. “Are you stalking me?” She blurted suddenly, her voice a little shaky. A hard frown took over Jace’s expression quickly, he turned to her with a disbelief chuckle. “Stalk you? Why would I do that?” he asked. Katrina clenched her fists in a defensive way. “If not, what are you doing here?” she questioned, her voice raised. Jace forced another chuckle looking around for a bit. He lean close. “I go to school here, freak” he informed, and walked away with that. Katrina stood for a long moment, trying to process the new information. ‘Why on earth is he a student here?’ her head screamed. “Oh no” she muttered, her hands dropped to the ground. She was still standing in a daze when Yasmin appeared behind her and gave her a scare. Katrina flinched hard, her heart almost jumping out of her chest. “Hey!” she let out, after seeing it’s her. “I’m sorry” Yasmin apologized. “I didn’t mean to frighten you that much” she said with a smirk on her face. She looked at the direction where Jace had disappeared, her expression became sinister for a moment. “The one you were with... your boyfriend?” she asked, turning to her with a wide grin that hides her intention. “What? No! He’s... Jace Holloway” Katrina introduced, his name heavy on her lips. Yasmin’s eyes widened, astounded. Her head snapped back to the direction as if he was still there. “How could this be?” she thought in her head. It took her seconds to get over her shock and turned to Katrina again. “Whoa, what a surprise” she gave a nervous chuckle. “Yeah” Katrina replied. “He’s out to make my life miserable” she lamented. Yasmin shot a confused gaze at her, wondering if she did not recognize him. His unforgettable aura, and chiselled jawline that would make any girl want to give their lives to him. If she had known that he was the Holloway’s heir, she would have done anything that night, two years ago, to get his attention. “You don’t remember him?” she asked Katrina , with a heated mind. Katrina squinted a bit, not sure what she meant. “Of course I do. He’s Morris Holloway only son and my housemate now” she said with bitterness in her voice. Yasmin’s lips spread in a wide, pleased smile. It seemed that she had no recollection of him. She decided to keep shut. Since she doesn’t remember him, that means she could still steal him for herself. “Why don’t you let me move in with you then? I could protect you against him” she suggested. Katrina paused, considering it. But then she became afraid that she might upset Jace more. Yasmin saw the hesitation in her eyes and grabbed her arm immediately. “Come on, I would be your knight in shinning armour” she pleaded, with her usual fake innocent expression. … Back at the mansion, Yasmin dragged her luggage while grabbing Katrina ’s arm tightly, a wide giggle on her face. As they entered the house, Margot approached them, her eyes fell on the suitcase with questioning frown. “Miss. Katrina ?” she called, looking up, her gaze throwing the question. Katrina swallowed nervously and turned to Yasmin to whisper. “I think this is a bad idea” “Of course not.” Yasmin quickly let go of her grip and turned to Margot, her face straightened with a bold smile. “Hi, I’m Yasmin. Katrina ’s best friend” she introduced, stretching her hand out. Margot hesitated but took her hand. “Margot, house manager” she introduced. “Great! Help with my bag then” Yasmin said sharply and grabbed Katrina ’s arm again, pulling her forward. Margot watched her with a displeased frown, she could not believe the young girl was already showing off her power, bringing just anyone over. ‘A condescending one at that” she murmured under her breathe. One of the maids walked over and she instructed her to take the bag up after the girls, while she brought out her phone to inform Jace. After convincing Katrina to let her stay in the room right next to Jace’s, Yasmin came out dressed in a top revealing her t**s and a short that left her body exposed. She slowly walked to Jace’s door and apply her lipstick again, ready to knock. “Who are you?” His voice came from behind and Yasmin turned with a little pretense startle. Jace stood five foot away, his hands rested in his pockets, looking a little upset, his brows raised a bit. “Hi, My name is Yasmin.” she said, taking steps closer. “I’m Katrina ’s best friend” she added. “I just moved in and got lost finding my room” she said again, giving a little chuckle. Jace furrowed, his eyes went down on her dressing for a second and his countenance shifted in irritation. A smile spread on Yasmin’s lips as she watched his eyes on her, believing he could resist her temptation. So she took the last step closer. “It’s nice to finally meet you, Jace Holloway” she said, unable to hide her excitement or intention anymore She made a bold step and put her hands on his shoulders, her smile more bold now. Jace did not move, he took his hands from his pockets and lifted slowly, it seemed he might reciprocate but he suddenly pushed her hands off of him. “In your dreams” he spat and thrust her out of his way. Standing a distance in front of him, Katrina was a bit perplexed as she wondered what was going on. But seeing him pushed Yasmin, she assumed that he was bullying her. Jace ignored her and walked into his room, leaving the two in the passage way. Yasmin who was stunned by his action, hasn’t recovered when she saw Katrina , who rushed to her, worried that she might be hurt. “Did he do anything to you?” she asked in a rush. Yasmin hesitated before answering. Her face shifted in a sad expression, her lips pressed together as she shook her head. Seeing her expression made Katrina believed that her assumption was right. “That jerk!” she cussed him. “I’m sorry, Yasmin. I shouldn’t have asked you to come here” she apologized. “Maybe we should rethink…” Yasmin quickly cut her off. “No! I’m fine. Besides, I can’t let you, my best friend, bear this alone” she smiled. Katrina also smiled, happy to know that she still had one person beside her. “I need to go see my Mum at the hospital, want to come?” she asked.
