Chapter 17

2098 Words

The next morning I said goodbye to Trent and let him know to call or text me when he safely got home. He was able to get a flight in Denver—but that meant he had to leave at 5 this morning to make it in time to the airport. I made it into the office about an hour after he left. I was there before the captain was and it’s now 7 in the morning, so I haven’t had the chance to give him what I found on my windshield last night. Currently, Chase’s enforcers had followed me into work this morning. I wouldn’t ever tell Chase this, but they made me feel a little bit safer, especially after Parker's message. Speaking of which, I actually still need to solve his little riddle for me. The captain should be in here at any minute so he will want to know what’s happening and what I think about it for now
