Kade --- "I think I found who you were looking for." mindlinked Max. I think my heart stopped for a second. I was beginning to think that I had imagined the whole thing. "Meet me in my office when you get here," I linked back. I sat in my chair waiting for Max to show up, and then I heard John's voice. He knocked on the door and didn't even wait for me to reply. "So, do you know where Max has been? I haven't seen him since training earlier," John said as he sat down. "He's on his way here now," I might as well let John know as well. He might seem irresponsible, but he can be trusted when needed. "I was beginning to think you two were avoiding me," he said acting hurt. Max just walked in through the door, he was always hard to read, since he always looked serious. When he got closer to me I could smell her on him. It took a lot for me to calm down, but why was her scent on him... He looked at me and I nodded for him to start his story. He looked uncomfortable, probably from the way I was glaring at him. "I went back to that house today. I saw a girl, I couldn't see her face at first so I followed her. She just sat on the edge of the forest, for hours, and then she got up and started to walk into the woods." I looked at him, very few people walked into our woods, at least not beyond the edge. It was well known to be dangerous. He continued. "She started walking like she knew where she was going, she would stop and then turn directions, she went on for quite sometime... then, it was as if she woke from a trance. She just stopped completely, she turned around and saw me... that's when I saw her eyes and knew she was the girl you were looking for, but then..." He trailed off. "And then...?" I questioned. "She saw me and she passed out," Max said looking awkward. "I wasn't sure if I should leave her..." I felt could feel my anger rising, how could he leave her in the forest unconscious! "So I brought her back to her house," Max said. I felt rage again at the though of him holding my mate before I could even meet her. Even though the thought of him leaving her in the middle of the forest was maddening as well. I really couldn't think straight with her scent all over him. "You did the right thing," I grunted out. "Take a shower, I can't stand the way you smell." "I don't smell anything," piped in John. --- Ara --- That night instead of dreaming about the day my parents accident happened I had a new dream. I dreamt of seeing glowing yellow eyes in the forests. I didn't fear them though. I followed the creature. Then it disappeared. I was lost in the dark, I couldn't find my way out. I kept running trying to find a way out, but it wad endless darkness. When I stopped running I heard footsteps coming my way. Soft, quiet steps, headed right towards me. I froze, waiting to see what was coming at me. I saw bright glowing blue eyes. They were not human eyes, the were attached to a huge black wolf, so dark, that he blended in with the darkness around him. He kept coming closer to me, I didn't feel any fear with him either, just like the wolf with the yellow eyes. I extended my hand to touch him. He was almost within reach and it all vanished, the darkness, the wolf, all of it, and I was in my bedroom. It had all been a dream, I clung to the necklace my mom had given me. It was a strange dream, it had seemed so real. --- Kade --- After the meeting with Max and John I had went for a run. Just to clear my mind a little. And so I wouldn't kill Max for smelling like my mate. I haven't told them who she is to me yet. I don't want to until I have a chance to see her again. Just to make sure before I start telling anyone. When I got back I showered and headed to bead. Tomorrow I was going to go check on her myself. --- When I fell asleep it felt strange, it was dark all around me, but it didn't feel like a dream. I could feel there was something strange about this darkness. It was a complete void. I heard the sound of someone running, I wasn't sure whether it was friend or foe, so I went after the sound, as I started catching up I could smell the soft sweet smell of vanilla. I could smell her, I could feel her, the hair on my back rose. When I saw her, all I could see at first were her bright green eyes. She just looked at me, and I stared at her. I didn't want to scare her but I wanted to get closer. Slowly I started to walk towards her, when I was almost within reach she held out her hand to me. It was a relief that she wasn't scared. Just as she was about to touch me it all vanished. I woke up in my bed, I could still see her eyes in my head, I could still smell her around me. I'm not quite sure what happened, but I was pretty sure it wasn't a dream. --- Ara --- Before I knew it it was time for my to head to the diner before my shift started. As I got ready, I couldn't help but think about the dream I had. Those blue eyes... I have no idea why I couldn't get them out of my head. I zipped up my hoodie and headed for the diner. I walked the empty road keeping my head down. When I got to the diner Mags was waiting for me. She gave me the usual smile and waved at me. I smiled back and headed into the kitchen. "Hey Ara, looks like a busy evening tonight," Dan said as he handed me a couple plates. "Booth three, and then hurry back." I took the plates and handed them to the customers. I glanced around the room and didn't see anyone familiar. The usual just passing through crowd, I prefer it this way. "Ara, instead of helping out here today, can organize the paperwork?" Mags asked. --- Kade --- I couldn't wait after last night, I shifted and headed straight to her house. It was still dark but I needed to see for myself that it was her. That it wad the girl in my dreams. I could here her moving around. I could just almost catch a glimpse of her from her windows, but only just shadows. John linked me asking if I was going to lead the training today, I linked him back that I had something important to do and he and John can take over training for the day. She finally opened her door and stepped out. She had a hoodie pulled over her head and kept her head down. But I could still feel her. As she walked down the road I stayed on the edge of the forest following her. She couldn't sense me, so it made it easier to stay close. When she got to the diner, I shifted and walked in a few minutes after her. I sat in a booth in the back where it was darker. After a couple minutes she came out of the kitchen with a couple of plates. She looked around and I could finally see her face. It was her. I leaned back into the shadows so I could continue observing her without being noticed. Then Mags sent her to the office. I'm not sure what I've done to always be so close and the she's gone. "Well, back again?" Questioned Mags.
