One month later.
The atmosphere in the CEO's office of Apex Capital felt much colder. Aksa sat in his grand chair, checking the financial reports. The office door opened. Viera stepped inside carrying a cup of black coffee.
The woman was now wearing a dress shirt and a tight pencil skirt. There was no longer any trace of the arrogant socialite lifestyle.
"Your schedule for today, Aksa," Viera said obediently, placing the coffee on the desk. "There is a meeting with the board of directors at ten, and lunch with investors."
"Cancel the lunch," Aksa cut in without looking away from the documents. "I have other business."
"Alright," Viera looked down. She hesitated for a moment before adding, "Down in the lobby, there is a commotion. Security is detaining a man who forced his way in."
Aksa raised his head, smirking faintly. "Tell security to bring him up."
"But he is rough and drunk, Aksa. He—"
"Bring. Him. Up," Aksa stressed absolutely.
Viera swallowed hard. "Alright."
A few minutes later, the door was pushed open. Two security guards dragged in a skinny, dirty man who smelled of alcohol. Dirga. The former billionaire now looked like a real beggar.
"Let me go, you bastard!" Dirga shouted, struggling. He glared at Aksa full of hatred, then his eyes shifted to Viera, who was standing obediently beside Aksa.
"Viera..." Dirga's voice weakened. "Are you really his pet dog now?"
Viera turned her face away, unwilling to look at the pathetic man.
Aksa gave a condescending laugh. "Look at yourself, Dirga. The homeless on the streets look more respectable than you."
"This is all because of you, Aksa!" Dirga spat onto the marble floor. "You took my company! You took my wife! I have nothing left!"
"And that is a fitting price for your behavior five years ago," Aksa replied flatly, leaning back. "What do you want coming here? To beg?"
Dirga gritted his teeth, the veins on his neck bulging. "Give me money! I know you took over all my assets. Give me a hundred million, and I will leave this city forever."
"A hundred million?" Aksa raised an eyebrow. He opened the desk drawer, took out two stacks of cash, and threw them onto the floor, right in front of Dirga's dirty shoes.
"That's twenty million," Aksa said coldly. "Take it, then get out of my sight. Or starve to death on the streets."
Dirga stared at the money on the floor with heavy breathing. His pride rebelled fiercely. But hunger and despair defeated everything. He slowly knelt down, picking up the money with trembling hands.
"Smart boy," Aksa mocked sharply. "Viera, call the police. Tell them there is a drunk homeless man causing a commotion in my office."
Dirga's eyes widened greatly. "Aksa, you bastard! You said—"
"I told you to take the money, it doesn't mean I am letting you go," Aksa smirked savagely. "Drag him out."
The security guards immediately pulled Dirga, who went back to thrashing and cursing.
As soon as the door was closed tightly, the atmosphere became silent again. Aksa stared at Viera, who was still standing stiffly in her place.
"Come here," Aksa ordered.
Viera stepped closer. Aksa pulled the woman's hand until Viera fell to her knees between his legs.
"Did you see how pathetic that ex-husband of yours was?" Aksa looked down, gripping Viera's jaw with one hand.
"I saw him," Viera whispered softly.
"And do you know what happens if you dare to disobey me?" Aksa threatened, his voice deep and demanding.
"I will never disobey you, Aksa. I am yours," Viera rubbed her cheek against the man's palm, tearing down the remnants of her ego without resistance.
Aksa smiled in satisfaction. His hand moved down, unbuttoning Viera's shirt roughly. Atop the tallest building once ruled by his enemy, Aksa once again ensured that the queen was completely submissive beneath his feet.
