When we got back to the room, Agnes was there waiting for us and the guilt just flooded over me anew. She practically jumped up from the bed when we walked into the room. It was clear from her tired eyes and red nose that Ben had lied to me, and she wasn’t feeling better at all. The red botches on her face just made me remember how much of an impact my actions had on the people around me. It was new.
