CHAPTER FOUR Two weeks later From the moment that Summer left from the hospital, things started looking up for her. As the police had warned, Summer was taken to the police station immediately upon release from the hospital, but her lawyer bonded her out immediately after booking, and waived her appearance at arraignment. Summer was delighted that she could go home without spending any time in jail. Her lawyer indicated that he would arrange for a plea agreement with the attorney for the Commonwealth where she would agree to a ban on driving for a year and a fine of $5,000, but no jail time.
