A SACRIFICE FOR LOVECHAPTER FIVE : DANGEROUS

Carlos paused after the short narration as he look at Meagan. He wiped his face with his palm as if he was somehow sweating.

Meagan looked at him with so many questions that she wanted to ask but to her observation she knew he didn't want to be asked anything. Maybe the next story that she wanted to hear will be told another day. She thought putting the glass back to the table as she stood up.

' Umm, l think that wasn't enough proof and l guess what l wanted to hear will be in the next narration. I can still find some true in those few story you've said and l think my sister was such a humble girl. It's quite late so let me take my leave,' she said hopping out of the house.

' Wait,' Carl spoke at last as Mealan looks at him. Do you think you are ready to listen to the next story, huh!

Meagan just nodded and assured him that she's ready no matter what the story will be. She wants to know everything and find every hidden secrets that her sister was trying to disclose to her.

' But it's dangerous, you might even hate me for the rest of my life you know,' Carl replied back standing hands on his waist. He looked at her as if he's scared about something or something worse was going to happen.

' hm! Is that why you didn't continue with the story because you knew something bad will happen?' Or you thought that am gonna hate you for ever, Isn't it Carl? She asked as he look at him with innocent regretting expression which was planted in his eyes even when he tried hiding it.

'Let us talk someday it seems that you're not going to answer more questions. Am gone and hope next time you'll be able to talk everything that you know not even leaving a hinge', Meagan said stepping out leaving Carl stranded at his position

Carl just stared at her figure as she disappeared from his sight while sadness and pain cover him. He didn't know what to else he would do to try to forget Mealan but nothing could work. He went upstairs and hopped into his bed as Mealan's image reflects in his mind. He tried everything just to wipe those sweet memories with her but nothing was possible. A regretting song came to his mind and he started to sing just to release the heavy burden in him.

? Well l never saw it coming. I should've started running along, long time ago. And l never thought I'd doubt you. I'm better off without you. More than you, more than you know. Carl rolled at his bed as tears rolled down to bed. He stayed there for a long time wishing and crying that his lover would be there to sooth him. He sobbed silently tears falling even regretting loving. Mealan was his first lover and since her death he has never find the guts to love again even after so many approaches by beautiful ladies.

He woke up at midnight and entered the bathroom to wash away the remaining thoughts with cold water. After few minutes, he came out already dressed as he goes back to bed and drifted into a long sweet sleep that night.

Two weeks have passed and Mealan still couldn't get over the thoughts that were banging onto her head. As she continue recalling to what Carl had said about her and that her mom might know something about their problems, she didn't know that she was in the middle of the road. A car was almost hitting her but someone swiped her away as they fall on the ground. She hit her head hardly on someone's chest which felt like a rock.

The car moved away faster before anyone could noticed but Andy was too quick to see it and he knew that something was in a mess. He felt as if there is something dangerous which he couldn't further know. He looked at the direction which Roy and Meagan were and when he saw their positions, he just smirked and an idea popped into his mind.

Roy's eyes locked with Meagan as they stare at each other for a long time without moving. Roy couldn't help but admire her beauty as she pops out her big white eyes in surprise. Meagan hands trembled on Roy's broad chest as she try to keep her wide open eyes off of this good looking man who was staring at her without shying. After their short silence Joe joker broke their eye contact as they look at him still on the same position.

' Aha! What a wonderful couple you are, l love that position of yours, mwah,' he said throwing them a kiss in the air. I think l need to take a photo of you two being in that position.' he added removing his phone as he scroll.

' Oh no! Please Joe, don't take anything,' Meagan cried as she tried to move but Roy's grip tightened. She was about to stand again but Roy dragged her back as she slammed her chest to his as their lips touches each other. It was too late cause Joe had already taken a picture and it came out as he wanted.

Meagan got shocked at the scene that had just happened and her eyes were filled with tears. She moved quickly off him running to the other side of the road avoiding the staring and murmurs of the people that were passing through.

' Are you okay Roy?' someone snapped him out of his thoughts. It was Andy who had been watching the scene since as he give Roy a hand. Roy snapped it away standing by himself giving Andy a terrifying glare as if he wanted to bit him.

' You planned this, didn't you?' He asked as Andy move away. You'ved made sure your plans have succeeded so that she could think that am the one behind all this. Now that you're satisfied you think l am too?' he questioned as his eyes changed to colourless.

Andy knew that this will be more complicated and dangerous too if Roy extends his actions. Andy's head fell down not even looking as he apologies to Roy even if he knew that he had done nothing. He didn't complain nor move even a step because he knew one step will lead him to his grave immediately.

After few minutes, Roy disappeared from their sight and before that, he gave Joe a sideways faking smile which came as a warning. Joe knew that, that smile behind that man's face, it ment some warning and he saw his lifeless body already buried as Japheth and Jared stare at each other with no words to utter from their mouth.

Roy couldn't hold the hate that Meagan had planted in his life. He didn't know what else to do rather to ignore her too but this time it was too much. He didn't know why he hated this girl to dislike him. Within few seconds of thinking, he walked out of the class to look for Meagan. She has been avoiding him for the past three weeks and he knew he needed to say sorry.

Roy moved around all the school classes but her prescence was not their. He looked also to the restroom but even her slight smell wasn't felt. He put his back near the restroom trying to figure out where she could be but nothing rung inside his mind. He wanted to leave but suddenly an idea came to him.

' Oohh s**t! he cursed running to the field. How come he has forgotten where she saw him first when she was being admitted. Where their eyes locked for some minutes at the first time they saw each other before they were distracted by her mom,' he thought as he pass near the principal's office. He paused when he heard a soft voice singing and the song looked familiar.It seems that that person was singing for someone she loves.

He took a deep breath as he move closer when he suddenly saw Meagan sitting at his place where she once saw him sitting. No words could form from his mouth as Meagan finishes her last sentence which was from a song he didn't know.

? Baby, sometimes love, just ain't enough....?

She finished as she wiles away her tears. She sensed someone's presence and she turned as her eyes meets with her worse nightmares.

' What brought you hear huh?' she asked returning her gaze.

Roy moved closer to her and kept a short distance between them. He hesitated a bit and made sure that his words are perfectly out spoken and well heard.

' l actually came here to... to... I mean to... umm, he stated stammering. He was furious for himself once again not being able to express himself Infront of a girl whom he didn't even care about. ' Actually am sorry for what l did to you for the last past few weeks. That's what I wanted to say.' he uttered finally as he try to find his breath.

' Is that so? Anyway am good and am fine with that. Andy and the rest of your friends came for your apology. They were sorry and l couldn't help but feel sorry too for putting the blame on you. Nothing's gonna make me feel better anyway if l don't forget it,' she said putting a smile on her face making Roy to release his breath which he has been holding back for some minutes.

He felt a huge burden has been released from his chest as he slides his hands on the pocket looking away as he hides the showing smile on his face. He thanked her walking away leaving her still standing even though he wanted to ask why she has been avoiding him, that question didn't bother him that much.

' So now you are happy that he has smiled for you mmh?' Someone said making her mind to come from reality.

' You think you can win him that easily? Just ask the girls around here how many times they've tried flirting around him but none won him. He's mine because our family are both business partners and we are already engaged.

' And who had asked you all those shits that you're telling me Kate? Meagan asked putting her hands on her waist. 'You think l want him? Is that why you're jealous huh?' She questioned while Kate just stared at her hungryly.

' Don't act innocent Meagan, from the look of your face you want him badly. I know very well that you're trying to seduce him with your figure. Kate said pointing at Meagan's shape who didn't even bothered moving.

' You think so? You think l want him? Now listen you little brat, l don't want your foolish boy or whom you so called your future husband. Have no time of chasing other people's men because have so many things to do and on my list men are not included, so just back off and leave me alone once again cause next time I'll not warn you but actions gonna work.' she finished her last words as she points her fingure straight to her face walking away.

Kate fumed in anger as she clenched her fist tightly walking away thinking how her plans gonna be. Both of them didn't know that Jared and Japheth were listening to their conversation.

' Let's extract our plan,' Jared said while Japheth nods as they too take their leave.
