Just because she was the eldest, did Cora have to criticize Emily’s every decision? She was a high school French teacher, not a schoolgirl. Shaking her head, Emily climbed on the bike and pedaled away from the house. She’d exhausted her gas rations for the week, so using the car was out. Fortunately, the library wasn’t far.
