Chapter nine - Warning

2622 Words
Cassie's POV: I can't believe Ashley is cheating on Ben. He doesn't deserve it. I don't know why she is doing it. This boy is the perfect boyfriend. I mean, he does everything for her. I have no idea what else she wants. Since the party, I have been following her. If I decide to tell Ben about this, I need proof. Of course, I will give her time to do it. Otherwise, I will be me. For now, I haven't told anyone. I trust Chelsea. The thing is that I'm not sure if she can keep a secret. It's better if fewer people know. That is a personal topic, and I don't want to mess anyone with it. I wonder how long she has been doing it. One day I saw her in the football team room, making out with James. She was with another boy in an empty classroom the next day. There is something wrong with this girl. I have to tell Ben, but it feels wrong. He should understand this from her, not me. I don't know what to do. He doesn't want to believe she is the bad one. Ashley did something to him. This boy is completely blind. Maybe I have to leave him alone. After all, the problem is not mine. The real one is that I can feel when he is hurt. Lately, this has been often. It hurts him not to know the truth. Well, I'm not the one who has to talk about this. In that case, I will talk with Ashley. I will give her a week to tell Ben. Otherwise, I will do it. This boy will understand everything. I won't let her play with him as if he is a toy. Well, I have to tell the truth as well. That can wait. Otherwise, it will be too much information for him. We can talk about this later. Ashley will get what she deserves. I won't take Ben from her, but I don't like liars. I hope Ben will believe me and won't think I am lying. It's another school day. I was a bit excited, but now things have changed. Today I will talk with Ashley. The question is if she will want to do it. Well, it's not like she has a choice. I have proof that she is cheating. Let's say that I might have made a video and a couple of pictures with her and different boys. I'm sure Ben won't like it. That's why she has to talk with him. I don't want to be the bad girl. If it's necessary, I will do it. I won't let her play with him. Currently, I have Math. I am sitting in the front row. That way, I can hear everything the teacher says. After all, I want to be a good student. During the lunch break, I plan to talk with Ashley. It has to be without Ben being suspicious. I mean, he is on her side. Sometimes I wonder when he will open his eyes. She is using him. The problem is not mine, but I feel bad for Ben. He doesn't deserve to be with a girl like her. I'm sure there are many fish in the sea. He will find the perfect girl. - I wonder when this class will finish. - Chelsea said - Soon. Look, I want to pay attention. - What is going on with Ben? - Later. - Ok, fine. After the class, Chelsea and I walked to our lockers. Luckily, hers is close to mine. I know she wants to understand everything, but I don't know if I should tell her. - Well? - What? - Tell me what you know about Ben. I know you are hiding something. - How long can you keep a secret? - As long as you want me to. - Ok, I will tell you, but you have to promise me not to tell anyone. - I promise. Now spill the tea. - Come with me. - I said and dragged her into an empty classroom - What was that? - Ashley is cheating on Ben. - WHAT? - Shh. Keep it quiet. - I'm sorry. How she is cheating on him. - Look at this. - I said and showed her the videos - What the heck? From where do you have these? - It doesn't matter. The important thing is that I have proof. I will use it against her. - How? - I will give Ashley a week to tell Ben the truth. Otherwise, I will do it. - Ok, but do you think it will work? - I hope so. I don't have anything else. - Look, I think you have to talk with Ben. She is a b*tch, and he deserves to know it. - I know, but I want to give her some time. It's better if she tells him, not the new girl. - Let's hope your plan will work. On the lunch break, I checked for Ashley. She must come out soon. I want to talk with her. That's why I put a note in her locker. There was no one in the back of the school. I waited for her to see it and walked away. Soon, she came alone. After all, that's what I said in the note. I don't need her minions. - Uggh, it's you again. What do you want? - I want you to tell Ben the truth. - I told you to stay away from him. - Look, I won't let you play with his feelings. - What I do is not your business. - You have one week to tell him. Otherwise, I will do it. - As if he will believe you. - He might not believe me, but I have proof. - What? - I have a video of you and James. Ben will like the pictures of you and different guys. - Bullsh*t! You don't have anything. - Are you sure? - I asked and showed her everything - Delete this! - No, I won't. I don't understand why you are doing it. - It doesn't matter. Delete the videos and the pictures. - When you tell Ben the truth, everything will be gone. - How can I be sure? - He will know the truth. I don't need to show him anything. Do as I said! - Are you threatening me? - No, it's friendly advice. - Listen up, b*tch. You have to leave me alone. If you tell Ben something, I will make your life living hell. - I'm not scared of you. Tell Ben! - You can't tell me what to do. Now, excuse me, but I have to eat. - Ashley said and left It looks like I will have to talk with Ben. That won't be today. I took a tray and went to eat. I told Chelsea what had happened. She wasn't happy and told me to talk with Ben. I will do it, but first, I will play with his girlfriend. I can annoy Ashley for a while. If I see she won't do anything, I will. After school, I went to the library. Abby is working today. When I walked in, I saw her on my shelf. Perfect. I carefully walked behind her and tapped her shoulder. - Hello. - Oh, hi, Cassie. Which book do you need today? - Do you have any news about the mysterious one? - No, I'm sorry. I don't have any news. Did you ask your grandmother? - She doesn't want to tell me anything. - Maybe it's better if you don't know. What if the book is dangerous? - I don't know if it exists. - Why don't you focus on something else? - Like what? - Did you find your person? - Please, don't start. I don't want to talk about this. - That means something has happened. Will you tell me? - It's a boy with a cheating girlfriend. - Oh, I'm sorry. - Why? The problem is not ours. - Don't you like him? - Look, my mission was to find him. Now, I have to keep an eye on him. - Does he know about his aura? - Not yet. I haven't talked with him. Let's say that he has other problems. - I understand, but you have to do it. - First, I need to get rid of his cheating girlfriend. - Why do I feel like you are jealous? - What? I'm not jealous. - Are you sure? - Yes, I am. Abby, I met this boy at the beginning of the new school year. I can't fall for someone so fast. - There is something called love from the first look. - Very funny. Do you have any books for me? - Nothing that you haven't read already. - Ok, then. I will go home. I have homework to do. - Cassie, are you ok? - I don't know. I feel like things are getting complicated. - Why? - There is something about Ben that I don't understand. - Like what? - When I touched Ben, he burned my hand. It wasn't on purpose. - Maybe he has a strong aura. - He does. It's powerful. - What will you do? - I don't know. First, I have to make him trust me. Later, I will tell him everything. - Good luck. - Thanks. I will go now. Bye, Abby. - Bye, Cassie. - Abby said, and I left I walked home and started doing my homework. That will distract me from Ben. I don't know why I care so much about his relationship. The problem is his aura. I can feel it when he is in pain. He is the first person with who I can do this. What if he is my person? We have similar auras. Beth has to see him. Well, this won't be soon. He has other problems to solve. Later, my parents came home from work. I asked mom if she would invite granny for dinner. The condition was if we didn't talk about aura and powers. It's understandable. - Did you find a boyfriend? - Granny. I don't want to talk about this. - Why? There is nothing wrong with having a boyfriend. - I don't need one. - Are you sure? If your parents hadn't met, you wouldn't have been here. - I didn't say that I would never have one. For now, I prefer to be single. - It's your choice. What about Ben? - I told you he has a girlfriend. - Wasn't she cheating on him? - dad asked - What she does is not my business. With the difference, I told Ashley the opposite. I will stop her. She won't play with Ben's feelings. I know how he will feel, but I don't want to do it. I should talk with granny about it. I don't know why I feel his pain. Mom went to bring the dessert, which was a perfect opportunity for my talk with granny. - Granny, can we talk for a second? - Of course. What is bothering you? - Can we go to my room? - Sure. Both with granny walked to my room. She sat on my bed and looked at me. I have to talk with her about it. Also, I need to know more about this mysterious book. - I have a question. - Go on. - Why, when Ben is in pain, I feel it too? I mean, through my aura. - That's because you focused on him. Also, you can feel what he does when you find someone with the same aura as yours. - How can I get rid of this? - You can't. I mean, at least until your boy doesn't learn how to control it. - Who knows when this will happen? - You have to be patient. - Granny, I got tired. Why do I have to mess with this? - It's not your choice. For every person, there is another one with a matching aura. It looks like Ben is yours. - But I don't want him. - We can't choose where to be born or in what family. Here is the same. - This is bullsh*t! - Language. - I'm sorry. I want this to be over. - If you talk with Ben, you can put the end. No one said that you have to date him. All you have to do is help him control his power. - I don't think he will want to talk with me. - Why? Did you do something? - No, but it's not something good since the new girl is messing with his life. - Dear, you are not doing anything wrong. It will take him time to accept the truth, but everything will be fine. - When? How long do I have to pretend that everything is ok? I hate this! - Hey, calm down. - No. I don't want this power anymore. I want to be ordinary. - I said and left I took my jacket and walked out. I have no idea where I am going, but I want to be alone. Soon I realized I was around my school's area. When I checked my phone, I saw I had been walking for an hour. It's not like I care. I want five minutes of peace. Is it that much? I walked by a park and sat on a bench. - Hey. - Ben? What are you doing here? - Walking around. What about you? - The same. I wanted to be alone for a while. Lately, too many things have happened. - I understand. - How are you? - I have been better. - Why? Is there a problem? - Do you still think Ashley is cheating on me? - Ben, don't start. I never said that, and you know it. - Then, for what were all the warnings? If you know something, you can tell me. - Look, I don't want to talk about this now. Please, leave me alone. - What if I want to stay here? - You can stay here if you are quiet. - I thought my life would be easy. - Easy is boring. - True. What do you want us to do? - How about sitting and not talking? - I like that. - Then, we have a plan. - Yes, we do. - Um, are you mad at me? - No. Why would I be? - Since I came, you have had problems. - That's not because of you. Hey, don't feel bad. You didn't do anything wrong. - I hope so. - Good people are rare. - I know. I have realized it the hard way. - I'm sorry. - It's ok. I'm over it. - Good for you. Ben and I spent some time in the park. The silence was comfortable. I know he wants to know everything, and I will tell him. If Ashley doesn't do it herself, I will. For some reason, I care about him. After all, I feel his pain. Let's say that I am doing this for myself. I want to find a way to get rid of this feeling. Maybe Beth can help me. I haven't seen her soon. Probably there is a solution. Also, I have to ask her about the mysterious book. As a person who takes care of people's auras, she should know something more. I hope that she will be able to help me. I don't want to deal with this anymore.
