Sleep evaded me despite my best efforts. I could do nothing but think about what happened this afternoon. I wondered about just what I was going to do in retaliation to the other betrayal I’d witnessed.
Part of the problem, though, was that my inner wolf didn’t seem to think the same.
Logically, I wanted to break the contract and the mate bond after what I’d seen. It was par for the course to end a relationship that wasn’t working, what’s more. The relationship had been built on a contractual, transactional basis where my mate would get paid for her agreement to the marriage and remain LOYAL.
