Chapter Fifty-One Briella sat through most of the morning in silence, her pen tapping idly against the edge of her notebook as her thoughts drifted. She wasn’t listening to the numbers being presented in the boardroom, not really. Her eyes flicked toward the empty seat outside her office—Grace’s seat—and the note in her purse seemed to grow heavier with each passing second. When the meeting finally ended, Marcellus lingered behind while the board members filed out.
