CHAPTER 25 Jane's breath caught as she stared at the Polaroids on her bed, afraid to come close. There were a lot of pictures of the child sleeping and laughing. The baby, with his chubby cheeks and bright eyes, looked uncannily like a young version of Caleb. She reached for a picture and traced a finger around the baby's face, questions swirling in her mind. “Isn't he cute?” she said with a smile. She gathered the photos, placed them carefully on her bedside drawer chest, and tried to push the questions from her mind. Why were these pictures here? Who had left them?
