It was almost evening when Brian placed a hot dish of casserole on the table. He looked towards Jane who had been sleeping for four whole hours, and he knew she had to wake up and eat.
Something within him fluttered when he reached out to tap her. He paused, wondering whether he should just watch her beautiful form as she slept and wait for her to wake up on her own.
He moved his hand to her hair and pushed some strands behind her ear. She stirred and opened her eyes.
"You should eat," Brian said, smiling down at her.
Jane groaned and sat up. "How long have I been asleep?"
