27 Ray’s Swordfight Against Barros

1463 Words
Peter was anxious. The swordfight had still not started; Ray and Barros were standing about a meter or two away from each other as if studying their opponent.   “You’re won’t kill him, will you?” Peter asked.   Ray and Barros turned to Peter and Zack who stood seven meters from each other. Lats thing the twp ever wanted was to be involved in their sword battle.   Barros chuckled. “Who? Me? Rest assured, I won’t kill any of you. This is just a sport; a challenge. I don’t have any reason to kill any of you.”   The truth was, Barros was not allowed to kill any living person, as his power was meant to restore, not to cause destruction nor death. He would kill, however, if it was his foe.   Peter sighed in relief and watched the battle. He hoped that Ray would win no matter what. Or else, the pressure would be on his or Zack. He glanced at Zack.   Although he was waiting for them to start the sword battle, he seemed to be on deep thoughts.   And the sword battle began.   Barros started to move in a circular motion, without taking his eyes off of Ray. Ray, on the other hand, did the same, so they were watching each other while moving in a circular motion.   At last, Barros stopped, and so as Ray.   “This is gonna be epic,” Zack commented, a smile now on his lips.   Peter’s licked wet his dry lips and sighed.   Zack looked to him and patted his chest. “Chill, we’re going to win it no matter what,” he said.   Peter only nodded. He was still not sure about that, but he hoped to see a positive outcome.   One, two, three. Ray and Barros each counted to their minds.   Barros waited, and Peter saw how confident Ray was. Because for a brief moment, there was a cocky grin on his lips.   The demigod smiled in interest. He had never seen someone with that spark in their eyes. He was impressed, actually.   Ray charged first at Barros. With a yell, he stepped back to position his sword near his right chest and ran towards Barros.   The latter wasn’t nervous about it and waited for Ray to arrive right in front of him.   At that moment, Ray only had his eyes at Barros. He wasn’t meant to kill him, but he would do anything to win. With the skillful memories of Alec the skeleton warrior in his mind, although Barros was a demigod, he believed he had a chance to defeat him.   When he was almost a meter near Barros, he lifted the sword to hit him, but Barros was quick for the last minute to wield his sword. The sword made a sharp clang.   With their swords gritting against each other, Barros and ray stared into each other's eyes. Ray and Barros each had a grin on their lips.   Both of them put a force to push the swords against one another. Ray was grunting, and Barros was just calm but his veins on his hands showed he had put effort, too.   At a distance, specifically in Peter and Zac’s position, they couldn’t see such details, but it was obvious that the beginning of the swordfight was just starting to heat.   Peter clenched his fists as he cheered silently for Ray.   “You’re not bad,” Barros said to Ray.   Ray nodded. “You, too.”   Barros chuckled. “Of course, I’m a demigod,” he boasted, and Ray had had enough of his bragging, so he pushed the sword hardly against Barros’s sword and let it slip in a circular motion, and wielded it again to Barros.   Now, there was a continuous clang as their swords hit against one another, creating a spark effect made by friction.   Ray was trying to corner Barros, so he started to step forward while swaying his sword from left to right, right to left, and so on.   It wasn’t hard to watch, as it looked more alike with sword fencing.   Barros’s eyebrows raised a little and he had the time to chuckle. He didn’t let Ray easily win, so he turned around and swayed the sword and hit Ray’s sword in a powerful force that he stepped back to balance himself.   Every second was important for the sword fight. Even if you fall back, you had to stand, or else, even a single second could be a disadvantage to you and an advantage to the opponent.   Ray quickly stood straight and lifted the sword with both hands to defend himself from Barros’s attack.   Now, the fights started to become more intense. Now, every fighting skill was included in the swordfight.   Ray moved like a ghost and turned until he was behind Barros and stirred his foot at one of Barros's legs to trip him down, but Barros was quick to move. He jumped and aimed to hit Ray on top of his head.   But Ray was prepared. He lifted the sword over his head and he then kicked Barros on the chest, sending him away from him.   Barros’s feet slipped on the floor away from Ray without losing his composure and balance. He laughed. “Wow, you’re pretty good,” he praised.   Ray nodded. “Thanks,”   Barros now ran to Ray for his attack.   He cornered Ray and attacked him quickly with his sword, and Ray was now panting as he tried to defend himself with his sword. The clanging of their swords echoed through the walls of the indoor pavilion.   Peter and Zack were watching and had their eyes watching close to the two. They anticipated every move and Peter felt the most anxious.   In a quick motion, Barros turned around as well and with his arm, he easily lifted Ray by carrying him by his clothes and thrown him on the ground. Barros lifted the sword to take the final move but Ray was quick to roll over, missing the hit.   Ray then started attacking Barros, exchanging clashes of swords yet again.   Barros made a quick s***h at Ray, which cut Ray’s sleeve. Of course, the demigod didn’t intend to make it harsher, or else he’d cut Ray’s flesh.   Ray glanced at his sleeve and looked at Barros, who was just smiling. The demigod shrugged. “Just a little design,” he said,   Ray had no time to be playful.   Ray turned around and ran away, which shook Peter, Zack, and Barros.   “Ray, what are you doing?” Peter yelled, surprised to the core.   Barros stood still on his position and laughed. “Did you just run away?” he asked.   Before Ray could get any further, he turned around with fierce eyes. Turned out he had a reason for it.   Glaring at Barros, he charged at him. Barros stopped laughing and prepared himself seriously for whatever it was Ray was planning.   When Ray, just like earlier, was a meter near Barros, he jumped hard and lifted the sword over his head for an attack. Barros didn’t see it coming, but he was prepared at any circumstance.   He jumped back, which made Ray land on the ground without Barros under him. His sword hit the ground and made a dent.   “Oh, you destroyed the floor!” Barros said and attacked Ray with his sword.   This time, the clanging sound was continuous and merciless.   When Ray regained his power, when Barros’s sword met his, he pushed it and controlled Barros’s sword in a circular motion. Ray jumped and kicked Barros once again, and it was harder this time, so Barros fell on the ground but he easily stood up in less than a second.   They were about five feet apart and were looking into each other’s eyes while panting.   Ray’s shirt was drenched in his sweat and sweat started trickling down from his forehead and neck. The same as Barros, who was still grinning.   “Stop grinning, you look like an i***t,” Ray said.   “Let’s not talk, let’s just finish this fight,” Barros said and they both ran at each other at the same time.   The fight was close, but Ray was starting to become tired.   Again, their swords clashed against each other, and they were kicking and punching each other.   At some point, Ray was close to winning the battle, but Barros was quick to wield his sword and hit Ray’s sword away from him.   Peter was now starting to sweat, too. He let out a frustrated groan when Ray was close to calling the bet.   The two started walking backward, their swords pointing afront. A second passed. Two. Three. Until eleven, and the two ran towards each other.   Ray attacked, defended, and dodged from Barros’s attacks. Barros did the same.   In the middle of their nonstop sword clash, Barros saw the chance to circle Ray until he was behind. With the butt of his sword’s handle, he used it to hit Ray’s back, before he kicked him from behind.   Ray fell on his knees before he could even swing his sword again, hitting the air. He didn’t expect it. Barros was quick with his movements.   He quickly rolled to defend him from the incoming attack he expected, But the moment he turned, his neck met the coldness of Barros’s sword.   The demigod grinned. “I won.”
