“Stop it already!” a man from the attendees protested. “Stop with the magic spell bullshit already!” he continued.
Peter looked at the man. He looked at everyone. He understood that they were antsy about leaving the place, but they couldn’t just do that knowing what awaits them outside.
“Do you have any other idea? You don’t have anything else to do but wait. And didn’t I say earlier that whatever happens to him, it’s on him? It’s his decision. It’s not my fault. I tried to stop him, but he continued to eat it,” Peter said. “And this isn’t just some magic spell bullshit. We’re trying to do anything to save everyone. If you don’t know anything about what we’re doing, then stay back and be silent if you have no better idea. Keep alert. That helps us a lot.”
Everyone turned quiet. “Going outside is not safe yet. Staying here isn’t safe as well. We have to find out how we can safely leave this place as soon as possible. The sunset can’t probably wait. They can attack us anytime,” he said and looked at Ray and Zack. “Can you guys put those down for a second and help me move Kevin Marr—err, this gigantic sausage?” he said calmly this time.
The two silently complied and helped Peter to move Kevin Marr aside. To the door, specifically. They used Kevin Marr’s heavy sausage body to block the door. No one dared to argue anymore. The only thing they could do was to let themselves be in the hands of Peter and trust him. But they had in mind that if he forced them to consume anything, they wouldn’t accept any of it. They’d rather wait for the sunrise if trying anything he summoned was just deadly.
“We’ll have to stop summoning food that will give us energy. It’s scary to think that even at one bite, we could die. The food had different effects. We had the apple, but it lasts for only a few minutes. It won’t even last to make me control all those shadow monsters and have them leave us,” Peter stated and went back inside the circle where the apple and the skull head was.
“Mr. Sorcerer, sir, you must take a rest, but I’m afraid I can send you back yet. We might need you later,” he said. “Is it okay to you?” he asked.
The skull head hummed. “Sure,” it said, and his eye sockets turned black and empty. Well, he was easy to talk with.
Peter turned to his two friends. “In the meantime, we should summon objects. Food is one scary thing to summon. We should avoid it at all cost,” he reminded.
“I’ll summon first,” Ray, as expected, volunteered. Peter nodded and settled the skull head and the apple aside, on a table. Ray used the circle that Peter left and just altered it with his spiritual power so he wouldn’t need to form another one.
Peter and Zack watched closely. “What are you going to summon this time?” Zack asked, with his arms crossed. Peter did the same and waited for Ray’s reply.
“Armor suit to complete the sword,” Ray said with a thin smile.
The two nodded and waited for his summoning. They waited for him to say the mantra, but Ray only sighed. “I’m kinda unsure. I wanna test it with normal armor,” Ray said.
He cleared his throat and started reciting the mantra from earlier.
An object from the Atlanchi world;
An armor that can protect me from anything;
In my name, Ray Gavinson, I summon you into this world!
A strong whirl of wind came along with a portal, and there appeared a suit of armor. When the wind and the portal disappeared, the suit of armor clang to the lobby floor. Ray walked to pick it up, and it looked like a normal armor suit. He smiled. The mantra should work, then. He was finally certain.
“So?” Peter asked. Ray turned to look at Peter and threw the armor on the side. “Are you going to continue with the summoning?”
Ray nodded. “Yeah, no turning back now,” he said. “We have no time,” he added.
If it worked well, he would be safe to try and kill every shadow monsters outside the mansion. But he wasn’t that reckless to do it alone, so if Peter and Zack decided to come along with him, then it would be the only time he would go for the battle against the shadow monsters.
Finally, he recited the mantra to summon the armor's suit that will complete the sword as a set.
An object from the Atlanchi world;
The suit of armor of its majestic skills;
Work with the majestic sword, and you shall protect me.
In my name, Ray Gavinson, I summon you into this world!
Another course of a whirl of wind came along with the cloud that was the portal. A set of suit armor stood there inside the circle, waiting to be worn. Peter could tell, it had a different vibe than the normal suit of armor that Ray summoned earlier. It looked like it has a life on its own, and it looked superior that he was convinced that it would protect him.
“That looked nice,” Peter complimented. Zack agreed with a nod. “Aren’t you going to wear it?” he asked.
“I’m about to. I’m just taking a look at its appearance,” Ray said. He then walked to the armor to try it on. Although it took him quite a struggle, he managed to wear the suit. It wasn’t that heavy. It was light on him, and he could easily move without struggling. The suit fit his body.
“You look good with the armor,” Peter complimented him. “You look like a warrior,” he added.
Ray suddenly had an idea and decided to summon again.
An object from the Atlanchi world;
A shotgun that could be anyone’s protection;
In my name, Ray Gavinson, I summon you into this world!
A shotgun was summoned. Peter and Zack were puzzled. “What’s that for?” Peter asked.
“Test the shotgun on my armor,” Ray suggested.
“Are you sure?” Peter asked. Zack obliged and took the shotgun. To avoid hurting anyone, Ray walked to a corner and chose to be aimed there. Zack aimed the shotgun toward Ray, who had his whole body covered with the suit of armor. Peter sighed. “Quickly do it; we have no time.”
“You heard the boy, fire it!” Ray told, and Zack just nodded before he finally fired. The shotgun. The pieces of its ammo hit the surface of the suit, and it bounced to hit the wall on his sides. Peter quickly checked around if someone was hurt, and he was relieved when everyone looked fine.
Ray removed the armor on his head with a grin on his face. “It didn’t even feel anything,” he said, and he was right. They didn’t see Ray move a bit by the force of the shotgun. “This is reflective, as well. With light, the shadow monsters won’t be able to pass through me,” he said.
“It’s cool,” Zack commented. “I’ve never seen that one before,” he said. If I have a chance, I’ll also summon that.”
Ray nodded and coughed a little when he inhaled a bit of gun powder. “Sure,” he only said and dusted the powder that scattered on the suit.
“Okay, let’s wrap your summoning up,” Peter said, but he noticed a sudden discomfort on Ray’s face. “What’s wrong? Are you hit?”
Ray shook his head and immediately threw the armored head on the side. “No, it’s getting tight. Like, it’s shrinking,” he said and immediately removed the armor that was below him, leaving him with the armor on his upper part of the body.
He was finding it hard to remove, so Ray and Zack helped him to remove it. “What the heck?” Peter asked as he grunted. It felt like the suit was resisting to get removed. “We have to remove the suit. It looks like it will crush your bones!” he said with panic.
Ray grunted as he tried to remove it with the help of the two. “Obviously,” he said, and he started panting. “It’s super tight right now; it’s getting hard to breathe.”
The suit was shrinking slowly, but it was uncomfortable for Ray because it might continue until his bones were crushed. “Let me,” Ray said. Peter and Zack stepped away from him and watched him do it himself. Slowly, he could finally move the suit up to his chest as it continues to shrink.
But then Ray noticed something late. The armor that covered his hands and fingers started to shrink as well, making it difficult for him to remove it. He breathed heavily and looked at Peter and Zack. “My fingers are held tight, too. I’m afraid I might break some fingers,” he said.
Peter’s eyes widened. “Just... just do anything you can. Remove the suit before it crushes you.”
Ray was doing that no matter what, anyway. He removed the first arm, and he screamed in pain when his pinky finger broke. He was breathing heavily in pain and removed the second arm, causing him to break another pinky finger.
He quickly removed the suit off of him and threw it. It expanded again to its normal size.
But something else surprised Peter. There were loud rustles outside the mansion, and he wasn’t the only one who heard it.
