94 Hunting Octopus Monsters And Befriending Dreamlords

1680 Words
Peter still decided to try and hunt octopus monsters.   He couldn’t be stopped. Aside from getting a magic book in exchange for hunting an octopus monster, he wanted to know if there was a way to find their greatest weakness. No one knows, maybe he might just be the only one who would defeat the octopus monsters. And that would make him be known in the dream world.   He was not after fame, he was after recognition. And he wanted to be recognized for something novel and extraordinary. Something no one else had succeeded. Something that he was the first one to do so. Something that was first in history.   Wiboe said to Peter that he had to do it alone if he wanted a collection of magic books. Which was a great deal. One octopus monster for a set of magical books? He loved that idea.   But he couldn’t just do it without a plan.   Wiboe also said that he had to hunt the octopus monster and bring it to the dream kingdom. The light on the tallest tower would send the octopus monster back to their lair. Peter understood why it had to be done like that.   If the octopus monsters were sent back to their lair, then it would take the octopus monster to get back to the dream world. Then it would be less monster for the dream kingdom warriors or staff to take care of.   Another thing was that octopus monsters would randomly appear in the dream world, mostly in dream space. Which meant, he had to manually go to places and find an octopus monster. Which also meant a lot of work.   He sighed as he decided to stay inside his dream for a while to think of a plan. From what he experienced, octopus monsters don’t seem to react to any of the elements. That, he should still try but with a different approach. They seemed to react to lightning and poison, though. Maybe he should try that.   His current goal was to bring an octopus monster, so maybe he could work out about killing one if he found a great idea. Befriending multiple dreamlords, maybe he could focus on having a small group of them as his friend. Dorothy could be a friend but he needed to gather new friends so the chance of one or some of them have a magic book would be high,   He stood up and left his dream. Maybe he should start finding one. He planned to just do what he did last time. He would just make him and his vehicle invisible so if an octopus was on sight, he would have time to prepare strikes. And just like they said, camouflage could be a way of defense.   A noiseless army tank was what he chose.   He was ready for everything. He made the tank faster than normal ones so he could quickly go from place to place. He managed to get to a neighboring city, until he got to another city, and then to another.   To his surprise, he saw one octopus monster from afar. It looked small, so he assumed it was a little far from him. Probably streets away from him. He decided to change his vehicle from there. A noiseless plane would do.   He quickly created an invisible noiseless plane and drove it above the city. The octopus seemed to not notice him and the plane as no one did. The octopus was just absorbing the dreams, and no dream kingdom warrior or staff were there to repel or stop the octopus monster.   The bombs the plane could fire would be four things. Water, ice, fire, and rocks as earth. He could add air, but he thought he would just make himself a person who could cast winds. He could use that ability to make the fire bigger.   When he was over the octopus, he sprayed water all over the octopus. The creature didn’t mind it, though, it continued to absorb the dreams from the dreaming people. Peter then used the ice. Since the octopus was soaked with water he sprayed, he planned to freeze it but it didn’t work. The ice only flaked from the octopus’s skin.   The octopus seemed to not mind what he was doing, but the octopus was aware of his presence, although he couldn’t be seen. Peter sighed. He now tried the rocks. He fired rocks at the octopus but it only bounced from the creature.   “Nope, that doesn’t work,” he said and opt for the fire. He sprayed fire by the plane and used his air-control power he could only do since he was dreaming and used the air to surround the octopus with it, the fire covering the octopus.   It seemed to work, but not much. It didn’t stop the octopus from absorbing the dreams. He then made the plane disappear and planned another. He kept himself invisible, but he made himself having power like Zeus.   He called lightning and let it strike the octopus. The octopus was electrocuted and it stopped absorbing dreams. The octopus was looking where he might be but it couldn’t find him.   Peter repeated the lightning attack and electrocuted the octopus. He nearly made it fall asleep like the last time but the octopus woke up in a second.   The octopus’ tentacle reached to him but he dodged quickly. “The heck? How did it see me?” he murmured. The octopus tried to reach him again but he dodged again. He assumed the octopus could sense him now.   Well, that was what he wanted. He wanted to get its attention so he could bring it to the dream kingdom.   He was just thankful he was a dreamlord. He could do anything he wanted. Making himself able to fly, he flew to the dream kingdom backward and made himself visible to the octopus. The octopus saw him and followed him. However, the creature looked like it was faster than him.   He quickly created a gun that could fire poisonous bullets. As he had remembered, it could slow the octopus at least a little so he would be given a safe distance from the creature.   The octopus continued to fly following him and he also continued to fire the gun to slow the creature down. It seemed to be working since the octopus couldn’t reach him no matter how much it tried to.   He could already see the dream kingdom. He continued his way there until the tower could be seen. He looked at the octopus which seemed to not notice it since it was focusing on Peter. And the moment came. They were a few meters from the tower. It was the only time when the octopus saw the light on the tower.   The octopus growled and disappeared.   Peter landed on the ground where people and other beings watched. They clapped for him and then went on with their businesses. “You don’t waste time, do you?” someone spoke behind him.   He turned around and saw that it was Wiboe. Peter smiled. “Right timing. You probably saw that. I worked with it alone. Is it worth for a set of magical books?” he asked and followed him.   “Yeah, but you need to meet and befriend more dreamlords,” Wiboe said.   “What?” Peter asked in disbelief. “I thought they were different,” he mumbled but enough for Wiboe to hear.   “It’s hard to get a set of magic books just for an octopus,” the goblin answered. “What I meant with the one set was, I’ll help you meet a group of dreamlords who would have some magic books with them. You’ll just need to borrow,” he said.   Peter grimaced but sighed. “Fine. Where are they?” he asked.   “Go to the library and wait, I’ll tell them to go there and find you,” Wiboe said and went to another castle. Peter watched the goblin go and went to the main castle. He entered it and looked for the library, as he remembered where it was.   He arrived and waited at the library.   After wandering, he heard a group of men enter the library noisily. The librarian didn’t stop them, though. If they were in a physical library on earthy, the librarian won’t shut up about them being noisy.   They were five guys, and he had never met them before. Not even one of them he had never met both in real life and in dreamlord.    One of the guys noticed him. The stranger beamed a smile at him. “Hey, Bro, are you Peter?” he asked Peter.   The guy was tall and black. He had a friendly smile and a bright-toned voice. Well, they looked friendly to Peter. Though he made himself aware of what Wiboe said that not dreamlords were after good things.   Peter smiled back. “Hey, that’s me,” he started. “It’s good I have someone to talk here in English,” he said.   The group of guys laughed in agreement. “I know. How long have you been talking in Orrinatta?” they asked Peter.   Peter shook his head and chuckled. “You wouldn’t believe, this is the longest English conversation that I’ve been,” peter truthfully said.   They all laughed at Peter. “You’re a funny guy,” the first guy who greeted him said. “Oh, Wiboe actually told us that you want to be around our group? I mean, we’re no different than other dreamlords, but we’re like, a pack. It would be great for a funny guy to join us.”   Peter didn’t hesitate to remember the magic books. “Sure.”
