19 A Strange Friend

The blast was the same as to a stun grenade, but a little smaller. Like a spark of two electrical cords tapped together.   The three waited for anything to appear, but there was none. The circle had nothing but Peter standing over. Strange, as the three would see. They realized that the more they use the book and summon, the more they encounter weird and strange situations.   Peter suddenly remembered the encounter of the green goblin and the dream goblin. “It must be invisible, too!” Peter exclaimed, and quickly blocked the doorway in case it was invisible and would choose to escape. He stretched his arms to reach the door frame over him, but it wasn’t enough to even touch it.   Peter looked at Ray. “The flour box is behind Josh, take it and spread it all over!” he instructed quickly and ray rushed to get the flour box they used when they summoned the green goblin.   Peter watched as Ray crazily spread the flour on the floor until every inch of it was covered. When he ran out of flour, he roamed around the basement and found a sack of flour behind Edgar’s voodoo altar.   Zack was confused. “Why is there a sack of flour there?” he asked.   Peter only looked at Zack. There was no time for them to even think about Edgar’s reason why he had a flour stock there.   Zack helped and used his hands to spread the flour on the remaining space of the floor of the basement that wasn’t covered with flour yet.   Ray threw the sack with still half of the flour on a corner and they waited.   “There’s nothing,” Ray said.   Peter slowly placed his hands down to his sides and looked around. The flour that covered every inch of the floor of the basement, and found nothing was changed. Not even a suspicious footprint.   “What? Did we fail?” Zack asked, holding to his neck. “Ugh, my neck stings a little.”   Ray walked to Zack and looked at his wound. “It looks fine. Tell us if you feel any weird symptoms. Like, nausea or dizziness,” Ray said and patted Zack’s arm.   Zack only nodded. “Then what about that blast? Is it like, a sign or something?”   Suddenly, they heard footsteps from upstairs. Everyone looked by the staircase and Peter was alert, since he was on the doorway.   Someone walked the staircase.   They saw the face when it peeked down, and Peter started walking backward.   When he reached the end of the staircase, Ben Duke looked around the basement with a shocked and confused face. “Woah, what the heck? What’s happening here? What are you guys doing?”   The three sat on the floor filled with flour, exhausted. “Oh, hey, Ben Duke. As you can see, it’s a mess,” Zack said.   Ben Duke stepped carefully inside, grimacing as his shoes touched the flour on the floor. “What is this? Cooking gone wrong?” he joked.   “Just some experiment,” Peter said nervously without actually saying what were they doing. “It didn’t work.”   Ben Duke looked around the basement, crept out at everything he was seeing. “Geez, what are these voodoo stuff?” he asked and looked at the walls of the basement. “And these creepy pentagrams on the walls. What the heck?”   Ray nodded. “I know. Josh’s uncle is weird.”   Ben Duke looked at them and lastly at Peter. “Just so you know, guys,” he started and shook his head. “You guys look so pathetic. So exhausted.”   Peter stood up and looked at Zack and Ray. “It must be the circle. It’s draining our energy.”   Ray and Zack nodded in agreement.   “What circle?” Ben Duke asked.   Peter looked at the two then to Ben. He shook his head. “I think you don’t need to know.”   Ben Duke shrugged.   “What are you doing here in the middle of the night?” Peter asked.   Ben Duke sighed. “I was bored. Did you guys even eat?”   Ray blinked in realization. “Now that you said that, we never actually ate anything.”   “Should we at least eat something and take a rest?” Zack asked.   “Good idea. Let’s go upstairs,” Peter said.   The four head to the kitchen to take their dinner. Since Ray was experienced in cooking, he insisted to cook their late dinner.   “The only thing I got is a pack of bacon and two pieces of marinated steak,” Ray said.   “I can even eat spoiled food right now,” Zack said.   “No way,” Peter disapproved and looked at Ben Duke who was intently glaring at the lit dinner table. He found it strange. “Ben?” he asked.   Ben looked at Peter as if his bubble was burst. “Hmm?”   Peter shook his head.   When Ray was done cooking, he let Ben Duke have a whole once piece of medium-rare steak with one strip of bacon. Since he was a visitor.   The three divided the last one piece of steak and the remaining bacon.   They ate their food and while ray and Zack were randomly talking about something, Peter watched Ben Duke as he was wildly eating the steak and the piece of bacon together.   Ray laughed. “Woah, slow down, Ben.” The two only laughed and Peter found it very strange.   After that dinner, they decided to take a rest to their rooms on the second floor. Ben Duke occupied the fourth bedroom, which was supposed to be Josh’s   As Peter’s usual, he was enjoying his dream.   Peter created a whole pool and made a scene like it was in the middle of the summer. Of course, it would be boring if he was alone, so created three beautiful women swimming in the pool without clothes.   Peter was in the pool as well, sitting by the stairs. He called one of the women, and the woman swam towards him. She sat beside him, chests almost above the water.   Peter looked at the woman and moved his head, telling her to sit by his lap.   The woman bit her lip seductively and sat on his lap before she took Peter’s hands and let him cup her breasts. As Peter squeezed her breasts a little, the woman arched her back while her hands were on Peter’s shoulder.   Peter grinned and brought her in the middle of the pool.   After he had his fun with the one woman, he then let the three of them touch his body with pleasure.   Peter was enjoying too much of it, and then the next, he decided to make another scenario.   He created a city that was attacked by a monster. He created a suit that fit him and he played a superhero.   He flew across the sky to locate the monster and found it holding a baby and was ready to eat it.   Right at the time, Peter was on the scene. He punched the monster and caught the baby before it would fall on the ground.   He left the baby to a crib and ran to the monster.   The monster was bigger than him and chose to fight him with big punches and attacks.   He lifted the monster and threw it on the outer space, and the monster died frozen on the space.   Peter took the baby and people started to crowd him, cheering his name. As he looked up, he saw the sun-looking thing, which was the dream kingdom.   He suddenly developed a desire for power and wondered a lot of things he could do if he was so powerful. The good things he’d gain with much power in his hands.   He found it new. Before, he was so bored at Wiboe’s tour at the dream kingdom. He had never grown an interest in whatever that was going in inside the dream kingdom. He never wondered what people were doing there, what positions were there in the dream kingdom, anything.   He was entertained enough as a dream lord and stayed down the dream space to wonder and use his powers for his dreams.   But now, as he slowly got used to his power, and as he slowly grew accustomed to his abilities, he started wondering how much more could he get, and how much higher would he reach for his power.   After enjoying the overwhelming happiness that people cheer for his name for saving their lives, he decided to leave his dream and go back to the dream space.   He was inside the copy of the villa, and he was in the hallway on the second floor. He saw two dream orbs there, which he knew was from Ray and Zack.   Come to think of it, he had never actually explored the dream of his friends nor even tried to at least spy the contents of their dreams.   He went to where Ray’s dream orb was and spied his dreams. He saw Ray roaming by the sea, with a map in his hands. He was treasure hunting. Peter stifled a laugh.   He moved to Zack and saw him dreaming about cutting the ribbon for his new shop.   Suddenly, he realized something. Something that just grazed his mind in a short moment.   He stopped spying Zack’s dream and checked the villa for another dream orb, but there was nothing. Josh doesn’t dream because he was stoned.   But he never found another one. Which should be Ben Duke’s.   Strange thing was, they never actually met Ben Duke.
