Better than expected, the maze was far more complicated. He was above them and could see how one could exit that place, but even he found the maze hard to exit.
The four guardsmen were individually standing on four different entrances. Four copies of the psychopath character he created were behind each of them to sneakily follow them and kill them when they got further inside the maze.
He wanted them to go into four different mazes but he thought putting them all to a single maze would benefit him to save some time.
One of the four guardsmen was surprised to see the psychopath character following him with a saw and Peter didn’t think they would be scared that easily. At least he wouldn’t need to deploy different scenarios to kill them.
The psychopathic characters got to each of the guardsmen and successfully killed them but in a brutal way possible. Peter didn’t watch the scene since it looked horrifying and too gore. When the four guardsmen died in that dream he created, he quickly went to the dream space to see if everyone was still dreaming and noticed the four orbs of the guardsmen were pitch-black.
Even the crystal itself was black and it was lying on the ground of the dream space. Peter took it as an indication that the guardsmen were brain-dead in real life, too, since normal crystal orb should be floating around. Whether the dreamer was sleeping or awake.
Dreamlords or those who had average to great attribute power could kill themselves or someone else in their dreams. If they were killed in their dreams, they could be dead in real life, since the effect of killing them in dreams could lead to dysfunction of their brain. In short, being comatose or brain-dead.
Peter moved on to the next person or persons, the two who couldn’t get custody of their children because they didn’t have money.
The scenario he created for them was to make them feel what it was like when they were kidnapped and being sacrificed to the shadow creatures, just like what they did to those people.
Their dream started to be a scene when they woke up in a trunk of a van, their feet, and hands tied while their mouths were covered with cloth. Peter wasn’t sure if it was the same thing they did, but he hoped it was somewhat similar. He wanted them to suffer just like those who did in the hands of their evil greed.
Then, masked people took them out and brought them to a space, where there was a space dug where they would be dumped.
The two screamed help but they couldn’t. Their mouth was covered.
People started holding hands and formed into a circle, surrounding the hole on the ground. They chanted random unknown language that Peter made up while they were poured with a clear liquid. The two were surprised and shocked when shadows emerged from the ground and hovered above. A bunch of shadow monsters possessed them and then one of the masked people lit a match and threw it to them. And so they ended up killed by fire.
Peter quickly checked the dream space again, and two more orbs were added to the ground, empty and black. His plans were favoring him.
He then moved to the member who used his sick daughter as a sacrifice. One of the scary things he knew probably knew was that when dead people haunt you. And that was Peter’s sole plan for this guy.
He used the memory of the man about his daughter and then he created a character who looked like the kid. Of course, he let the man enjoy his time with his daughter. He let him brought the kid to the playground and they spent times like what would father and daughter would.
Peter changed the scenario. She was in the hospital and he was watching over her. Suddenly, he started crying. A doctor and a nurse announced the death of the kid and covered the kid with a clean white cloth.
The man mourned.
Peter had other plans. He snapped his fingers and it was a cue for the dead child to sit up.
“What the heck?” the man shouted and stepped back. The dead kid removed the white cloth and opened her eyes.
“Daddy, why are you scared?” she asked with her voice disembodied. The man became more scared and he yelled and ran to the door when the eyes of the kid turned black, her eyes pouring black liquid that stained her hospital dress.
He tried to open the door but it was locked.
She jumped from the bed and slowly approached the man with a sinister smile. “Why did you kill me, Daddy? Why did you sacrifice me?” she asked as the lights started to flicker. The light turned off which made him scream.
The light returned and the kid wasn’t there. But the man was anxious.
Suddenly, the little girl appeared again with her scary face near his. “Why did you neglect me, Daddy?” she yelled with her voice almost demonic.
The man died there, holding to his chest as if he got a heart attack. Peter left the scene and checked the dream space. Another one was on the ground. “Six more to go,” he said and went to the next one.
He used the same antics to the one who had a friend that died because of him and the ex-convict who killed his brother.
The three beggars, as he observed, their only weakness was drowning. So he had them on a ship and let them drown by the storm on the sea. It was the easiest scenario that he made yet. And he was glad because he didn’t want to wait long to kill them in their dreams.
He returned to the dream space and found five empty and black orbs on the ground.
The last one remained. And he saved the best for the last. For Victor.
He wanted the worst for him, so he used his family’s faces in the scenario. He wanted him to experience his death in the hands of his own family who he killed.
The scenario started just like how he saw in his dream. They were on the way to vacation. But this time, Peter made it look like they were bringing him there instead of him bringing them to the place. His wife was the one driving, beside her was one of their children while his other child was with their grandparents.
He was seated at the back seat, alone and confused.
“Victor, are you excited about the beach? I heard they serve different cuisines there,” Peter made his wife say.
Victor was confused but he just nodded. Without knowing, they arrived at a farm near the sea. Everybody left the van, Victor being the last person to get out.
Right when he stepped out of the van, he turned around and saw his wife holding a meat hammer, her smile so wide and looked sinister.
“What’s that for—“ his words were cut when someone hit his head from behind. He woke up in an empty room, with a big window where he could see his children playing. He looked around and saw the old couple and his wife, watching him.
He looked at himself and he noticed he was bound to a chair.
“Victor, I have been a great wife to you,” the wife said and walked close to him, holding a nail gun. “Look at our children,” she said and Victor just looked outside the window. “Don’t they look happy? They should’ve been like that if you didn’t kill us,” she said which made Victor look at her.
He couldn’t speak. The two old couple walked to him with a mirror and a stapler. “We kept your mouth shut, son,” the old man said. “I know you’ll say other irrelevant things,” he said.
Victor was in disbelief. The scene was slightly glitching which indicated that the dream was either changing or he was waking up. Peter concentrated and held him to his dream so he wouldn’t easily wake up.
The wife pressed the nail gun against his chest, making Victor breathe heavily.
“I guess, this is goodbye,” she said and counted her, the two old couple, and the two kids. “Five. What do you think? Are five nails enough to stop your heart?” the wife asked.
He was about to answer but he remembered his mouth was stapled together. “Goodbye, darling,” she said and let five nails pierce through his chest that all reached to his heart.
Peter left and went to the dream space. Victor’s dream orb was still there.
He quickly woke up and to his surprise, he saw Victor on the door of his cell, holding to his chest. He ran to Peter and pulled him by the collar. He was breathing heavily. “You, you did this!” he struggled to speak. “It’s not my fault, the spirit from my childhood said to me to kill them!” he yelled and fell on the floor, still holding on to Peter’s shirt.
He struggled to breathe as he was holding on to his chest. Victor lied there with his eyes opened.
Peter walked to the door and found that the guardsmen were lying on the floor. He walked to the room the members slept in.
Everyone was dead.
