75 Finding Source Of Energy

The weirdest thing was that the head skull looked like it was as skillful as the books of magic spell.   “What do I do first?” Peter asked and placed the skull head on the ground.   The skull head started jumping around the circle before it got back to Peter. “We have to test how much strong your magic powers are,” the skull said. “Anyone can do magic since everyone had their own spiritual power. I assume you know about this.”   Peter nodded. “I have quite an experience in magic,” he looked at Ray and Zack. “The two of us have it. It was just recently when I discovered magic casting spells,” he explained. “I don’t have great experience in magic spells but I can try,” he said.   “I see,” the skull head started. “Okay. Now, may I ask if you know Orrinatta?” he asked. Peter nodded. “Great. This is easier than I thought,” the skull said. “Basic magic spell I want you to try is levitating things. I won’t make it hard, so try and levitate this,” the skull head said, and just when he said that, a feather suddenly fell on top of the skull head.   Peter smiled. He was confident he would be able to levitate the feather. It looked easy. “How do I do it?” he asked.   “First, tap your spiritual power to your hand and let the spiritual power be one with your mind. Then recite this,” the skull head paused. “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” he said in Orrinatta language. “When you do that, you should be able to control the feather.”   The skull head levitated the feather right before Peter. Peter cleared his throat and stretched his arms, his palms facing down the feather. “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” Peter chanted, even closing his eyes.   He opened his eyes and focused his spiritual power on his palms, letting his mind control the feather. He did that for a few seconds. However, nothing happened. The feather didn’t even budge. Peter looked at the skull head who was just still in its place. “Let me try that again,” Peter said and closed his eyes. “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” he repeated.   His eyes fluttered open and he tried to control the feather again. He grunted and let his arms fall on each of his sides, giving up. “What’s wrong? Is my spiritual power not enough?” he asked.   The skull head hummed. “Could be the case, but try this instead,” the skull head said. The feather changed into a ply of tissue. “Use the same magic spell and try it again,” the skull head instructed.   Peter nodded and closed his eyes. “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” he said and this time he made sure every word as clear as the day. He opened his eyes to try and levitate the ply of tissue. It moved probably a millimeter, which made Peter try hard again to move the tissue more.   But it moved a millimeter and didn’t budge again.   The skull head hummed. “I don’t think your spiritual power is the problem here,” he said. “Can you carry me up and walk around the room?”   “Yeah, sure,” Peter crouched down to pick him up with his hands, then walked the skull head around the lobby room. “Do you sense anything? It’s probably the shadow monsters from outside. They have been here since the sunset last evening,” Peter explained but the skull head didn’t answer.   “Let’s go back to the circle,” the skull head said. Peter nodded and brought the skull head back to the circle, the ply of tissue still on its place. “So,” the skull head started when Peter placed him back to the ground. “It’s not your spiritual power. This place has no energy. And you mentioned the shadow monsters. They are known to drain the energy of the place where they are. They feed into it. They possess creatures to feed into their energy and control them,” the skull head explained.   Peter understood and nodded. That explained his wonders. “Let me discuss this with my friends,” Peter didn’t wait for the skull head to reply. The skull head didn’t even plan to do so.   “Should you try summoning any objects? Maybe if you try summoning the same, you’ll finally summon a book,” Ray said the moment Peter was near them.   Peter shook his head. “He’s just like a book. And he probably knows more than just a book.”   “Then what are you going to do now?” Zack asked.   Peter sighed and dragged himself into deep thought. He was running out of time. “What time is it?” he asked.   Ray answered without checking the time. “Around two. Why?”   “Since you can summon, you can try summoning food you can consume that has energy,” the skull head suggested. “But be careful, you might summon something that has a bad effect,” he warned. “I don’t know how summoning works but you can try that.”   Peter nodded and patted Ray on the shoulder before he decided to go back to the circle and picked up the skull head. “Would you mind if I let my friend carry you while I’m summoning?” The skull head hummed his answer. “Ray, please take this guy. I’ll summon something,” he said.   Ray walked to Peter and took the skull head he stood close to the edge of the circle.   Peter tried to summon it again.   An object from the Atlanchi World; I shall consume you and take your energy. In my name, Peter Cohen, I summon you into this world!   A whirl of wind came to the same effect as their previous summoning, sending their hair and clothes around the air. It disappeared shortly and a black cloud of the portal appeared.   There, something red appeared, its smooth surface shining at the glare of the fluorescent light. An apple. It looked like a normal apple.   Peter picked it up and gave it a feel. It definitely felt like any other apple. It’s not too soft. It had some subtle texture to its skin. He smelled it and it was just apple. He had grown unsure of eating it, though, since it came from another world. He didn’t know what it would make him into. Worst case scenario, he might turn into a monster if he just decides to eat it.   “Take a bite,” Zack said, his arms crossed over his chest. “It just looks like an apple.”   Peter glanced at his friend. “That’s the point. It looks like an apple but I don’t know how it will turn out if I take a bite,” he said. “Why don’t you try it?” he asked Zack.   Zack grimaced at Peter. “No way. If you’re unsure of trying that, then I wouldn’t. It should be you who should take a bite. You’re the one who summoned it,” he said, shrugging.   Peter sighed and looked at Ray. Ray pointed at himself and smiled at Peter before he shook his head. “I don’t want to try it either, Pete,” he said, slightly laughing.   “Is there anyone who wants to try?” he asked the crowd but he immediately got an answer from one of them.    “Why would you want us to try? What if there’s poison there? No one here wants to die,” he said, a little mad at Peter. “Try it yourself if you want to.” Peter nearly sneered at the man. He was just asking. A no would do and he would understand.   “I’m just asking who would want to try. Don’t be too angry about it,” Peter said. “Besides, no one knows what effect it will bring to someone. It might be good or bad. I’m not forcing any of you just to know its effect. I’m only asking someone who would want to,” he said and sighed. “I don’t want to argue anymore. I’ll just summon something else.”   Before he was about to toss it, Linda stood up and walked to Peter. “I would like to try,” she said and snatched the apple from peter’s hand.   “Are you sure? “ Peter asked.   “I’m curious about these things you are doing, and maybe trying this out wouldn’t be bad. It just looked like a normal apple,” she said before she finally took a bite. The piece of apple crunched in her mouth as she chewed on it, feeling and tasting it as she looked at Peter with her eyebrows creased.   Everyone watched her and some even murmured how scary it was to try something that came out of nowhere.   She tossed the bitten apple back to Peter as she continued to chew the small pieces of it inside her mouth. She gulped it down and shrugged. “It tasted just like an apple. It’s just a normal apple.   “Try casting the magic spell and move the ply of tissue,” the skull head said. Just repeat this, “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” he said in English since Linda couldn’t speak Orrinatta.   “Under the shade of light, I call you. Under my palm, be one with my mind,” she repeated with her hands facing the ply of tissue.   She controlled it with her mind and to everyone’s awe, the ply of tissue levitated in the air.   “It works!” Peter exclaimed.
