CHAPTER 4: HURTING INSIDE

I opened my eyes to see a bright spectre of light rays from the open window at my my side. I close my eyes again, and even blink for a couple of times to recover my vision.

I lie in a bed with white pillows on me, the room was covered with plains of whites.

This probably what they calls ' Healing House'.

"Oh! Hey!" I turned my head to notice a smiling woman in her 40's, walking towards my bed. I look at her with wrinkled forehead.

Who's this woman wearing different garments with some unfamiliar apparatus swirling in her neck.

" By the way, I'm Lara, the pack head doctor. I guess your Alexander, the newest member to be part with this pack and was challenge recently. How to do feel now?" She ask me with a bright  smile curved in her lips.

'How do I really feel now?

" Well, I feel numb and tired at the same time. My body's to heavy to carry on. My necks a little bit stiff I couldn't move it as I wanted to." I replied truthfully. I'm really feeling weak after that so called fight with them. Remembering every scenario makes my brain aching, as long as I wanted to regret everything on that fight.

" It's because you've lost so much of your stamina during the fight. It's just mild though it affects so much for you. Ordinarily, werewolves recover faster than humans but you? Have you ever shift?" She asked. Wondering about the situation I'm in.My eyes gone wide as she mutter those question. How could I say this? That I haven't? She will be confuse and if I say I had, will she be confuse? Well, I must try.

" Well yeah! I did shifted already. Why?" Now, its my turn to ask question to her. Its somewhat a lie, but haven't just one time.

' PSH! Liar eh!' Maiven interfere in my head. He must be good as dead, tss.

'Shut up Maiven, I already shifted one time and that's the worst thing I ever did.' I replied back. Better be honest than lying. But, lying is also better in such thing.

" Aaahhhh! But I couldn't still figured out, why does your body not seems to recover fast from loosing half of your energy. Supposedly, a wolfs blood type is different than any. When a wolf loss his/her stamina at once, it'll recover fast at a time due to our genetic courier from our DNA code. Cuts and wounds did also recover fast even c***k bones.

Our cells starts to repair themselves and will regenerated at the same time, then replace the use blood with another just like a simple cycle. Repair and regenerate are the main process. When a wolfs be in an unconscious state its just for a while. Regaining consciousness will take 2 or more hours to completely recover the loss. Your case is different yet a mystery to me. There is this missing pieces that puzzled me. As I've said, our cells are different from humans that's why we recovers faster that they are.

As I have observed, your cells does repairing and regenerating by themselves but your not recovering very well, as expected you to be. I really didn't understand why? But anyway can I further examine you blood sample to put up these mysteries? I promise not to do anything to it." She ask. Looking into her face, she's like an angle but looks could be deceiving in any cases. What if she will do something to it? But, what if she's just wanted to help me?  Should I let her?

'Don't let her. She might destroys us in the end.' Maiven contradict. I just shrugged. You already destroys ourselves maiven since from the start. What would I scared off now?

"Okay, and please kindly inform me if you found anything suspicious in my blood."

" Well, ofcourse you shall. I already got some sample of your blood. Now, can I leave you for a while?" She said acting to leave.

"Ahh! Okay I'm fine here." I just compel a wide smile to assure her. She smiled at me before she walk out.

*sigh

I still don't understand the turn of events. My blood is abnormal in any case and that's for sure. I born normal. When I fell unconscious during the fight with maiven in the western forest (refers to prelude). I recover fast that time, and that's a mystery. When I got an over fight with some rougues at the forest and went unconscious, I woke up lying in the cave when I must be in the forest. And the worst thing is that I woke up late in the evening or was it midnight. That's confusing.

That time I woke up and recovered myself fast. Was it the moon was giving me strength?-- arrghh I shouldn't overthink too much. I lie myself at the bed and calm my trembling soul. I must be abnormal and that's the final case.

I close my eyes. I couldn't sleep. Still, I close my eyes and I fell into a deep slumber of wilderness.

I headed several noises all around the place. A beeping sound, a walking sound and were-people talking something I couldn't comprehend. A bright dazzling light rays enter my eyesight, as if someone's trying to open my eye.

I move my arms just when someone pull off. Then, I opened both my eyes to see most of the pack including uncle johann and oh my moon! 'Mate' said maiven and I in unison. What is he doing here? I can't really believe that my mate is finally here.

" Oh! Thanks that your now awake." Said uncle johann with a worried expression plastered on his face. What is he worrying at? I'm not yet dead. That fight probably cannot kill me. I smiled to him as assurance like' hey, uncle I'm still alive and kicking.'

Finally, I turn my gaze to the love of my life who was currently looking at me with a black expression displayed of his face. My hearts throbbing like hell with just a single stare. Damm, he must be secretly seducing the hell out of me.

He then walk over to the left side.  He sit directly at the chair and gently cross both his legs. Told you, he's secretly a flirty. That man. He held a newspapers from the side table. A man reading newspaper with matching cross legs is really awesome. That man is him. Now, I could be able to examine his features. I just smirk playfully.

He was wearing a fitted black jeans, white tsirt is covered with black tuxedo i guess with some necktie on it. The suit make him looking pretty. Oh! My pretty man!

He's face are serious while reading the news. Brows made a cute curve while his pointy nose line are too hard to resist. He has this pair of kissable lips and a perfect jaw. I therefore conclude that this man is good looking.

I dunno but I entire attention are just focus on this man. He's lovely dangerous.

I immediately turn on my head as he gently look at me. That was embarrassing to know that I secretly fantasizes him.

" Oh my! You've rest very well Alexander. You've slept for 3 days straight and never in my entire lives to encounter a wolves who slept for a couple of days ahead. A werewolf never sleep for so long. The most confusing part is when I hold at your pulse to notice that your heat stop beating for half of an hour then return to its normal beating but again it'll loss and it came back. I thought you were dead  that's why I called out for doc Lara's help about your situation. We checked out again for your heart beating when we waited for several minutes before it finally went back. Then the cycle continues, I inform the alpha about your situation. " uncle said.  My body's acting some abnormalities lately.

" then I decided to inspected your eyes to look for any signs of life. Just when you wake up. How does you feel now?" Ask doc Lara. She's currently looking to me with disbelief. Well, that was for sure. If I am gonna talk about the situation being almost dead.. Argghh! It gives me headache.

" Honestly, I feel better now." I really feel better like I haven't fighting and nothing happens. Weird but I kinda wanted to fly. Ang gaan kasi ng pakiramdam ko! Ops!

They look at me for a while.

" Why does it-"

" Can I go home now?" I ask cutting her off when's about to ponder another question. It must all about my abnormalities And I don't like it. She just look at me once in a while.

" Yeah! Seems that you already recovered yourself. I'll discharge you tomorrow but not now, I'll keep running some test for you."

"But I wanted to go home. Look! I'm good!" I insist, but her expression is stoic.

" No!" I can't win so I decided to calm myself and lie on the bed.

The alpha seems so quite. I steal a gaze at him who looks so serious. What was he thinking? Uncle johann have given me a basket with some fruits. I just put it at the beds side table and mutter "thank you uncle!"

I wake up feeling really alright. I'm good. The pack doctor, doc Lara keep on checking and running some test yesterday and now she end up discharging me.

The alpha and uncle johann came back to get me home. I dunno what's with the alpha. I mean, we are about to go home when he said,

" I'll accompany him to your cabin." He said to uncle while staring at me. He gives me goosebumps the way he look at me.

On our way to our cabin, several werewolves looked at me. Their gaze conveyed something I couldn't comprehend. Like, they want to warn me about something, or was it about the fight that I've lost? I just ignore them all and continued walking.

The alpha, there is something bothering him. I know, behind that serious face, he's bothered. We are about to enter the cabin when the alpha says,

" Keep going warrior, I still need to talk to him." Uncle johann just nod to him and enter his cabin. He look at me straight in my eyes. He's stares are killing me. He's eyes are beautiful that I lost if I never put off my gaze.

" Follow me!" He commands and walk ahead in the east, the most silent part of the forest. The trees are big, I turn back to look for our cabin. Its just a meter away from here.

He stop under a tree of mahogany. Its leaves begun to fall by just a calm breeze. Making the scenario more romantic to consider. He turn back facing me.  I notice that he's a little bit taller than me.

He's expression become stoic. The wind blows eerily while the leaves fall at us freely. And the last thing I knew that my eyes shedding in tears.

" I want to talk to you personally and just wanna advise that, Next time, don't be so weak and fragile in front of the villagers. Fight and shift if you have to just don't be a burden to us and end up a shame in my pack." After he muttered those hurtful words, he left me dumbfounded.

I'm still standing while crying. I'm not a burden.

I'm not a weak.

I want to say it straight into him but I couldn't. I'm eaten by emotional distress. How could he do this to me?

I felt Maiven growls inside. He's hurting too. My heart sucks. I'm physically feeling alright, but now the pain is not really in my outside.

I'm feeling better but I'm HURTING INSIDE.
