Devin stopped walking. “What do you mean you created me?”
“Step in here and have a seat.” Brian held the conference room door open. “We’ll explain everything.”
Brian looked at Matthew. “Start telling him what happened. I need to make the call.”
Devin and Matthew entered the room. Devin looked around at the plain-looking room. There was nothing on the walls, and other than the large table and matching chairs, there was nothing else. It felt cold and impersonal.
They sat, and Matthew said, “We’ll tell you everything. We have no reason to hold anything back. However, some of what I tell you might be a bit difficult, okay?”
