Early the following day, Paul walked into the lab. On the floor was a shattered light bulb. Bending down, he up the bulb"s base with the jagged glass edges sticking out. He carefully turned it over in his hand while absently thinking about what would happen in a few hours. He would travel back about twelve hours to remove this light bulb from Tom"s contraption and place it on the counter so it wouldn’t be damaged. “I see it broke,” said the voice from behind him. Startled, Paul whipped around and saw Tom standing in the doorway. As he turned, his hand jerked, and one of the glass edges of the destroyed light bulb ripped into the side of the index finger on his right hand.
