“This really sucks. I still can’t believe your brother demoted me.” Oliver groans from behind me as he massages my sore shoulders.
We are at our usual spot in the woods where we always spend time together, just the two of us. Today we trained harder than ever. He pushed me to my limits so much that I nearly passed out. He says I’m getting stronger but I’m still just a normal human being.
“Do you think he’s trying to get revenge on you because of the whole ‘secret mission’ thing?” I ask and wince when his thumb pushes too hard.
“I bet he is. He’s never forgiven me and always keeps me at arms length. It’s even worse now that he knows that we’re mates. It’s like he’s waiting for me to f**k something up just so he can throw it back in my face.”
