Chapter Five: Fear

1102 Words
Serena's POV Velmior The name kept ringing in my head as I paced my room. Who was that man? What does Velmior have to do with him? Calm down Serena, you're being unusually tense. Myrren rolled her eyes. Unusually tense? Myrren I swore I've seen that man but I can't remember where. I'm being serious here. I retorted. Are you sure? Because I'm not sure I've ever seen someone like him not with that evil aura like his. You can feel his aura too? My interest was piqued by Myrren's words. Of course I can, what am I, three? Myrren scoffed. If Myrren could feel that man's aura too, it must mean that there's something strange about that man but I wasn't ready to find out what it was. Days passed in a roll and before I knew it two weeks were gone. I laid down on my bed as my thoughts drifted to my mom. To be honest I miss her, I really do. I wondered what she'd be doing now, would she be at Alpha Carl's house?. She goes there to clean. My mind wandered to the day I was brought here, the day I was taken from mom. Did she show any form of resistance against Ronan? But even if she did, Ronan was clearly too strong for her, she couldn't fight him. A knock on the door jolted me from my thoughts. “Who's there?” I said. The voice I heard made me angry. Couldn't Katja just leave me alone and focus on other things, her constant presence in my life brought me nothing but anger. “Alpha Ronan requires your presence, he..he said it's urgent” Katja told me. I could hear hesitancy in her voice but I didn't think much about it. “I'll be there soon” I wasn't ready to start an argument, I was already depressed as it is. I took a deep breath, walked out and locked my door behind me. I started locking my door since the incident of the appearance of the strange dagger. I needed to be extra careful around here, seeing that everyone was a suspect. A guard directed me to Ronan's office room and I couldn't help but examine the interior decoration of the office. The office was black, everything was painted black. Before this I've always detested the color black, it spelled bad omen for me. But seeing Ronan's office I fell for the color, I fell hard. “Seems like you like my office, are you impressed” I heard Ronan say and looked up. I could hear the tease in his voice. “Well there's nothing special about it, it's okay” I shrugged. Ronan stood up and I couldn't help but marvel at his beauty. Damn! This guy is so fine. Serena we hit a jackpot you know? Getting a mate like this? I can't wait to pounce on him. I could imagine the look on Myrren's face. My heart began to beat fast as Ronan approached me. I could feel my wolf drawn to his wolf. His overwhelming scent blurred my senses, I couldn't think well with him standing in front of me. I could feel his heated gaze on me. His nostrils flared as he struggled to steady his breaths. Serenaaaaaa he's aroused, jump on him already Could Myrren make things any worse than they already were? I'm trying so hard not to jump on him. How could I want him and hate him? “Serena” Ronan called me. His voice was husky now and his eyes were hooded with lust. Before I could say anything, Ronan kissed me. His kiss wasn't slow and unhurried, it was fast, possessive and dark. He kissed like he was starved, like it was his last kiss. His hand cupped the back of my head while his other hand was placed on my back. His hand on my lower back trailed past my waist to my ass and to be honest, I enjoyed it. Fucking finally, finally, fin…aaaa..lyyyy I blocked Myrren’s chants. My hands wrapped round Ronan's neck as I drew him closer. I could feel his erection pressing against his briefs and I couldn't help but grind against him. “Arghhhh, Serena don't, unless you want me to take you right here on my desk.” I shuddered inwardly at Ronan's words, his words creating an image in my head. I brought my hands to Ronan's chest to stop him from taking this further. I still hate him. I took a step back and I instantly regretted it, I miss his body heat. His eyes never left mine as he studied me, his gaze still intense. I pressed my hands on my chest to adjust my clothes and put on my poker face to show I wasn't in the least affected by him. A smirk appeared on his face, it gave him a lazy appearance. “Katja said you wanted to see me, what for?” I spoke steadily to my own surprise. My question washed off every humour on his face, his expression became serious. “Well yes that's true. Actually I called because there's someone I'd like you to meet” Ronan said. Someone I had to meet? Who was that? My brows furrowed in curiosity. “Who's that? Do I know this person?” I had to ask to be sure. “I'll take you to him” A male? But who was it? Before I could ask Ronan, he walked past me and I followed after him. Ronan's park was beautiful, no doubt. I pressed my hands against the marble walls. The walls were surprisingly warm. We came to a stop at a door, a guard opened it and the first person I laid my eyes on was him. Was he the one Ronan said I was meeting? What's he doing here Serena, I don't like the idea of you meeting him. “Serena meet Velmior, he's a seer and he came because of the prophecy” Ronan said. My eyes widened. “Serena, the cursed Luna. Cursed enough to kill her mate” Velmior said, voice low and deliberate. My body froze. The walls that had felt warm seconds ago now bled cold. His words slithered through the air, coiling around me like smoke. Ronan’s head snapped toward me, eyes dark and unreadable. The room seemed to tilt. My breath caught. “What did you just say?” I whispered. But Velmior’s smile only widened. My mark pulsed once, hot, sharp, alive. And then everything went dark.
