Too Good for the Troll Pt. 3

I continued, “The healer from the shroud sends me my birth control pills in three months' supply at a time.” Chase said, “That’s handy.” I clapped, “Isn’t it? I’ve never got a cold before, but you should get condoms in case I have to take an antibiotic.” Chase spit out his water the waitress brought him. I said, “Noah’s mom went to A LOT of detail when I went on birth control. She always tried to help me. She’s always so sad. I don’t know why though. She’s the nicest one in the family. The troll’s little brother…. He’s not as bad as his big brother.” Chase said, “Your brother called him an asshole.” I shrugged, “He’s eighteen and trying to prove himself. He always wanted me to be his sister, and I think the troll told him I would be. He’s not so bad. The troll though… he’s horrid.” Chase said, “And he’s a troll who is not worthy of sally f*****g Quaid.” I said, “Damn straight!” 

        The waitress brought our food. I squealed “THIS SMELLS AMAZING!” I looked at chase, “Not you amazing, but amazing.” The waitress shot a questioning glance at Chase. I dug into my food. Inhaled all my food. I looked up to see both of them staring at me in shock. I shrugged and grabbed my milkshake and drank it down. I held my head, “Ohhhh brain freeze!” Chase said, “You don’t chug a milkshake sweetheart!” I said, “I think I knew that.” Chase laughed and ate his food. I waved the waitress down, “Do you have chocolate cake?” The waitress laughed, “We do.” I said, “Can I have a cake?” Chase said, “Do you mean a piece?” I shook my head, “No, the whole cake. I want the whole cake.” The waitress laughed, “We have three slices left.” I sighed, “I suppose that will do.” Chase laughed and the waitress came back with my pieces of cake. I ate them all and sat back. “I think I’m good now.” Chase said, “That’s good. They are out of cake.” I smiled at him, “You’re so cute.” Chase smirked, “Let’s go to your P.O Box.” i jumped up, “Right, gotta be cautious.” Chase laughed and led me outside. He opened the door again. “Wolves, man. Everyone needs a wolf. Except someone needs my brother. He’s a good one.” Chase said, “I’m sure he will find his second chance sweetheart.” He ran around and got in the car. I directed him towards my P.O box. Chase was tense. I said, “Turn that frown upside down. OHH we are here!” I ran inside. Bumped into a man. “Oh I’m sorry.” The man laughed, “That’s alright.” Something looked familiar about him, but I couldn’t place it. I shrugged and went to my P.O. Box I grabbed my birth control.  I grabbed it and the man I’d bumped into was still there. He was a little older than me, but not by much. Probably between Heath and I age wise. That was a guess though. He could be older.

        I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around with a smirk on his face. Something about him was so familiar, “Do I know you?” I asked him. He shook his head, “You don’t.” I frowned, “I think I do. You look familiar. What’s your name?” The guy laughed, “James.” I said, “That was my dad’s name.” The guy smirked, “Was it?” I nodded, “I think he’s dead. Are you sure that I don’t know you?” The guy frowned, “You think your dad is dead?” I said, “Pretty sure. There’s like a five percent chance he’s not.” The guys frowned, “Are you alright Lexi? You’re out late. Are you drunk?” I said, “Oh, I’m fine. Had myself a girl’s night. A Friend of mine’s ex is an ass. My ex too. He’s the f*****g worst. We call him the troll! Gotta run! My guy is waiting on me. He’s the sweetest!” I got to the door then turned, “Wait! How did you know my name?” I turned but the guy was gone. I frowned. I was drunk. I was imaging people and talking to them. I got out to the car. Chase was still tense. “Did you see anyone come out?” Chase frowned, “No. Did you see anyone?” I said, “I don’t know. The only way out is the front. Thought I did. Damn he looked familiar. Oh well. I admit defeat. I’m drunk.” Chase laughed, “You are, but it’s adorable.” I sighed, “Aww, you’re just sweet on me. My mom always told me my string would find everything about me great. Like dad and mom did.” Chase smiled, “I am very sweet on you.” I giggled, “That’s good. I’m sticking around for a while. I’d even fight someone for you. My style.” Chase laughed, “What’s your style?” I said, “It’s a secret, but I kick ass... Shhhh.” Chase laughed but I was serious. I’d go black arrow on someone for my man. 

        We got back to my house. Chase led me inside and we went up to my room. I set an alarm for a few hours. “I want to be there when they wake up, but I want to stay with you.” Chase smiled and put his arms around me in bed, “You can always stay with me, sweetheart.” I smiled, “I love you Chase.” Chase smiled, “I love you too Lexi.” I smiled and drifted off to sleep. My alarm beeped waking me up. I bolt up in bed not remembering how I ended back up at my place. Chase was standing at the end of the bed. He had a red drink in a glass. “It’s Gatorade. How are you feeling?” I sat up, “Fine. When did I get here?” Chase laughed, “You came over here once Ted and Sally fell asleep. We went to my diner and your P.O. Box.” I laughed, “Did we really?” Chase nodded, “You also tried to set up Kincade and Sally.” I laughed, “She needs a wolf, but they could work. He could be her second chance string.” Chase laughed, “No, he’d feel drawn to her. He currently thinks she’s cute and funny, but he doesn’t feel anything like he would. If they were second chance mates.” I sighed, “Oh well. Maybe someone else.” Chase smiled, “I'm sure she’ll get someone else. Come on downstairs.” I came downstairs and gaped, “You made omelets?” Chase smiled, “It’s a specialty of mine.” I sat down and took a bit, “A damn good specialty.” I ate my food and ran upstairs to brush my teeth. I came back down and found Chase cleaning the dishes. It was silly, but that touched me.

        I came up behind him kissing his bare back. He turned, “Lexi.” I said, “Take me back to bed Chase.” Without a word he picked me up and took me upstairs. He took me out of his hoodie. “Do you have any idea how good you look in my clothes?” I laughed, “They are too big for me.” Chase growled, “It’s so f*****g hot.” His trailed kisses down my neck. I hooked my toes in his shorts and yanked them down. He pulled off my pants. I pulled him back up to me, “I need you right now Chase.” Chase smirked, “I’m going to have to plan a getaway for us so I can take my damn time with you.” I smirked, “I could take some time off. Just let me know when.” Chase entered me, “I’ll plan something. I’m taking you far… far away.” I laughed but then moaned as he slammed into me. I gripped his arms, “Chase…” He leaned down, “I'm going to make you scream my name.” I was halfway there anyway. He did make me scream his name. A lot. I got up and dressed in some leggings and looked longingly at Chase’s hoodie. “Has Haley seen you in that hoodie?” Chase said, “Uh... no.” I smiled “Good. I wanted to wear it.” I grabbed it and put it on.” Chase hugged me, “Call me later.” I nodded. “Ted probably moved all our appointments to tomorrow.” Chase kissed me, “Let’s get going.” I nodded and walked outside. Kevin was waiting. I laughed, “Where’s Kincade?” Kevin said, “He’s already at Ted’s. We decided that would be more efficient than both of us chasing you.” I laughed. I kissed Chase again, “Have a good day.” I told him. I forced myself to run away as fast as I could towards Ted’s house.” I walked in the front door. Ted was already up with a computer. He glanced up, “Well you have I got f****d hair.”

            I turned red, “So do you.” Ted goes, “Matt sent the guards away, and we had ourselves a romp in the woods. Never fancied myself the type, but...damn if it wasn’t hot Lex.” I laughed, “I’m sure it was.” Ted said, “Apparently I talked to Matt on the phone for several hours last night. I told him you had better have been with Chase because you weren’t here.” I laughed, “I was surprised when I woke up with Chase. I was expecting to see your face.” Ted said, “Well then did you scream?” I laughed and hit him, “No. Is Sally up yet?” Ted said, “She just hopped into the shower.” I nodded, “Moving our appointments?” Ted nodded, “Just had to move one. Our day was light today.” I nodded and went to make some coffee. Sally came in, “I’ll make us breakfast.” I smiled, “I had an omelet.” Ted said, “OH MY GOD! A SALLY QUAID OMLET PLEASE GODDESS!” Sally laughed, “I’ll whip you one up for you Ted.” I said, “Well….” Sally laughed, “I’ll make you one too, Lex.” We finished our breakfast and turned on some of Ted’s Friends dvd’s. We all turned when we heard a pop singling Haley’s arrival. I turned and winced; Haley’s eyes were gold. I sighed. Sally said, “So, it’s not altered.” Haley said, “I’m sorry Sally. Well, I’m sorry he hurt you. I’m not sorry you are moving are to better f*****g things than the troll.” Sally smiled and hugged her quick hug. “Thank you for checking.” Haley sighed, “I don’t know what happens with a rejection. Does anyone know?” I winced, “Heath said there could be pain.”

        Sally laughed, “There could be pain if either party wanted to be together. We aren’t wolves. If Noah loved me, he’d be in pain. If I was in love with him. It would hurt me. Instead it will hurt for a brief second and then I’m free.” I said, “So there’s no question he will know you’ve rejected him?” Sally said, “He will know. He will feel our tether to each other snap.” Haley said, “Then let’s have a plan first. Do you want to stay here in this realm?” Sally said, “I’d like to go to the Hackura realm for a few weeks. If that’s an option.” Haley said, “My mom has a room ready for you just in case.” Sally laughed and Haley said, “Their cook is actually pregnant. Her name is Cindy, she found her mate in our realm. He’s a warrior, and he wants her to take it easy. So if you want to, you are more than welcome to cook there.” Sally smiled, “Just what I need. A kitchen. You are my fairy godmother.” Haley laughed, “I seem to be a few people’s fairy godmother. I’ll have to get you some shoes.” Ted and I bit our lips while Sally laughed. Haley was serious and Sally had no clue. “How long do you want to stay there?” Sally sighed, “I contacted my sous chef at my business. She’s going to run things, and I told her to hire help if she needed it. I want to stay through Halloween.” Haley laughed, “You’ll be there a while then. I’ll bring you back to this realm after Halloween here. It will feel longer than that there though.” 

        Sally nodded, “Alright.” She took a deep breath, “Let’s do this.” She hugged me and Ted. “Thank you both. All three of you actually but thank you for everything. I won’t be gone too long.” Ted wiped a tear, “Two weeks without my Sally Quaid. I’ll kill the troll myself.” We all laughed. Sally said, “Stay safe Lexi. He will come for you.” Haley snorted, “He better f*****g not. I’ll f*****g end him and his stupid f*****g face.” I smiled, “You’d have to get to him first.” I took out my phone and shot Heath a text.

Me: Tape wasn’t altered. Sally is going to reject Noah. Haley is going to take her away for some space.

Heath: I’m with Noah now. I will see what happens.

Me: Ok.

Heath: Everything will be ok Lexi. 

I nodded to Sally. She said, “I, Sally Quaid, a member of the hood, reject Noah Calver, a member of the hood as my string.” She gasped and dropped to the floor. She winced and I ran to her. I rubbed her back. She took a deep breath then nodded to me. I helped her stand up. She smiled, “I’m free. I’m finally free of him.” Haley took her hand, “Let’s go.” Sally nodded, “See you guys in two weeks.” Ted grabbed my hand as Sally popped away. He sat down dramatically. “What the hell are we going to do today? I cancelled our whole day already.” I laughed, “Well, I’m sure we can think of something.” Ted sat up smirked, “Oh… we definitely can.”
