Fairy Visits Pt 3

Aiden’s eyes sparkled, “Yes, she does have that ability to make people like her. Even among any supernatural group. It’s fascinating because that is NOT a fairy trait OR Hackura trait. It’s unique to my sister alone. Maybe partial fairies themselves as many people like my cousin Emmaline as they do my sister. Or are they unique? These are the questions I ponder because they are quite unique those two. No one can argue that. It’s fun to see who Haley was always meant to be. I hate that I facilitated her hiding this marvelous nature of hers. It means I have to be grateful to all the wolves and assassins for her general countenance. It’s highly annoying. It’s fun at the same time. All these people constantly talk about killing me. It’s quite funny.  Some of them mean it. Others simply say it.” I said, “If Alpha Conners threatened to kill you; he means it.” Aiden laughed, “Oh I know he does. He’s conflicted about it now though because my death would hurt my sister. Our brother’s death cut her deeply. Her wolf knows that it weighs on her but yes. He does mean it when he says he would kill me. It hurts him because he knows my death would wound my sister more deeply than our brothers, and that still weighs on her. I should’ve taken that burden from her. Yet another way I failed her. I think that her wolf trying to kill me would be a fun challenge. He’s quite formidable, but so am I. It would be an interesting experiment should he decide to try to kill me. I couldn’t very well just try to kill him. I would lose my sister forever, and I am not willing to do that.”          I said, “You wouldn’t be able to kill him.” Aiden smiled, “Probably not. I would not try though so according to google that would be a moot point.” Matt said, “Google again. Did fairies not know about google until recently? Interesting comment. So you believe your sister would never forgive you if you hurt or killed Alpha Conners; however, you do not believe the same in reverse.” Aiden smiled, “My sister discovered it. I have only dabbled, but it does seem quite helpful. She is INSISTING we come for thanksgiving dinner at her home because of google and what it says. She even says she’s cooking instead of snapping some of the food. She seems to believe pie is important along with the turkey. I believe she intends to cook those things herself. I’m hoping I can be free soon enough to see her in the kitchen. I’ve never seen food not conjured or snapped. Should be interesting. I’m reserving judgment of this google until then. If it is a fun time, then google has it’s uses. If not, oh well.  Again not the point, you all are distracting.”          He laughed, “As it happens, I had the chance in my sister’s life to be as important as your mate is to her and I blew it. I am making amends. I recognize my egregious error when she is concerned. I am correcting that. I hope to one day be considered as your mate is to her. Though, I feel that could be misinterpreted. I am important to my sister now. I showed her acceptance at her wedding and danced with her. To anyone outside the Fae that would not make sense, but that is what my sister has always wanted. Public acceptance. If someone stood opposed to me, Haley would stand with me. Your Lexi…. Haley would beat your she wolf within an inch of her life if Lexi cried about you being married. Not even to Haley. If Haley found out she knew and cried…. Sophia would...be in trouble. There would probably be fairy charms and physically ass kicking going down. I hope that one day my sister would do the same for me, but that day is not today.” I said, “That was a lot of information. You believe this is heading towards Haley kicking Sophia’s ass. Even though she was being nice at first?” Aiden laughed, “I am rambling. As I said, this group is quiet makes me talk more. Yes, I do believe your she wolf is heading down a path that will get his ass beaten. I think you will need her wolf to calm her down. Prior to him meeting him her brother could’ve, but now… I think only her wolf can stop her. I personally hope he’s busy or something. That would be FAR more entertaining. Plus, I understand your she wolf quite a bit from what I know. She needs an ass kicking. The young often do. I think she will do good things though once she gets on the right path. She’s a bright one. I believe her path is that of Beta Matt and Ted’s. She just didn’t have the encouragement around her that Beta Matt did. Tragic for her. My sister would love to be her biggest champion. I fear… that could be decades off. It might even require your mate to appeal on your she wolf’s behalf. Who knows if that will happen? Maybe in a ribbon thread”         I said, “Ribbon thread? Oh god. Ok. I’ll find out later. So your solution to wanting your sister to be happy is to throw a man into her known social group that wants to have a s****l relationship with her when she doesn’t want that. Not to mention her mate is…. possessive with a capital P when it comes to her.”  Aiden smiled, “Exsis would never hurt my sister. I would never allow him anywhere near her if he would. She has suffered enough, and I will not let that happen again.” He looked at his watch, “I believe our time is up. Do tell Haley’s wolf I said hello when you call him about our meeting. I’m sure he misses my voice. We didn’t speak at all the last two days. It’s quite the record for us since my sister came into his life. He may deny it, but I know he delights in our chats. He learns things. He also despises them with a passion. I love my brother-in-law and his delightful nature.” With that the fairy King popped out.          Matt said, “Fuck.” I took a deep breath, “Get Alpha Eric Conners on the phone. While we attempt to digest that information. He can’t lie so he does know what Sophia’s secrets are. SOMEONE figure out how he is so well damn informed.” Matt nodded. He got through to Beta Caleb and told him we had an urgent need to speak to his Alpha. Alpha Eric Conners was on the phone in minutes, “Alpha Chase.” I said, “You have a problem.” Alpha Eric snorted, “I have a problem? Oh f**k… did Haley go to see Alpha Sophia again?” I said, “Not that I know of, and I think according to everything I just learned; we should be grateful for that. I just got a visit from King Aiden.” Alpha Eric laughed, “Better you than me. That f*****g man delights in ruining my damn day by withholding information or giving it.” I said, “He gave it today. Seems a fairy has been appointed as a liaison between the fairy’s and the Hood.” Alpha Eric said, “Why does that statement give me a bad feeling?” I said, “Because the fairy is Exsis.” Our office phone speaker nearly blew from his growl. “So… have you met him then Alpha Conners?” I asked. Alpha Conners said, “No, and I better f*****g not.” I said, “Seems unlikely. Given that he is the hood liaison and your mate…. Is friends with members of the hood.” Alpha Jackson said, “What could Aiden be doing? He knows Haley would never leave you, Eric. He knows that she can’t leave you. You have children together; you are tied together forever. Aiden doesn’t even want her to be without you. He knows that would hurt her; he’s been making an effort with her. This move doesn’t make sense.” Alpha Eric was quiet for several moments, “I f*****g hate my wife’s fairy brother sometimes, but he’s smarter than I give him credit for.”          I said, “I’m not seeing his play here. If it’s not for this fairy to be around your mate, and he claims it’s not, I’m out of ideas. f**k it’s not a claim. He outright stated it, Alpha Conners. My gamma and Beta can back me up. We know he can’t lie. That’s not why Exsis will be around.” Eric growled, “I believe I actually understand what my brother-in-law... f**k WHY is he my brother-in-law. I know what he’s doing. Aiden is testing Exsis. Arion’s betrayal of Aiden colors many of his moves now. He’s trying to see who he can trust. He’s giving Exsis and the Hood something they both want. While securing an alliance. By using Exsis he’s seeing if he can trust him. He knows with him in Haley’s orbit… he won’t have to kill Exsis himself if he’s not trustworthy. All the fairies know I’ll kill for my Angel. If Exsis betrayed Aiden and made a play for Haley; I’d kill the stupid fairy faster than anyone could blink. Or her brothers would if they were there and I was not for some reason. If Aiden told Haley Exsis betrayed him in a way I wouldn’t give a s**t about… Haley would kill him or ask me to, and I would.” I was silent. It was brilliant.          I said, “Should Exsis pop in our territory to see Ted… we will call you.” Eric said, “Joy.” He hung up the phone. Matt whistled “It is smart. He got an alliance, a subject who believes they are being a trusted advisor, and a guaranteed kill switch should the subject betray him.” I said, “The problem is the Princess doesn’t seem to notice men’s interest in her. The fairy could go to her, and she wouldn’t believe anything was amiss.” Matt said, “True, but she isn't trustful of full blooded fairies. Her brother may be an exception. Maybe even his queen and their children. She might not understand Exsis’ interest, but I do think she wouldn’t mention the fairy to Alpha Conners. Or she’d tell Molly. Those two have become quite close. Molly would understand and tell her to tell Alpha Eric. She’d listen and he would know the situation. Then there’s the catch all; Molly said Haley is being more open with her Hackura family. She could tell them. Exsis would surely be dead. They have made it clear they want Alpha Eric for Haley and Alpha Eric alone. They would not let a wildcard stand. They’d just kill him.” I said, “I was going to ask you. Why did she only bring Molly out with Lexi and Ted?” Matt frowned, “It’s not widely known, but it involved my sister, so I know the details. The Conners women all had a falling out. Haley has massive walls up with the other girls. Because they kept a secret after saying they had no secrets. Haley’s fairy side was not having that s**t.  Molly put her life on the line for Haley and her children. It broke down the wall. They train together now; that’s further bonded the two of them together.”          I nodded, “I could see that. I’m sure my father will have an uphill battle with Lexi. Now that he went to her office and demanded she stay away from me like a crazy person whose son isn’t almost twenty-three years old.” Derrick snorted, “I think he’s got more of a battle with you and Susie. She walked right past him on her way to school. Didn’t even look at him. Lexi wants him to like her according to Kevin and Kincade.” I laughed, “Ahhh Susie. That’s her mother’s sass and that Alpha blood in her. She’ll forgive him eventually. She’s a daddy’s girl.” Matt said, “And you?” I shrugged, “It’s too soon. I asserted myself because I had to because he went behind my back. Because he HURT Lexi’s feelings. It doesn’t mean I liked it. It doesn’t mean Reagan and Nadine’s screams and tears didn’t get to me. Or that my brother being upset with me doesn't affect me. It does.” Derrick said, “You think Cameron is upset with you?” I said, “I know he is. Despite what he did, that’s our father. Cameron knows what my dad did was wrong. He would’ve handled it differently than I did though.” They both shrugged. We got to work.         Everything went fairly smooth. No fairy named Exsis popped up. Matt, Derrick, and I got all our disputes and paperwork handled. Throughout the week Lexi and Ted were putting in some extra hours in preparation for their vampire event. I’d convinced Lexi to bring some things to my house when she was coming to see Susie. I was more than excited to have her in what would one day be our room. Hell, I was excited to have her here in our home. On Saturday morning I got out of bed and made breakfast for Lexi. She’d been working so hard, and she was going to spend the morning with Susie. It was the least I could do for her.  Matt was pouting because Ted would be heading out after lunch to set up their event. I told him he could go with him, but he said he didn’t want to crowd Ted. Matt said Ted was a basket case over everything being perfect. Matt thought his presence might just make him more nervous. I thought it would calm him, but Ted wasn’t my mate. I let the smell of the food wake Lexi up. She stretched in bed. God, I wanted to see that little barely awake smile every damn day. We went downstairs, and Lexi told me some things about Haley when they first met. I made a mental note NEVER to touch even her hand. Let Haley initiate any kind of touching. I would feel terrible if I triggered something like her rubbing her skin raw. I was stunned that Haley and Alpha Conners were having such big problems at the summit. I managed not to snort at Lexi saying Alpha Conners thought Haley was going to leave him. I wondered if she had any idea that Alpha Conners would not LET that happen. He was not that type of man. He loved her with everything he had, and he was a man who got what he wanted. That’s why he was Alpha Eric Conners.          Lexi laughed telling me no one had a better poker face than Haley. I was thinking that Alpha Conners might. We were never having a couple’s night where we played games with those two. They win everything. I promised Lexi I wouldn’t tell. That would be a great way to get dead. I had no intention of dying. Lexi skipped to her car. I was jealous my little sister was going to spend the day with my mate. I told her I was excited to have her coming to see our pack. She seemed stunned that I called it our pack. It was our pack. A handful of people knew for certain that was the case, but it was. This was our pack, and one day she would rule it with me by my side. As soon as we arrived Susie was running to the car. I spotted my dad. I linked him, “Get out of here.” My dad sighed and left. I grabbed Lexi’s bag and took it to my room. I’d cleared out several drawers for her, and over half the space in my closet. I’d slowly get her leaving things here to fill everything up. I had just put everything away when Matt came in. “Come talk to your dad before he loses his damn mind.” I said, “No, but thanks.” Matt said, “Lexi took Susie outside to play with the other kids. They are splitting up into teams for capture the flag.” I sighed, “And?” Matt gave me a look. I said, “Nadine would be a better choice than me unless he’s looking for some tough love.” Matt said, “Nadine is keeping him from yanking Susie back inside.” I growled, “Oh for f**k’s sake. Where is he?” Matt smiled, “My parents’ house. My mom has her wooden spoon out. I think she’s contemplating beating your father with it.” I laughed, “I wish she would.”          We walked outside and I briefly paused to watch Lexi. Susie was quite the planner. I smiled. She was so smart. I wanted to see Lexi with our pups. I could see everyone watching them. Curious about both Susie and Lexi. Matt linked me, “Yes, she’s a good Luna. Yes, you will have cute pups. Move it. My mom is NOT happy. When my mom is NOT happy, we ALL get shouty angry links until she’s happy again.” I snorted, “How did you know I was thinking about pups?” Matt said, “I grew up with you. MOVE IT!” I rolled my eyes and walked into the home of our former Beta. Nadine was saying, “She’s fine Frank. She’s having fun.” My dad was pacing, “She’s exposed out in the open like this. She’s played with the kids. Let’s get her inside now.” I said, “She’s in the heart of our territory. I know you know the odds of any of those pups being attacked before they could get inside to a safe room is less than one percent.” My dad whirled, “So you’re talking to me now.” I said, “I have a pack member who’s upset.” My dad snorted, “I’m your father.” I said, “I wasn’t talking about you. Isabella, I am sorry for this disturbance.” I turned back to my dad, “Susie is fine. In fact if you weren’t paying attention she’s doing very well. She’s quite tactical. She’s having fun. Like she should be.” My dad said, “They were supposed to play inside.” I said, “It’s a beautiful day. Why shouldn’t they be outside? Do you even care that Susie is having a blast?” My dad ran a hand through his hair. He looked defeated, “Of course I care.” I said, “Dad, she’s not on the borders or near where a rogue would be. She’s having fun. Just look at her. Don’t you see how much fun she’s having?” My dad sighed, “You’re right.” I nodded and turned to leave. My dad asked, “Are you ever going to talk to me again?” I said, “Are you ever going to apologize?” Isabella was trying to hide her smirk. My dad said, “I want what’s best for you Chase.” I said, “Wow. Not even close to an apology. I’m twenty-two years old dad.” My dad said, “Plenty of my friends are grandparents. Lots of Alpha’s have children at eighteen with their mate. You could find her. You aren’t even trying.” I said, “You don’t know anything. Besides, that’s not the point.”         My dad snorted, “Chase she reeks of you. I could smell her and your scents all over each other from where I was this morning.” I said, “Worst apology ever.” My dad growled, “I’m trying to help you.” I said, “You aren’t. I’m an adult. Accept that and move on.” My dad said, “Do you even care that you’ll hurt her. She loves you Chase. I saw that in her eyes. You may even love her. I think you do. It’s going to hurt both of you in the end Chase. You’ll meet your mate, and you’ll just know. Nothing else matters.” Nadine rolled her eyes. Isabella actually laughed. Isaac looked up at the ceiling. I said, “Ok, I’m leaving. While your here maybe look up what the word apology means. It’s not explaining why your actions are justified. Because they aren’t. Your actions, no matter the reason are unjustifiable. Ask LITERALLY anyone here. I’m a grown man. My mistakes, which Lexi is not one of to be clear, are my own. It’s my life I get to choose how things go.” My dad stepped back, “Do you mean to reject your mate for this girl Chase?” I said, “I’m not here to explain things to you. I was here to make sure you didn’t go try to force Susie inside and embarrass her and further alienate yourself from her. She misses you. Your best shot at forgiveness with her is after Lexi leaves today. Susie will know Lexi is still truly her friend. Don’t f**k it up.” Nadine did a slow clap, “I couldn’t have said it better myself.             Just then we all heard all the kids screaming at Susie and Lexi to run. We all looked outside to see Susie running for all she was worth with the other team’s flag in her hand. Lexi was by her side. Susie had the biggest grin on her face. Lexi wasn’t helping her run faster, and Susie was outrunning the other kids. I said, “It’s her Alpha blood.” Nadine laughed, “Double Alpha blood.” Isabella dropped her glass. I had to laugh. It wasn’t well known that Nadine had Alpha blood in her. Her mother was the third child of a pack in Kentucky. Her grandfather and now uncle was the Alpha down there. Her mother’s mate was a Gamma of one of our allies. Nadine had Gamma and Alpha blood running through her. Susie was one powerful little wolf. Susie and Lexi made it to their team. No one got close to catching either of them. Susie’s team surrounded her. My dad actually wiped a tear from his eyes watching them hoist Susie up on their shoulders. I’d never seen my sister this happy. Her cheeks were flushed from running, but she was holding the flag up as her team chanted her name. She turned and saw us all watching. She blew us a kiss. Eventually the kids set her down and started playing a new game. My dad hugged Nadine, “She’s such a beauty. I’ve never seen her run. She’s a fast little bugger.” Nadine smiled and kissed his cheek, “She’s special. Our little girl.” My dad said, “We could always have another. It could loosen me up. You never know.” I choked, “Goodbye.” My dad laughed, “Watch it Chase! You and your brother don’t give me a grandchild soon, I’ll have another one with Nadine.” I said, “Ew. Bye dad.” I could all of them laughing at me as I left.
