Worried Pt. 3

        Reagan said, “We are coming as Sandy and Danny from Grease.” I laughed. It was Reagan’s favorite movie, “Should’ve guessed that.” Reagan said, “At least you can admit it.” Matt said, “You need to get ready Chase.” I sighed. “Fine.” I grabbed my costume from Ted. “Thank you, Ted.” Ted nodded, “Go kick ass. Lex will be ok.” He was assuring himself as much as he was assuring me. I rushed through getting ready. Kevin and Kincade along with another warrior were dressed as the three musketeers. We got into my car and drove to Alpha Lyons territory. Bolt spoke, “She has to be ok Chase.” I linked, “I know she can handle the mission. I worry about old marks popping up.” Bolt said, “I do too.” I said, “Can you tell where she is?” Bolt said, “No. If you would mark her...I could help you.” I rolled my eyes, “You need to learn new words.” Bolt snorted. My thoughts swirled around Lexi. I got out of the car distractedly. I heard Sophia, “Chase!” I turned. She was here with Alfred. They were dressed as Salt and Pepper. She looped her arm with mine, “Let’s walk in together.” I removed my arm from hers, “Sure. Let’s go.” She frowned but we walked in side by side. The venue was beautiful. We were led outside. We sat down. Everyone stared at each other in shock when Alpha Eric told Beta James not to Haley. Cameron linked me, “Would he really be that stupid?” I said, “Alpha Eric seems to think so.” Beta Dylan walked into and stood. He was dressed as Mario. Alpha Eric was Thor. The wedding procession walked down to the Addams family. This was the most Beta Dylan wedding ever. I gaped when Haley and Emmaline walked in. Cameron linked me, “Their poor mates.” They were both in revealing outfits. I had no idea who Haley was. I knew she wasn’t Jane. Luna Emmaline… was Tinkerbelle. Which was hilarious. Alpha Lyons looked like he wanted to pounce on her. I wondered what Lexi would’ve come as.

        The ceremony was short, sweet and to the point. We all filed inside as the bridal party stayed behind. I joined Reagan and Cameron. Sophia and Alfred joined me. Sophia said, “Where’s Beta Matt?” I said, “Making sure nothing happens at my pack tonight. Same place your Gamma is.” Sophia said, “Someone’s testy. You ok?” I said, “No, thank you for asking.” Sophia frowned but before she said anything, we watched Haley and Eric’s kids pop in. We all turned in shock as we heard a pop followed by Beta James finding his mate. “f**k me.” Cameron said when the fairy introduced herself. It was a full blooded fairy. “Best of luck to Beta James with that.” I said. She was Emmaline’s half sister. So a Royal fairy. “Alpha Theo will be happy.” Sophia said. We gaped at their conversation. Reagan cleared her throat, “Babies? Their kids found their mates?” I focused on the kids. Then took a step back. I linked my brother, “Cameron…. I sense their kid’s wolves.” Cameron looked at me startled. His eyes grew wide as he linked back, “So do I.” They walked inside. Haley and Eric split off with their kids. I walked over to Dylan. “Congratulations Beta Dylan and Lacy.” Both smiled, “Thanks Alpha Chase.” Dylan said, “Did you do as Yoda Dylan told you Alpha Chase?” I rolled my eyes, “Please don’t start talking like Yoda again.”

        Dylan grinned far too wide, “Do as Dylan said, did you?” Lacy slapped him, “Leave him alone.” Dylan said, “Leave alone, cannot. Must have answers Dylan must.” Cameron laughed. Dylan appraised me, “Did as Dylan advised Alpha Chase did. Satisfied is Dylan.” Lacy pulled Dylan away. Cameron said, “What did he tell you to do?” I said, “Find Haley’s party planner. He said it would be the one with the hard to pin down schedule.” Cameron snorted, “He was right.” I said, “I know.” Sophia said, “What was that about?” I said, “It’s between Beta Dylan and I.” Sophia sighed, “Ok.” The food started getting served. I was about to take a bite when I heard the princess talking about the horrible smell. I frowned. I didn’t smell anything. I sniffed it. I linked Cameron, “It smells fine.” Cameron said, “Let’s just wait a beat.” Alfred was about to eat it anyway when I knocked it out of his hand. Sophia linked me, “It smells fine.” I said, “Let’s just wait.” I groaned when Dylan said Haley faxed them a list. I linked Cameron, “She doesn’t know what a fax is. She didn’t even know about google or Pinterest. There is no damn way she knows what a f*****g fax is.” Cameron said, “I seriously doubt it.” Alpha Eric and Haley’s child growled. I wanted to laugh. It was the most adorable little growl. A golden dome surrounded the future Luna of Red Run, Chelsea Hanes. The glass that had been in her hand flew across the room. As soon as it hit the ground, we all smelled the silver and wolfsbane. Everyone growled. I linked Kincade and Kevin, “Get ready. The battle is starting.” They both nodded.

        The waiter near Chelsea Hanes went to the ground holding his head and screaming. Alpha Eric was appealing to his child to let the man go. The baby did that? Good thing we are allies. I saw a few waiters trying to flee. I linked Cameron, “Get them!” We took off. Reagan grabbed a few. Sophia had gone the other way with Alfred. We’d rounded them all up before they could leave. Alpha Hammond truly had lost it. He was going to kill Chelsea Hanes’ child to get her. We all knew there was a bounty on her, but to harm an unborn pup? He was done for. Eric’s son growled and the man started screaming. Alpha Eric shrugged in a what can I say gesture before the man’s head actually exploded. One of the men I had said, “Goddess help us all.” I said, “The goddess turned her back on you crazy f***s when you walked in here to take a pregnant, she wolf.” The man smirked, “She wasn’t going to be pregnant when we took her. Peter Kyle appeared in front of me. He grabbed the man by the neck, “That’s my mate and pup!” He snapped his neck and ran back to Chelsea. I dropped the body. Haley cleaned everyone up who was in the head exploding spatter. She convinced EJ to pop out with Chelsea and Elise. I guess Peter Kyle was having a daughter. Who was clearly EJ’s mate. It was confirmed he was. Haley convinced him to pop out to safety. He was gone when the waiters by Haley went down screaming. Haley just sighed. And yelled at them for being jerks making it harder to parent. Apparently, Alexander was mad on his brother’s behalf.

        Cameron linked, “Holy shit.” I said, “I know.” Alexander wasn’t as mad as his brother. He was into killing his group much slower. Their brain matter was literally coming out of their noses.” Thank god Dylan had all our backs. It was still hilarious he called Alpha Eric Alpha Prick and managed to live. He wanted to clarify the children had exploded the people’s heads. As if there was another explanation. Alpha Lyons confirmed it. Dylan ranted. Everyone was trying not to laugh. Alpha Eric did have a lot going for him. Peter Kyle was shaken. He thanked Eric and told him he owed him. No one agreed. Eric said his son protected his mate. He pointed out none of us smelled it. The witches hadn’t counted on their fairy senses. That’s what saved all our asses. I linked Matt, “Anything going on?” Matt said, “The kids are having a great time.” I sighed in relief. Alpha Conners linked me, “Battle going on at Cameron’s. My extra men have been engaged. It appears the hood is fighting with us as well.” I linked, “Ted said they would do this to protect our border and make sure my brother didn’t fall.” I linked Cameron, “Fighting happening.” Cameron was tense. “I know. I have to go.” I said, “You wouldn't make it alone. We are likely surrounded.” I focused. “We are surrounded.” Cameron growled lowly. Luna Emmaline gagged smelling the food. It was interesting because they didn’t have enhanced senses of smell, but they could still get it.  Beta James and his mate popped in. He tensed. She astutely pointed out they missed something. 

        Haley popped everyone who was pregnant to the Hackura realm. Reagan cursed, “God Damn it! I should’ve had her send me into heat when she healed me. I could’ve gone to the Hackura realm. UGH!” I laughed, “Hindsight.” Reagan pouted. Haley popped back with Astrid. Bjourn’s mate. He smiled when he saw her. He knew she’d come back with Haley. They told each other not to get hurt. Reagan and Cameron told each other the same. Sophia cleared her throat. I turned. She offered me a small smile, “Be safe Chase.” I smiled at her, “You too. Stay by Alfred.” She said, “I wish you’d bought Matt.” I said, “I needed him with Susie just in case.” She nodded, “I understand. Always wished I had a sibling.” Cameron said, “Chase will stay by me.” I said, “As will Sophia and Alfred. We stick together. Like we always do.” Sophia smiled, “I’ve got your back Chase.” I nodded. I knew she would. Luna Emmaline said an illusion was starting. What? I looked outside and gaped. “Didn’t we just see Beta Lacy popped to the Hackura realm?” Cameron said, “We did.” Bolt howled in my head. I said, “Bolt?” Bolt said, “Mate was near for a second. She’s already far away.” I sighed in relief, “Maybe she’s home now.” Bolt said, “Or going to another fight.” Sophia tensed. “Sophia?” I asked. She said, “My pack is being attacked. They swear the hood is helping.” I linked Matt, “Send warriors to our border with Sophia now!” Matt linked, “They are on the way.” I said, “Stay with the kids.” Matt growled, “Fine!” I spoke out loud, “I have warriors on the way to assist.” She nodded. 

        The not Lacy started screaming for help. She was screaming. Begging for help. It was an effort for me to stay. My Alpha blood demanded I go protect the she wolf screaming begging for her mate and her dad’s help. The fairy’s realized Lacy was part of the plan. They thought she was outside. Beta Dylan was irate. He was fighting against Lucas. A few of their pack was moving towards the exits. I grabbed one, “It’s not her. You stay here until your Alpha says otherwise.” He pushed me, “f**k you! That’s MY Beta Female! I need to protect her!” I said, “You saw your Beta Female get popped to the Hackura realm. How could she get back?” The guy searched my eyes. He sighed, “She’s my friend.” I said, “And she’s safe and fine. That’s a witch’s trick. Stay inside.” He nodded and stood down. Beta James fairy teased Haley. She accurately described Alpha Eric to Haley. Haley simply stuck out her tongue saying he’d never hurt her. That was true. I’m pretty sure he’d cut off his own hand before he hurt her. Light shot around the area and the girl outside yelling stopped sounding like Lacy Frost. We could see her. She was shocked. She took off running. She was quickly overwhelmed by Alpha Lyons warriors. She was dead. Alpha Hammond yelled at Alpha Lyons. Cameron growled, “That fucker is dead.” I was keeping an eye on Haley. I promised. I could see her evaluating me herself. I smiled at her. She pulled Alpha Eric over to us. She said, “Don’t you dare get hurt. If I have to heal you...I’ll kick your ass later.” I nodded, “I’ll do my best. You stay safe too.” She snorted, “I’ll be fine.” Alpha Eric kissed her. We all walked outside.

        Alpha Eric linked me, “Stay in a circle formation. You and your group take the east side.” I nodded, “We will.” We spread out. Luna Emmaline tried to talk Alpha Hammond down. Cameron linked me, “NOT happening. He’s gone.” I agreed. He was clearly crazed. I felt bad for him when I realized he was actually painted over losing his mate. Briefly you could see the love on his face when her name was mentioned. He narrowed on Haley. I closed my eyes. He wanted to kill her. Several wolves near us set their sights on her. I linked Cameron, “I promised Lexi I’d watch out for Haley.” Cameron said, “I wish you luck with that. I’d guess Alpha Conners men have the same marching orders.” Alpha Kyle linked, “We got men coming up behind us.” Alpha Conners linked, “Our men are following them. We will be victorious. They die here. This is the end of this shit.” We all bristled at his tone. We’d heard it before. He was about to slaughter anyone who got within twenty feet of him. I noticed several witches leave. Cameron said, “I wonder if they are really getting away.” I looked at Alpha Eric and Alpha Lyons. I linked back, “I doubt it.” The witches began to fight our warlocks. I checked behind me. The fairies were in the middle of our circle. I shifted and took down three rogues before I paid attention to what Haley and Emmaline were discussing. Oh f**k. I linked Cameron, “They are going to pop out and take on Hammond alone. I’ve got to get to them.” Cameron said, “If you can touch them, you’ll pop out with them. GO!” I turned and pushed Bolt. I needed to keep her safe for Lexi. Or at very least fight beside her. I linked Alpha Conners, “THEY ARE GOING TO POP!” He whirled. I shifted back and shouted at them to wait. Haley winked at me. I dove. I missed them by a second. I shifted. 

        Alpha Conners linked me, “Good try.” He sounded murderous. I went back to my line. I was taking out rogues left and right. I kept an eye on Haley. She was…. a literal force of nature. I felt bad for Lexi if she’d been tasked to keep Haley safe on a mission. The woman did what she wanted. A Hackura guard stepped out and cut down two wolves. He smiled at me. I recognized him from that time in my office. He took off. He was going to the girls. Thank god for that. I saw a kid and witch jump into a holo port. f**k! Haley screamed she hated witches. Honestly…. Same. They’d become a giant pain in my ass lately. Alpha Hammond shifted. All of us paused for a second. He was turning rabid. He really was losing it. Luna Emmaline was… somehow drawing Alpha Hammond. We all gaped in shock as she announced the warlocks fighting on our side were her brother. Cameron’s said, “THAT’S EVELYN FORRESTER? HOLY s**t!” I said, “David Forrester’s wife cheated. You just have to love Karma. Dylan shifted back. He spoke, “No one will repeat my Luna’s birth name, or I’ll have to kill you. It’s like fight club. WE DON’T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!” Cameron rolled his eyes, “I thought he was going to be serious there for a second.” I said, “I think he’s very serious.” 

        Haley Conners snapped before she popped out. We were all back in our costumes. I linked Eric and Alpha Lyons letting them know I did try to stop the girls. Eric said you can’t really stop them, but he seemed to appreciate the effort. He shot me a look. I refused to give anything away. I knew that look though. He knew but he wasn’t going to say anything. Cameron said, “He one hundred and twenty percent knows you’ve met Lexi.” I said, “Maybe.” Cameron said, “No maybe about it.” Alpha Eric had Haley pop his people home the second she popped back. Alpha Eric nodded to me, and then their group was gone. Alpha Lyons took off with his Luna. Dylan grumbled, “It’s only my wedding. Why shouldn’t I coordinate efforts?” I said, “I’ll do it. I need a distraction.” Dylan said, “Bless you Alpha Chase. I don’t care what anyone says about you, you're the best. I’ll tell ALL the partial fairy’s I know. Alpha Chase is a Prince among wolves.” I snorted. Dylan took off running. Dale said, “I’ve been tasked with the chore of it all, Alpha Chase. You are free to go. Our pack can handle clean up. We appreciate all your efforts.” He nodded to me. I linked Matt, “All good?” He didn’t answer. I started toward Cameron’s border when Matt linked, “Chase…. Is everything over?” I stopped. Cameron and Reagan did too. I linked, “Yes Matt. Hammond is dead. We won. What happened? Is Susie ok?” Matt said, “She’s fine. It’s your dad. He was running a patrol…. he found a hood member… they were attacked. He called my dad. Jenna and I went with him… We got attacked too.” I said, “Matt, is my dad ok?” Matt said, “We can’t find him. Nadine can still feel him though. He’s alive. He’s in pain, but alive.” I froze, “Did they take him? Send out search parties? PICK UP HIS SCENT NOW! I’m on the way!” I turned to Cameron, “Dad’s missing. He went out to the damn border alone. We got attached too. Hood members were at my pack too.” Cameron looked torn. I said, “I’ll find him. Go secure your pack.” Cameron said, “He’s my dad too.” I said, “He’s my pack member. Your pack needs to see their Alpha and Luna. I’ve got this. GO!”
