Fairy Visit Pt. 4

Matt and I did some paperwork once we made it back to my office. We both got distracted watching the kids. Susie’s laughter was infections among the children. When I saw Lexi and Susie heading inside, I linked Kevin, “Get Lexi upstairs to my room. I’ll be waiting.” Kevin linked back, “Yes, Alpha. The kids had a lot of fun. Whispers of her being our Luna are out.” I said, “Nothing will be confirmed.” Kevin said, “Whatever you say. Your actions towards her confirm it.” I said, “Until announced it’s a rumor. Besides, our pack knows better than to run the rumor mill outside our pack.” Kevin replied, “That’s true.” Matt handed me the last bit of paperwork. I finished and ran upstairs. I opened my door and saw the trail of Lexi’s clothes. I could hear the shower going. I smirked. She’d smell even more like me before this event if I had anything to say about it. I took her in the shower after discussing having pups. I couldn’t let her get away after that conversation without taking her twice. I’d have as many pups with her as she wanted. We could fill up the whole house. I’d give her everything. Lexi wasn’t ready for kids, and that was fine. I was onboard with having her to myself for a few years. I brought Lexi her outfit and waited in our room. I was going to call it that until it was true. Lexi came in out in a dress that hugged all her curves. He boobs begged me to play with them. Vampires were going to want what was mine. Lexi said she was mine and that she had to smell like me. I tried not to laugh. My scent was practically wafted from her at this point. I led her downstairs. Nadine commented on how beautiful she looked. I begrudgingly led her to her car. I linked Kincade and Kevin, “I know you can’t stop anyone from touching her tonight. I believe King Arthur will. Just make sure she comes back to me safely.” Kincade replied, “Yes Alpha.”         I watched Lexi leave. She waved to someone and I turned. It was my dad. I nodded to him and walked back into the house. Nadine said, “She’s your mate. Isn’t she?” I said, “I’m not going to answer that.” Nadine smiled, “That Chase, is an answer in and of itself. She’s beautiful. She’ll be an amazing Luna.” I smiled and walked away. My phone started to ring. It was Cameron calling. He asked me, “Can you meet me at our border?” I said, “Of course.” I hung up and nodded to Matt. I shifted. I ran to my border with Cameron. He was already there with shorts. I shifted and he threw them to me. We both sat down, “I’m pissed at you.” He told me. I said, “I know.” Cameron said, “You didn’t have to challenge him.” I sighed, “I did.” Cameron said, “f**k it Chase. You lost your temper because of this whole Lexi thing. You’re ready to blow because you haven’t marked her and brought her home. Just tell her the situation. Bring her home.” I said, “Cameron, this was about more than Lexi. He’s pulling men from details. He practically spat on our mother’s grave. He’s held Susie back far too long. It’s time to kick his ass out of his scared little shell. It doesn't suit him. He’s an Alpha and he needs to act like it. He undermined me by taking my men without me knowing, haggling for more guards at the school for Susie. He second guesses me all over the place. I couldn’t let it continue before I lost control of the pack. Or before I had to take some punk young warrior to task because I let our dad step on me. You know it would’ve happened. I could’ve seriously injured a warrior. With Dad… Bolt nor I wanted to seriously hurt him. Just put him in his place.” Cameron sighed, “Can you make less valid points? I want to be mad at you. “I laughed, “No.” Cameron slugged me in the shoulder. “You didn’t have to throw him out the glass door.” I laughed, “That I didn’t have to do. He pissed me off though. He wasn’t listening to me. I kept replying Lexi crying saying he hates her, and how she wanted my parents to like her because hers are gone.”          Cameron said, “Yeah, Reagan has been saying all week I’d do the same. She’s right.” I nodded. I said, “It was brought up we could be Alpha’s like the Conners brothers are. We could build new pack houses between our territories. We could build a bigger main house. You’d still have your pack, and I’d have mine.” Cameron said, “I’ll think about it. I miss you a lot Chase.” I smiled, “I’m never too far away little brother. Even if you want to remain your own pack.” Cameron smiled, “Same goes.” I smiled, “I know.” It was midnight by the time we left. I ran to Lexi’s house. I fell asleep as soon as I hit her pillow. Matt woke me up, “Dear god please… tell me Lexi is with you.” I startled awake. I felt her side of the bed. It was cold. I looked all over the house even though I knew she wasn’t there. I linked Kevin and Kincade, “Where’s Lexi?” The linked back, “With Ted.” I frowned, “Matt, Kevin and Kincade say she’s with Ted.” Matt said, “f**k! Ted says she’s with you.” I growled and shifted running to Ted’s house. I shifted back yelling, “WHERE IS SHE?” I got in Kincade's face. He was confused, “With Beta Male Ted.” I punched him. “HE’S STANDING RIGHT HERE! KEVIN?” Kevin was also confused, “Alpha… we swear she’s with him.” I hit him too. Cameron came running up and pushed me away from them. “Chase, we don’t know what’s going on.” I said, “SHE’S MISSING! They were supposed to protect her.” Shots rang out in the distance. We all froze. Ted started to sob. I said, “Can Lexi use a gun?” Ted said nothing. I yelled, “TED! Can Lexi use a gun?” Ted said, “Yes, but it’s not her weapon of choice.” More shots rang out. Ted fell to his knees sobbing. I went at Kevin and Kincade. Cameron and Matt got in my way.          Cameron said, “Chase stop it! I’ll call dad. So help me Chase. CALM DOWN!” I growled, “He can’t stop me! I proved that! She could need my help, and I don’t f*****g know because I haven’t f*****g marked her!” Matt said, “Alpha Conners is aware of the situation, gunshots were fired. Beta Caleb just texted. Haley already popped out. She’s probably there with Lexi.  IF it’s Lexi. We don’t even know if this is Lexi.” Cameron said, “What did you tell Beta Caleb?” Matt said, “That Ted just got home. We were walking inside and heard shots from his territory. Lexi left after him and he was worried.” I said, “If they don’t find her, I want men out searching for her. I don’t care whose territory we go into. I’ll tell every goddamn wolf who she is to me. I WANT HER BACK!” Cameron said, “We will find her Chase.” I said, “Will we? I haven’t even marked her. I have no bond to find her with! f**k!” Matt had gone to console Ted. Time ceased to have meaning. Was my sweetheart out there? Shot...Was she wondering where I was? I couldn’t stay here. I spoke, “I have to go.” Cameron said, “Chase…” I said, “SHE COULD BE SHOT! She could be wondering where I am! She could think I don’t love her because I’m not with her! She’s my whole damn world! I have to find her! She NEEDS TO KNOW!” Lexi’s voice filtered to us asking what was happening. I couldn’t move at first. I turned to see her standing there. Relief hit me so hard as I practically drank her appearance in. She had some dirt on her shoulder, and she smelled like gasoline mixed with vampires combined with a bit of Haley. Her hair was windblown, but she was standing there in front of us. Ted ran to her first. Matt linked me, “She’s here. She’s ok.” That got me moving. She was ok. I took her from Ted and buried my face in her neck. I have never had more problems controlling Bolt. Both of us wanted to mark her. So this couldn’t happen again. We’d know if she was in danger if we just marked her.          Lexi explained what happened. Some other past mark had come up. Ted was surprised. It seems this was a mark from a few years ago. Lexi shoved that off and told me she thought I’d be at her house. As if I could be at her house without her being home, shots fired, and her location as unknown. She ordered Kevin and Kincade to go home. I linked them, “Go home get some sleep. I am sorry.” They linked back, “We are sorry too.” I said, “Witches.” I didn’t know I was crying until Lexi wiped my tears away. I was shaken. The thought of her getting shot...my entire being recoiled. Lexi invited Cameron to stay the night in her house. I linked him, “She’s got a spare room.” Matt linked me, “Ted is shocked she’s offering says she’s very protective of her space. That you both should be honored.” I nodded. Cameron declined. He linked me, “I need to hold Reagan after this. Hits too close to home.” I asked him, “How did you know to come? That I needed you?” Cameron smiled, “Matt texted me.” I snorted. I waved to him and linked Matt, “Thank you for texting Cameron to come.” Matt said, “I can’t keep you from killing people by myself when Lexi is involved. If he was missing, we’d need him to help find her anyway.” We all left. Lexi asked me to carry her back to our place. Like she could stop me. I set her down in the bathroom. She got ready on autopilot. She was in a bit of shock but didn’t seem to realize it. I noticed she’d texted her brother they needed to talk. I needed to talk to her damn brother. He needed to get his damn house in order. He needed to plug this damn leak. I unzipped Lexi out of her dress. She grabbed my hoodie off the floor and put it on. I carried her to the bed. She was dead on her feet. She mumbled, “I love you Chase. No punching my guards anymore though.” I laughed. I couldn’t promise. She fell asleep. She was out of the count.          I grabbed her phone and got her brother’s number out of it. He’d already texted her back. I didn’t read the message, but he responded so that told me he was awake. I stepped outside her bedroom door. I wasn’t going to go any further away from her than this. I knew I wasn’t going to wake her up. She was down for the count, but I couldn’t let her leave my eyesight. I called Heath’s number from my phone, “Hello, who is this?” Heath answered. I said, “I’m surprised you don’t have my number.” Heath said, “You are?” I didn’t know if Heath knew that I knew he was the Hood, but I was going to play this game as if I didn’t. I said, “You know very well who I am. I have a message for your leader, Heath Scott. The Hood came to see me. He told me to protect Lexi. I have f*****g bulletin for him.” Heath said, “Oh? What’s that?” I said, “Tell him to get his DAMN house in order. This f*****g leak has gotten on my last good nerve. If ONE more past mark shows up for Lexi… I’ll hunt the Hood down myself and punch him in the f*****g face.” Heath was quiet, “What happened?” I said, “ASK HIM! He seems to know everything going on.” Heath said, “He’s not here at the moment. Enlighten me.” I said, “Someone named Bobby showed up. I’m sure Haley Conners has killed Bobby by now, but he was using witches. His men spelled my men and a hood member away from her. They had to of damaged her car. SHE WAS SHOT AT!” I hissed at him. All while watching Lexi’s chest rise and fall.” Heath said, “I assume my sister is fine, or you would’ve started with her being hurt. You also mentioned Haley was involved. Haley would never let my sister leave her presence unhealed.” I said, “Lexi is fine. She’s in shock. This is the third past mark that’s come now. Mind you, I’ve killed all of them except this last one.” Heath said, “So Alpha Kyle did not kill Henrick?” I said, “No, but you knew that too. Didn’t you?” Heath said, “I did. I knew that you killed him once I looked into Alpha Kyle saying he’d killed Henrick.” I said, “How about we cut the s**t then? Tell your leader to a better job protecting Lexi so I can. Plug your damn leak.” Heath said, “It’s Noah. He knows all the missions she’s ever had.” I said, “Well there’s a novel thought. Really… I mean even I knew it was Noah after the FIRST guy! KILL HIM ALREADY!”          Heath said, “We are trying to find him.” I said, “Try harder.” Heath said, “Watch it, married man.” I said, “Your leader can get away that Heath, but Ted talks a lot. You won’t hurt Lexi. You’d hurt yourself first. I’m doing what I can to protect her, but I don’t have all the information.” Heath said, “If you brought her to your side you could protect her better.” That hurt because it was true. “Yes, I could. I would in a heartbeat if that’s what she wanted. She doesn’t want to be by my side until Sophia’s petty ass gives me my annulment. She may not know that, but she doesn’t want to know about my situation as she calls it. I need Sophia’s stupid Gamma to tell me about her Beta’s father. Any chance you have that answer? Did Beta Alfred Sr. have anything to do with this coup attempt?” Heath said, “I suspect he did. I do not have proof. Which is why Sophia has no proof. I’d have given it to her if I did.” I groaned, “One stupid answer holds everything up.” Heath was quiet. I said, “Do you know anything else?” Heath snorted, “I know a lot of things.” I said, “About Sophia.” Heath said, “I know a lot about her too. For Example, her dad told her to keep control of their pack by any means necessary before he died. Strange how he died.” I said, “He got sick.” Heath said, “Yes, that’s what is strange. How many sick wolves do you know, Alpha Chase?” I opened my mouth and shut it several times. “Are you saying Sophia’s dad was murdered?” Heath said, “Yes.” I gaped, “Does she know?” Heath said, “I do not believe so.” I said, “Do you know who did it?” Heath said, “I am working on it. Several of those involved have died by my hand. They caused chaos for me. I do not like chaos. The main person behind it… I have not managed to pin that down.” I was reeling. To kill and Alpha… that was a serious offense.         Wait. “How do you know what her father said to her before he died?” I asked him. Heath said, “I told you. I know a lot of things. I do not think her father meant to scare her into thinking she needed to hide her true self or behind a man. I think he intended for her to fight. She took his words another way when older members of the pack told her they wouldn’t accept her.” I said, “Did you know all this then? We could’ve gone to the council if her father was murdered. That is a grave offense.” Heath said, “No, I started looking into this three years ago.” I frowned. Why would he care then? If it wasn’t about the territory his shroud was in. Why did he care? I shook myself. I didn’t have time for these problems. “Whatever. Point is. Stop your leak.” Heath ignored me, “Do you know why my sister needs to talk to me?” I said, “No. As I said, she was in shock. She was also dead on her feet. She’s sleeping.” Heath was quiet, “Then we will find out later. I’ll do my best to keep her safe. She means the world to me Chase Daniels. See that you don’t let my world get hurt, or you’ll deal with me. I have lost a lot in my life. I am not willing to lose anymore. Especially not her.” I growled, “I will not lose her. Don’t even say that! SHE IS MINE!” Heath said, “Be sure you keep her close. From what I have learned…. Noah will stop at nothing to get her back.” I asked, “What exactly have you learned? And dear god WHY did you not know what happened between them all these years?”         Heath said, “I respected their privacy. I should’ve known better. Lexi had such an extreme reaction to their breakup. I should’ve known better. I’ve been digging. I found that Noah had journals about her. He feels she belongs to him. Something about what was always meant to be. His uncle showed him the truth. It’s ramblings of a crazy person.” I sighed, “Who is his uncle?” Heath sighed, “That’s the thing. He doesn’t have one. There are no records of siblings for his mother or father. Both claim to have no siblings.” I said, “So someone has gotten to him… by pretending to be his uncle? Why would he believe them?” Heath said, “Or one of his parents or both are lying, and records have been altered to align with their story. These are hood records and they both had access to alter them.” I said, “Why would they do that?” Heath said, “To protect their family. One thing I am sure of is…. Noah’s brother doesn’t know his uncle, should he be real. His confusion could not be faked.” I sighed, “This gets more complicated by the minute.” Heath snorted, “You have no idea how damn complicated this is. On so many levels.” I said, “I don’t even have the energy to contemplate that. Pass my message along.” Heath laughed, “Consider it passed.” I said, “Good.” I hung up the phone and climbed into bed with Lexi, “I’ll protect you Sweetheart. I promise.” I pulled her close to me and fell asleep.
