Scarlett's POV
Lauren was waiting outside the break room this time.
Same crossed arms as last time. Different level of serious.
I pushed the door open and she followed me in.
"Someone called the hospital this morning," she said. "Asked for you by name. Not a patient. Not a family member."
"What kind of questions?"
"Background." She held my gaze. "Name history. Where you trained. Where you were before St. Marie Memorial." A pause. "Your previous identity."
The break room was very quiet.
"He used that phrase?" I said. "Previous identity."
"He said it like it was routine," Lauren said. "Like he was reading from a list. I told him Dr. Fox was unavailable and took a number. He left one."
"Did he give a name?" I asked.
"Ray Coulter." She watched my face. "You know it."
"No," I said.
