The Vegans gathered in a loading zone in the basement of the Nutrizeen Labs. The walls were green. Hovercycles were lined up in rows all across the area.
“Looks like Kendall was an asset after all,” Frank said.
Celerity looked around. “Brocc, I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
“What are you talking about?” Brocc asked.
“Something’s not right,” she said. “This is too easy.”
Brocc erupted in anger.
“Cheesus, Celerity. What do you want to do now, abandon the plan? Why the hell didn’t you say anything earlier?”
“I didn’t have this feeling earlier,” Celerity snapped.
Brocc started for a door. “We’re not turning back. You can go if you want.”
“Why would you even say that?” Celerity said. “You and I are in this together, you know that.”
