I stand at the top of the spiral staircase, looking down at the massive pool that leads out to the sea. Triton brought me into the Pool Room. I was confused at first; I had no idea why the palace would have a salt pool.
Why would they need one when the ocean is right outside the window?
Triton laughed and told me that he and his family sometimes prefer to relax here rather than out in the ocean. Whatever, it’s up to them. Of course, I was then curious about why he brought me here. Triton told me it was time for me to become one with the sea, and the pool would be the best place to practice. Triton didn’t want to throw me in at the deep end, as it were, and the sea may have overwhelmed me.
I must admit, this room is lovely. It’s massive and looks like it could house a hundred people
