38 - Gabe POV

1361 Words
Uhhhhh.... this flight is taking forever. I grumble in my thoughts as I stare out the window, watching as the cool blue waters shimmer beneath my prison. It, apparently, took a while for them to find me a spot at this therapy unit my dear sweet Abby (Ekk!) had found for me. That traitor just wanted me as far away from her precious little wolf pack. How dare she send me away after what my love tried to do for her? Xavier... I could feel my eyes prickle with tears, like they always did when I thought of him. The prison wardens the last few weeks have starved me and kept me in darkness, but they didn't need any form of torture. My ultimate torture was relieving my beloved mate, dying in front of my eyes again and again in my dreams. If it wasn't for that Colt, then Xavier would be here, and all of White Crescent would be burning in hell. I would have had to try and convince Xavier to have Abby imprisoned for the trouble she has caused, even if he wanted to use her as our surrogate. I would have opposed that idea had I known what kind of person she really was. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now making our descent. Please fasten your seatbelt..." I zone out as the flight attendance makes their announcement. It's the same old sh*t every time. I had two guards accompanying me on this journey. Both had put me in the window seat so that I was well and truly pressed up against the window. It wasn't long before we had landed and were taxiing down the runway to our terminal. "No funny business." The guard closest to me threatens as he takes a hold of my cuffed hands. I just give him a rueful smile as we wait for everyone to disembark first. Leaving the plane, one guard is pulling me by my handcuffs whilst the other tails us. "Do you know where we are to meet the therapists?" The one behind asks. "They said they would have a sign held up for us." "Sounds like you two should have found out more information before we arrived." THWACK! My little remark earned me a smack round the back of my head by the guard behind me. "You just be quiet." We got a clear pass through security and baggage claims before we walked to the front of the airport. I wasn't unaware of the glances I was getting from people coming in and out of the airport. "Greetings, and welcome to America." An older woman who you would describe as chipper comes towards us. "My name is Jenna, and I am one of the therapists at Serenity." "Weren't there supposed to be two of you?" The guard tugging at my cuffs sizes her up and down. "There is. He is just sorting out an issue we were having with the parking meter. Honestly, you would think that with modern technology, things would have gotten easier." She rambles on as she ushers us to follow her. The heat bared down on us as we made our way across the car park. There were hardly any cars around. Weird for an airport. "Awfully quiet?" I had to make my thoughts heard. "Less of a risk to the public plus it helps with your own mental wellbeing that you are not viewed as an animal." She casts me cocky look as we reach a black family carrier. "If you want to load your belongings in the boot whilst we wait for my colleague. She shouldn't be too long." She? I thought her colleague was a he. We make our way to the boot of the car. The guard who was standing behind me makes his way forward and pops it open. The sight before me answered the suspicious thoughts I had been having. Two dead bodies laid torn to pieces in the boot. Glazed eyes stared back at us. The female had been stripped of her clothing whilst the male wore the same attire as the lady behind us. "What the hell!?" Before the guards could react, black tendrils, what looked like magic from what i have seen so far, wrap around their mouths before tearing into their skin. A few moments ago, they were hauling me around like a dog. Now, they lay slumped against the car, all the blood drained out of them. "Ahh, that's better." Jenna sighs with satisfaction. I turned to face the woman, who had a gleeful smile on her face. I studied her with wonder and confusion as she brushed herself down. "Are you going to kill me too?" "If I wanted to, Gabe, I would have done it by now." She smiles before walking over to the bodies. "Give me a hand putting them in the trunk, and let's go." "I might struggle with that." I wave my cuffed hands at her. She merely flicks her wrist - black energy tendrils shoot out and snap the handcuffs into hundreds of little pieces. Nifty. I quickly assist with loading my former guards into the boot, along with the other bodies, and hop in the passenger seat. The tyres screech as she floors it out of the car park and down the highway. travelling further and further into open country. "Who are you?" "Jenna." "No. Who are you really? And why have you helped me escape?" "Well, if you couldn't tell, I am a dark witch. More precisely, I am the one who provided Xavier with most of the potions and poisons he needed." She delightly proclaims as she turns down a dirt track. "So, why help me?" "Well, Xavier had told me all about his plan, and I am all for it." "Which part?" "You ask too many pointless questions, human. The one where supernaturals need to be the dominant race and step out from the shadows." She looked at me as if I was dumb. I hate her already. "Anyway, so I assisted Xavier with wolfsbane plus the odd extra potions here and there. Then he got himself killed... by you from my understanding." "I DID NOT KILL HIM!" I scream at her. How dare she accuse me of such a crime. "Colt aimed the gun at Xavier and pulled the trigger." "Weren't you the one holding the gun..?" She accuses me. I just huff and turn my head to look out the window. "Anyway, now that he is gone, the movement is all but died. I am going to bring it back to life and I need your help." The car grinds to a halt. We appear to have arrived at an old abandoned cottage. Charming... She hops out of the car and makes her way back to the boot, tossing all of the bags out onto the dirt by the time I made it round to the back. "Ooo, what am I gonna do with you four?" She gets into the boot and seems to sit herself in the middle of the bodies, toying with their limbs as blood begins to coat her lower half. "Sorry to disturb... whatever you are doing, but what do you need my help with?" "Again, with the questions. Why can't you let me enjoy myself?" She points the finger of one of my former guards at me, beforing giggling and letting it stroke down her face. "Since you leave me wanting more answers." "Uhh, fine." She sits crossed legged and turns herself towards me, propping her head on her hands. "You play a key role in a ritual I need to perform due to the connection you have with Xavier." "Had. He is dead now." I sadly look down at the ground but those tendrils grab my chin and yank it up sharply so I was staring back at Jenna. "He is dead at the moment, but what if he wasn't?" An evil smile spread across her face. "What if I told you that I want to perform a ritual that will bring him back from the dead? And I need you to help do it."
