32 - Colt POV

1241 Words
It's moving day. And boy, could it not come any sooner. I thought that dealing with Blood Moon would solve all of our problems. Now, they seem to be piling up as if I was building a tower. I send up a prayer to my parents. Mum, Dad, was it ever this bad when you were the leaders? Or, did you just handle it better? I would say you are handling things quite well, all things considered. Wow, high praise coming from you, Ash. Take it whilst you can. I stand in what was my bedroom for nearly the last two months. Everything had now been boxed away into a moving van. The bedrooms of the ranked members were the last things to be packed up along with the hospital supplies - all the kitchen supplies had been sent over yesterday. We would have a similar set up to what we had before. Newstead Abbey was able to hold the ranked members plus a few spare bedrooms for staff and guests. We had managed to obtain some larger building nearby which can be used by the pack members as lodgings or permanent homes if they applied. I had even picked out the perfect room for baby Ash, which directly opposite the hall from mine and Abby's bedroom. It had been left bare as I wanted it to be something me and Abby decorated together. Hoping it will help settle any tension by thinking forward rather than stuck in her head. "Knock knock." Speak of the beauty. I turn my head to see Abby cladded out in her leather biker gear. I couldn't help but bite my lower lip as she made her way over to me - it got me every time. "I know it's your last time, for a while, on your bike tonight, but you may have to wear this around the house in the coming months." "Even when I am big and fat, carrying our little one?" "You would never be fat in my eyes." I pull her towards me and slink my arms around her, resting my hands on her lower back. "Besides, nothing could be more beautiful than you carrying our pup." "Hmh... you just like to sweet talk me." She rises on her toes to give me a longing kiss on the lips. She draws my lower lip between her teeth as she pulls away, causing me to use all of my will power to restrain myself from not taking her here and now. "Goddess, Abby. You do wonders to me." "Shame you will have to wait, we are ready to roll." This must be the pregnancy hormones. Austin and Dan talked about frisky Naomi and Siobhan got during their pregnancies but I think now it's affecting my innocent Abby - she was getting bolder lately. I'm not complaining. "I will be out with you guys in a sec. Just give me a moment." I give her one last kiss, returning the favour by biting her lower lip but, adding to it, giving her bum cheeks a squeeze. A moan escapes from her mouth as I pull away. "Go enjoy your last ride on your bike. Then, I can treat you later." She gives me a cheeky wink before leaving me to my thoughts. I'm glad she was happier than she has been. If she had learnt what I had this last week, along with her dad wanting us to get an abortion (there is no chance in hell of that happening), I am worried she will break mentally. With what Jason found at her family home, we knew Edward was involved with the Hunters. What I didn't expect was for Clarke and Faye to come to me during the week to tell me about Edward wanting to use the McGraws to create a potion that would force Abby to have an abortion. We decided to keep this between ourselves - only including the other ranked members plus Jason and Nicole so we could keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Clarke and Faye said they would keep an eye on Kenna, who seems to be the one taking the lead in brewing it. I would be annoyed with her, that's a lie - I am annoyed with her, but Clarke and Faye said she looked so broken when she was given the order plus is under the same spell Maeve was bond by a few weeks ago. Could this have to do with the information Jason found on Douglas? And there is the other potential problem - Jason. Not the man himself, but rather what the DNA test may come back with. We were still waiting as we had to have it sent off. Timeline for the results should fall around mid December, so now it was just a waiting game. You could tell he was still on edge, anytime Edward is brought up in front of him by someone or even Abby herself. I shake the thoughts off. Let's deal with the move first and then we can knuckle down on all of those issues. I make my way down the corridors and out of the packhouse, running my hand along the wall as I go and silently thanking the Moon Goddess for providing us with this sanctuary. Reaching the driveway, I see the last vans all lined up along with a dozen motorbikes lined up next to them. Abby had her helmet on along with Jason, Nicole and some of our other warriors. They all turn to me as I approach. "You know your orders - everyone assigned to a vehicle, get yourselves ready. The rest of you, shift and keep an eye out for trouble from the treeline. Understood?" "Yes, Alpha!" They all shout in unison and bare their necks before dispersing. We tried to keep the motorcade small to not draw too much attention to ourselves as we moved. A large contingent of vans and motorbikes moving through the dead of night... Nope, not suspicious at all. "Be safe." I grab Abby's arm as she revs the engine to her bike. She gives me a nod before lowering her visor. The others all give me the same response as they do the same before lining up near the vans. We had three vans - myself and the McGraw sisters were in the first van, Austin with the twins in the second and Dan with Siobhan and Imogen in the last. Naomi, not wanting to be cooped up in the van, was leading the main bulk of our warriors during surveillance. Gita, Felix and Clarke were the back three motorbikes so they had eyes on anything on our tail. Abby, Jason and Nicole were at the front. Mainly so I could keep an eye on Abby as we went along our journey. "You girls OK?" I ask as I settle into the driver's seat, looking across at the sisters. They looked exhausted. "We are fine." Adelaide blankly responds, Maeve only giving a sad nod in return. I decide not to push further on it and honk the horn twice, giving the signal for everyone to roll out. It was almost midnight by the time we set off so there was no soul about. Or at least, that's what I thought. It was not long before I got a mindlink from Naomi, which she had sent out to everyone. We've got company.
