“Dr. Ursa, what was your impression of Miss Locke?” Officer Sawings inquired.
Myles Ursa frowned at the uniformed cop who’d been present in the room with them. “Do I think she’s a hardened criminal? Yes and no.”
Race Camptown chuckled. “What part is yes, and what part is no?”
“Yes, I think she’s a criminal. No, I don’t think she’s hardened.”
This time it was Sawings who scoffed. “I’ll bet she’s got a rap sheet a mile long.”
“How long before we know anything for certain?” Myles inquired.
“Should know pretty soon, now that we know her name,” Sawing replied. “Makes it lots easier to find out more about her when we don’t have to wait for fingerprints.”
Camptown took a seat in his office chair. “You know, what I don’t get is why she only took a few things. Why not take all the jewelry?”
