Cressa opened her eyes. She had no idea what time it was, but the view from the bed was spectacular. Sitting up, she watched out the floor-to-ceiling window as the sun glistened over the waters in the bay, the light sparkling across the waves like glittering flakes of gold. The bed next to her was empty. Running her hand across the pillow, she discovered it was still warm. He hadn’t been away long. There was a knock on the hotel room door in the other room. She heard it open, and Myles exchanged words with the bell hop. She couldn’t hear what was said, but soon thereafter the door closed.
