“Did Ares not inform you?” He asked.
“Uh yes, he did. I had just forgotten about it Dad. You know with the whole honeymoon and all, I have been so preoccupied that's all.” I said trying to sound as convincing as possible.
“Oh, my daughter. I knew you were the best wife for my son. Just look at how much his voice has changed just from the honeymoon.” My father in law said which made me cringe the more as I kept on staring at Ares with anger.
He was pleading with me to go with the flow because he knew quite well that I could decide to play dumb at whatever his father was talking about and that would only land him in trouble.
